After the end of Reality the world was born anew. A new guardian and keeper of order strode the world. Galen Kard. But a dark and ominous blight, like nothing encountered before, fell upon this new world. In response to the darkness Galen enlisted the aid of his closest friends and allies to investigate. He bestowed upon them weaponized Reality in the form of Seals of Power. And sent them into the anomaly entitled The Blackout.
Once inside the blighted Reality the group soon found that their Seals could not function properly. After discovering a child in an abandoned castle they come under attack from an organization known as the Hands of the Father. During the attack the assassin Nevermore and the the Incandescent Razz were abducted by an all powerful being known as The Father. Leaving only Lexianna, the cosmic guardian, Ghaul, the Norse god of fate, Sia, a demigod of water, Blaze, a tech genius and royal heir, Flame, Blaze's younger sibling and royal guard, and Oshite an enigmatic stranger with a pet wolf.
Immediately after the group came across a strange man, known simply as Lord Shadow, who appeared to be a servant of The Father. Gaul deduced that Shadow was not their ally and led the group away. Eventually coming across a small fishing village to the west.
Sia plunged into the lake attracting the attention of a fisherman named Sven. Sven attempted to steal a red stone from Sia. Blaze and Flame noticed this and intervened. Ghaul began to interrogate Sven but was interrupted by the village leader who invited them to join in the town feast.
Meanwhile in a Reality far from the original Blackout. Galen and his daughter Lilianna discover a second Blackout. After venturing in they are shocked to discover that the previous world's Champion, Zaakielo Sin Alistair, had seemingly been resurrected. Liliana restrains the two in order to buy time to address Zaak's accusations towards Galen.
