Background and Personality
Growing up in Seoul, South Korea, Hanja came from an impoverished background. The bastard son of an American military officer born to a Korean woman who co-managed her fathers’ store. At age fourteen, Hanjae studied as a foreign exchange student in San Francisco, California. He graduated at the age of seventeen and attended college with the desire to study microbiology. He would graduate college with a PhD in microbiology and a bachelor degree in botany.
Hanjae, or “Han” as he preferred to be called (due to American butchering of his name), would go on to work in labs at USC and UCLA researching and experimenting with microbes and various diseases and parasites. Occasionally he would guest speak to university graduate classes and at ceremonies. Recently, Hanjae paired with an old colleague from his graduate days and has departed the states for South America. The pair embarking on an expedition of sorts into the Amazonian jungle for separate avenues in their respected fields.
(Personality) Han can be described as mellow yet intuitive. An intelligent man with a thirst for knowledge and understanding. Despite majoring in an applied science, he also has interests in literature, grammar, linguistics, and cultural and historical geography. Han can in fact speak five languages; English, Korean, Mandarin, French, and Spanish. Open minded and understanding, as well as rather diplomatic, many might say that Han could have been a psychologist or sociologist if not for his love of biology.
