Ivy smiles. “Glad to hear it. Alright everybody, show time!” She grabs a mic from a table in the back and walks onto a low stage perpendicular to the tables where the food now sits. “Good evening, everyone. How are we?” Cheering erupts when Ivy walks on stage, and it increases when she speaks. She smiles a little, and taps the mic. “Yo, its good to hear y’all are hungry, but let’s settle down, yeah?” The crowd settles down. “Thank you. Now I wanna hear a big round of applause for my team and the volunteers.” The crowd obliges and ear splitting racket is made. When it quietens, Ivy smiles broadly. “What have y’all been doing today?!” “WORKING!” “Working for what?!” “CHANGE!” “For what?!” “CHANGE!” “What fuels you?!” “FOOD!” “Who’s hungry?!” “WE ARE!” “Alright then, have at it!” The crowds jump up nearly simultaneously and thin out into lines to be served. Ivy makes her way through the crowds, well more so the crowds split for her as if she’s Moses, and she approaches Jacob. She hands him a pair of gloves. “Beans are by Maeve, just ask and they’ll say.” She pecks his cheek before running off to help.
Winter laughs and hangs on, wrapping her arms around his neck and burying her face in his body.
