This isn't an Alciubierre drive, though. This is a magical ability that Patrick has. With that last point, though, it does make it a bit meaningless to assign a cap to it.

Lefarian
Name: Kyle Jet Carver Race: Human / Val’iéshn Age: 21
History: Son of the famous Captain Howell Carver head of the Lantanian Mercenaries, a man with ambition and ego to rival that of the Val’iéshn. Perhaps it is because of that strong self belief and the fact he had the skill and wits to back it up, that he was respected by, and fathered a child to a Vel’eshn woman.
While rare, it was not completely unheard of. Rarer was the successful fruit of their union and the birth of Jet. Due to Val’iéshn and human genetic differences, children don’t often make it to birth or survive long after. Jet however not only survived but was also healthy and fully functional. His appearance leans heavily towards his fathers side but his brain activity and reflexes are as sharp as any of his mother’s race. He has a stronger than human immune system, heals a bit quicker and has the second Vel heart.
Personality: Carefree, Arrogant, Cocky, Reckless, Lazy. These are all terms that have been used to describe Jet. But so are daring, brave, kind, selfless, trustworthy and reliable. It all depends what side of him you are on. Sometimes he can be quiet in contemplative thought, other times he talks a lot and can’t be shut up. A few things undeniable though, he has a short attention span, cares little of others opinions, is sarcastic and gets restless quite easy. This combination often leads to poor choices and quite often trouble. Core Belief:Kindness, because life is cruel enough.
There is enough sorrow and cruelty in this bleak meaningless existence already, no reason to add to it. It’s just the natural state of things and of people. Pain, suffering, greed, poverty. These are things you just can’t change. But what we can do, all we can do, is leave brief little sparks of brightness here and there during our fleeting, short and meaningless path through this dark unforgiving maze.
There are no second chances in life.
Equipment:
The gun, obviously too big for him, is supported by his magic. The armour, like his ship, contains a source of magic that Jet can draw from, enhancing his limited powers.
Ship: Apophenia.
Magic: Gravikinesis Jet’s magic ability is quite weak and limited, however like the Val’iéshn he uses tech to enhance his magical reserves.
The Val’iéshn:
Val’iéshn: ’Val-ee-shen’ The Val’iéshn are a humanoid race from a distant small galaxy cluster known as Paledian. Believed to descend from altered human DNA with the purpose of improvement and efficiency, they are a notoriously arrogant and religious race who rarely mingle with others that they consider their lessors.
A small isolated technological warrior race that has advanced and adapted to the poor conditions of all the planets in the system that they call home.
The Paledian system consists of only five planets that unsteadily circle the Vel’ruh and Val’rasia. The twin stars that appear to be slowly splitting or merging. This cosmic energy emitted from between these stars awakens the dormant magic within their second heart and fills the many mineral rich uninhabitable moons with reservoirs of magic dense materials that they can manipulate.
Those not born near the stars may never learn to manipulate the mystical energies that they give off and possibly won’t awaken their own potential as much of their magic latency develops in their early learning years.
Name: Chiran Endoz Race:Human Appearance: A dark skinned human male with dark caramel skin-tone, short cobalt blue hair, and orange eyes. He's of a pretty athletic build which was cultivated due to him wanting to be fit to win fights and do all sorts of exploration. He dresses casually in a semi-scruffy navy blue duster with some various patches and decorations added to it over a t-shirt and space blue jeans with some sturdy boots. Within his coat and on his utility belt he carries all sorts of gizmos that mainly are there to channel his magic through to do things with.
History: He was being semi-orphaned on the aquatic moon, Tirina. En route to a neighboring planet, an attack by alleged space pirates, that is actually thought to be a splinter group Mythless, leaves the ship damaged and everyone scrambling to the escape pods. Tirina is where his pod would land, and he ended up crashing in the wilderness next to a beach. He would run through the streets until he met with the family of a future friend who would take care of him until he was reunited with a relative. Having gotten used to Tirina, he refused to leave the moon and continue growing up there.
Years later Chiran would grow up and do various things. One of them being developing his latent magical talent. When he was alone on Tirina, he had found a cavern filled with odd rocks that glowed and seemed to hum when in his presence. He'd find a mentor with a retired Wind Rider. There Chiran would learn he is one of the lucky few to be a true a mage. From there he'd learn more about the art of magic, piloting, fighting, and some other useful skills. The romanticism and thrilling tales from the mentor would guide him to seriously thinking about joining the Wind Riders.
Personality: Chiran's early experience has definitely scarred him. while he's capable of being friendly, he finds himself with difficulty opening up to people and he has given him certain iciness at times. On the other hand he finds himself with a vagrant's soul. Early on he knew that the universe was large and mysterious. Furthermore one of the few comforts he had when he was alone was just taking in the sites of Tirina. Had it been different circumstances, it would have been quite nice just wandering the wilderness of Tirina. Chiran possesses a rather unsurprising enmity towards the Mythless. Not only were they suspected of this very traumatic incident he had experienced, but now they were an actual threat to him due to his status as a mage.
Core Belief: Be fickle as the wind. While some may bemoan the current calm the Wind Riders face, he doesn't mind it all. The relative lack of duties to has mean he could follow his whims and drift like a leaf in the galactic winds fairly stress free. This also extends to how he may decide to take up tasks however lucrative or non-lucrative they may be.
Equipment: Given his magic, he carries a handful of gizmos that attune to that. However the most important/used things would be: his space smartphone device that enables communication, navigation, and lets him access data. His cast-gun, shields, and metallic bottle filled with energy drink.
Ship: The Golden Leaf Chiran acquired this ship during a salvage mission. It was a derelict found floating in a scrapfield. It has since been retrofitted and remodeled to make it spaceworthy. It has the basics to support him and some other crew members. Most importantly it has a hybrid engine that allow him to channel his own magic to fuel it. Currently he flies alone but is willing to pick up people to travel with him if they're agreeable. It is cylindrical in shape with drab brown paint save for a logo on the side of a large gold leaf drifting from a tree.
Magic: Chiran mainly sticks to using augmentative magic to go with hand to hand fighting skills on top of channeling it through devices that are attuned to mages.
Notes: This character was basically gonna be inspired by magic Chinese space pirates from Outlaw Star. This changed when an old rp buddy showed up wanted to join me in this rp. Although it's dependent on her showing up and there being an opening, I designed him to be kinda vague to allow for our characters to know each other before hand.
Please notify me I got the concept of a true mage wrong. I read it as being a different class of magic user. I wanted to use it since I still wanted to use some elements of the previous concept.
TBH I have no idea how long it'll take for her to get on and drop a character, so I'd rather it be judged like as if it didn't have that gimmick of being tied to another player.

I figured you'd add more detail when you know what you're working with. There's nothing mechanics wise you should need to add, though it'd be nice to know what other kinds of magic they can use.
well, we're waiting on one less person so as soon as @Dark Light finishes up his sheet, I'm probably going to open the IC up. @Jerkchicken go ahead and add your sheet to the character tab when you're ready.
