Tea appreciation topic!

What kind of tea do you drink?

I avoid caffeine, so I generally drink herbal tea. Most mornings, I make ginger tea from ginger root.
I have a bunch of artisan/specialty teas, one is from a local Oregon-based brand called Smith which a friend gave to me for X-mas.

I'm actually drinking some black tea right now... It's called Black Dragon Pearl or something aggressively asian like that.

Black Dragon Pearl sounds like an anime.

In HS (many many years ago) I used to drink a crapload of black coffee, then I stopped cold turkey. Now caffeine either doesn't do anything to me or gets me too wired. I prefer the taste of herbal teas though, but I can appreciate a super brewed black tea.

I have an Orange Pekoe Black blend, it's a bit more bitter then coffee but not nearly as heavy. Same amount of caffeine though, it's a great morning brew.

I like all sorts of tea, I think there's only one kind I didn't like and it's this honey caramel blend we have at the gas station I work. (You can buy a hot drink and get a tea bag in hot water, we have some really good ones)

I ordered some teas a little while ago, my favorite being Earl Grey Lavender from Adagio Teas. I tend to gravitate to black teas, it seems.

I prefer black teas, but I can enjoy some green and white teas as well. I can stand some herbal teas, but red teas taste like syrup to me.

Earl Grey is my go-to morning cup, but I also enjoy a variety of teas. I have a few I got from steepery.com that I need to make again sometime.

Oooh, tea.

Big fan of Assam, with cream and sugar. Irish Breakfast is pretty awesome, too. I enjoy Lady Grey every now and then. In the winter, I really like Tea Source Spice which is 'A black tea blend with orange, spice, and cinnamon that is sweet and very spicy.' Reminds me of Christmas.

I like herbals in the summer - the Zingers by celestial seasonings are really good. Haven't found a loose-leaf herbal that I like yet, though.

I've had Zingers too, they have a crapload of different flavors at my grocery store.

Pretty hyper and focused usually, don't really need the caffeine. Also for some reason I react weird to it now after abusing it in my high school years.

Ooo I love tea. I've been drinking a lot of peppermint tea lately, but I'm very much into some of the blends that you can find in the smaller tea shops. I was given a whole lot of herbals to try that I haven't opened yet.

Also chamomile. Chamomile is great.

Chamomile is my go-to tea before bed. It's also good for anxiety.

Currently sipping ginger-lemon-white.

I love tea with ginger in it. I've never had a white tea with ginger... but it sounds AMAZING.

Ginger white tea is amazing, though I have to admit it is the only white tea I have had. I drink many, many others though- my tea cabinet has three shelves and they are all full.

For black teas, I love a good smokey Oolong, and I have imported Irish breakfast tea that is perfect in the mornings with a splash of cream and a sugar cube. For blacks though, my favourite will always be Darjeeling. It has such a wonderful, complex flavour that is delicious as is, or with cream and sugar.

For greens, nothing will ever be as good as a properly made Sencha or Macha, but I do enjoy gunpowder green and jasmine green teas. If you like a robust, bitter green, I highly recommend a gunpowder type.

When it comes to herbal teas, I actually make my own. I am fortunate enough to have a "new age" shop in a nearby city and they carry a good selection of bulk herbs. I make blends for colds, sore throats, headaches, fatigue and insomnia. I also make herbal steam baths which do wonders for your skin and sinuses.

For sentimental reasons I've been drinking a lot of white jasmine tea the past few months, but I'm a true sucker for first blend darjeeling from Nepal. That tea is my jam.

There's this really interesting Nepalese herbal tea beverage called Bhang. You should look up a few vids on youtube.

I get my tea out of an Asian market place, but it's straight up Ceylon, mostly.

Lemon Zinger is one of my favorites. My college roommate and I jokingly referred to it as "lemon crack." I also love Earl Grey, and a local tea shop has this one blend of tea called Eye of the Tiger. I don't know if other places have it or not, but it's freakin' delicious. Especially as iced tea. Almost has a bit of a chocolatey taste to it.
