. . . a saint sins
”I am not a saint, unless you think of a saint as a sinner who keeps trying.”
Lately, the desire to incorporate a new roleplay or two into my schedule has been becoming a more and more urgent. In my idle time (when I do happen to get some) I am constantly finding my imagination running wild. Character ideas, potential plots, events all begging to be put to paper lest I forget them. So, here I am, imploring you, wonderful Guildmates:
Indulge me.
“But Saint Sinner,” You interject, a bit wary and hesitant. “What do you roleplay? What characters and setting are you interested in? What are your rules and limits? Are we even compatible partners? Is this a waste of my time?” You’ve got a lot of questions. I know, I know.
Worry not, I will try to touch up on all the FAQs and if I forget something, you’re welcome to ask me directly.
Now, we can try to gauge our compatibility based on this post. But, we won’t truly know until we are in touch. All I can say is if you’re interested, give it a shot. Best case scenario we’ll each emerge with a new partner. Worse case scenario we’ll probably end up back here.

In an ambiguously futuristic setting, the presence and use of AIs (cyborgs/androids) is prominent. With most households owning some sort of AI in the form of companions, nannies, pets, etc. Some even use their bots in combat for recreation and gambling. This extends even to government agencies, with bots employed by the military, used in security, etc. The exception are poorer communities, those that fall below middle class. Or those in middle classes that have lost the AIs in bankruptcy, to pay debts or simply loss from damage.
I believe this allows a pretty flexible opportunity for plot. We could take this a number of ways.
A poor student builds their own function (but possibly faulty) AI from spare parts at school or scrap yard where they work part time.
A discarded AI finds a new home. Abandoned by their creator, they soon bond with their savior. Perhaps formerly a military bot or a bot used for combat. After some time, the creator seeks to reclaim it’s creation. Perhaps to upgrade and employ again. Perhaps to strip of a special part for another droid.
These two plots are potentially controversial, but I always enjoy them. I have recently finished reading The Hate U Give. I have always enjoyed these type of angsty, dramatic interpretations with love often triumphing. Overcoming conflict, challenging prejudice and stereotypes. Often set around the 1950s (around the times of desegregation in America), though it does not have to necessarily reflect real life or be historically accurate. I understand it is a very sensitive subject, so I understand if it does not garner much interest or you might be a bit hesitant in broaching the subject.
A woman fights for her son’s life/freedom amidst great controversy. With her life becoming the center of attention, with media vilifying her child, challenging her background and upbringing, a woman clings to her hope and sanity. An unexpected ally comes to her aid - a lawyer offers to represent her family’s case pro bono. Coming from two very different backgrounds, the two face injustice head on.

A young woman attends a recently desegregated school (high school or university). An outcast, shunned or avoided by many of her peers and even teachers. She meets someone she thinks may be a friend, and they become quite close. But tensions in school drive a wedge between them - forcing them to pick sides. Their relationship gaining disapproval from their parents and friends, can love overcome?
(Despite the element of realism here, I still have anime leanings)
This one is less of a fleshed out idea, but general thoughts on direction. So essentially, it’s the typical idea of humanity and vampires being at odds. Whether the human is just a civilian, who comes across a vampire under some circumstances (they save their life, they find the injured, they’re seeking refuge from hunters, whatever). Some things depend on the type of character you want to play. If a war is ongoing, there is propaganda fed to civilians which make vampires seems like terrible and vile beings. Which may not necessarily be the case.
Another possible variation of that, could be after a supposed war of races where humans and vampires live alongside each other. Perhaps measures have been taken to cull the primal needs of vampires, a sort of device, new laws, hunters, what have you. Perhaps in order to live amongst humans, a vampire needs to be linked with a human by contract or something? Or vice versa, where humans must be associated with a vampire owner to get by in the new society. One or the other, essentially having become a second class citizen of sorts. I have more in depth ideas, but I don’t want to post a wall of text here. So, if you’re potentially interested, ask and you shall receive.
Long story short, I’m in the market for some vampy shenanigans. And I’m flexible with the plot.
