Character names.
Brand. New. Character names.
Most of the time, I'll find a good name for a character in about twenty to thirty mins, no problem.
Right now though, I HATE it. So, and I don't like admitting this.. I need help

As I type this, I am currently working on a new rp, and need a few names for a bit of the main character's family, and two extras.

Here's a short list


And, of course, the theme. The rp is set in a futuristic, Sci-Fi, Steampunk-y kind of world.
The main character, his mother and his best friend are all human, both the sisters and the grandfather are cyborgs, and the antagonist is an alien.

If more info is needed, just ask

I suggest looking into a lot of Gaelic or Nordic names. They often sound pretty 'familiar' without being too generic like "David" Or "Eric". Not sure if it does fit in a sci-fi context as it is used quite extensively in the fantasy genre.
Eg. Ciara, Celinette, Lilias, Morrigan

Other sources of inspiration can be planet names or names that are the lexiconographic origins of a particular theme or character, or a morph of said theme.
Eg. Nox, Haesis, Vergil

For alien and cyborg names, I found the Destiny characters to have fantastic names that are unfamiliar without sounding too exotic.
Eg. Araskes, Sepiks, Yavek

What language do the aliens speak? What kinds of sounds do they use? What is their policy/convention when interacting with humans? Use this to think of alien names.

For example, if alienspeak sounds very clicky and jagged, think of names with a lot of coronal consonants (like the /k/ or /t/ sound). If alienspeak is rounder and more continuous, think of names with more vowels and labial consonants (like the /g/ or /m/ sound).

If the aliens and humans don't have a peaceful relationship, they may only have their name in alienspeak. However, if the relations between aliens and humans are smooth, perhaps the aliens will choose friendlier names to the human tongue.
