Sarah Venett was born into a large, dramatic family. Every single adult was a hard worker with a typical underbelly demeanor. They were neither poor nor rich. Sarah’s father was a patrol officer for the L.A.P.D., a regular tough guy with a badge. She cannot deny that he was her idol. He was the one that schooled Sarah about all things law enforcement and being able to handle the streets. It certainly was no game out there—the streets were gritty, cruel, and dark. Her father always used to say that “if you want to be a good cop, you have got to commit a couple of crimes yourself.” Sarah signed up for the police academy as soon as she was able to.

After graduation, Sarah worked at the same precinct as her father for a few years. He was a man of principle and hated nepotism with a passion. The philosophy he had taught his daughter come to define most of her career choices. The road to detective for Sarah would go through the dirtiest and darkest streets of the city. A year or two passed with plenty of taking calls and busting down doors before her father retired from the force. He finally agreed to write a letter of recommendation, which Sarah used to transfer to another precinct where she would work narcotics.

Sarah spent a number of years working narcotics and trafficking. About half of those years were undercover as a handler and escort for one of the more hidden organizations within the city. When the orders finally came down and the raids busted in doors, many of the girls that Sarah had come to know were released, which created a small network of eyes and ears on the street. Most of them still keep in touch with Sarah, even though they haven’t abandoned service work, as they feel safe to have a high ranking police officer on their side of things.

She finally made detective after the trafficking bust. A few days after the celebration party at home with the family, Sarah’s father was killed by what was assumed to be a Replicant. The case quickly went cold. Witnesses and physical evidence was scarce to the point of completely null. Sarah became obsessed with the Replicant issue. She accepted any case that had anything remotely to do with them, but progress was always halted by security and clearance barriers. She began to familiarize herself with the Bladerunner program and applied for a position a few months later.

One of the last things Sarah did during her undercover period was to oversee a snuff production. It was the final nail in the coffin while building the case against the trafficking ring. However, she was unable to stop a scene with a young girl enduring more than anyone ever should before being murdered. In fact, Sarah let it happen for the sake of the case against the perpetrators. It has haunted her ever since. She has desperately tried to identify the girl’s parents, but without much fortune. She hopes to one day confront the parents and tell them that she was partly responsible for the torture and death of their child.

Sexual Trauma Sarah had to see and personally endure some pretty horrible things in the early days of her undercover period. Today, she only deals with girls whenever desire comes knocking.

Addict  Sarah blames herself for the death of a young girl in the trafficking ring. Even if she seeks redemption, she cannot stop drowning herself in alcohol and drugs.

Vendetta  Sarah has a personal stake in the Replicant issue. She believes that her father was murdered by one, but there is little to no evidence of it. Either way, there is a distinct aura of distrust surrounding Sarah in the presence of Replicants.

Jaded  Sarah is emotionally jaded. She has clear issues with trust for anyone she doesn't already know. The only group of people that is able to bypass this sinister view of the world is the women of the streets.

Eyes & Ears  Sarah has a network of streetwalkers that often prove to be useful when it comes to gathering information. These girls know Sarah from her undercover days within a trafficking ring.

Seduction  Sarah learned quite a few things during her time as a handler and escort for the trafficking ring. Sometimes, those things come in handy when you want to get men or women to talk.
