Dear Guild members,
After the departures of @Rilla and @Altered Tundra from the staff, it was time for some fresh blood. Rilla's position as site moderator has been graciously filled by @Byrd Man, a long-time veteran of the site and dedicated roleplayer. I wish him the best in the execution of his duties and I hope that you degenerates don't give him too much trouble he will enjoy his new role.
We've also made a few changes to the moderation policy in the Discord server. The ever-problematic #politics channel was renamed to #current-events and two new channels were created in a special category, Under-Moderated, of their own: #debate and #religion. Those channels exist to house the more spirited and heated discussions some of you seem to be so fond of, and we will only be stepping in to address personal attacks (ad hominem) and the use of derogatory slurs. Argue, ridicule and attack each other's points, sources, ideologies and beliefs to your heart's content. The rest of the server, however, remains subject to the regular site rules.
To enforce this policy we have promoted the following people to chat moderator:
They are the 'first line of defense' when it comes to mediating disputes in the Discord server, leaving the other staff members free to focus on their duties on the Guild itself. My request for you all is to go to them first if you have something to report on the Discord server. They will involve other staff members as necessary.
And last but not least, @Ruby has been promoted from moderator to co-admin! She will help @Mahz and I out with the overall management of the Guild, its staff (something she was already doing anyway, truth be told) and its various community projects. Please refrain from bothering Her Highness with your petty squabbles in the future.
Thanks for reading and happy RPing!
- Hank
