Helena is well-built, standing at 5'4" weighing about 135 pounds. She has deep brown eyes that go dark in the center and lighter around the edges. She has dark brown, wavy hair which is many times worn down unless working or training. The costume she eventually designs is a black compression long-sleeve and black leggings worn underneath dark red and black motorcycle armor. She also has a utility belt to carry whatever tools she deems necessary on a given night.

Personality: Helena is an incredibly caring individual, even to those she just met. If both her and a stranger are hungry, she will do whatever it takes to get the stranger food, even if that means she goes hungry. She does her best to see the good in everyone, as she strongly believes that people have the capability to change for the better. These qualities can both be considered noble and naive, as they often lead her into getting manipulated and taken advantage of. No matter what, she tries her best to bounce back from even life's toughest problems with a smile. Helena has a tendency to bottle up certain emotions, particularly the negative ones, in fear of hurting or upsetting the ones around her. Her fighting helps her to release some of these pent up emotions, but not everything. If someone hits the wrong button, her bottled emotions will explode onto that person, even if they did something as little as accidentally step on her foot.

Backstory: Helena lived about 30 miles outside of Long Beach with her mother and father for the first 9 years of her life. This time was less than enjoyable for her. Her father was addicted to several types of drugs and this tended to be his main focus in life. This usually left him and his wife broke as he tended to steal from her. When he couldn't get his fix, he took his anger out on Helena and her mother, often becoming physically and emotionally abusive. Helena's mother was her rock, always doing her best to make sure that Helena was well-fed and that they had a roof over their heads. She usually took most of the beatings, but Helena did her best to defend her mother, which of course never went well. A few months after Helena's ninth birthday, the beating was so bad that her mother ended up dying. Her father was given jail time and Helena has not heard from him since.

Luckily for the young girl, her grandmother was able to adopt her and take her into her home. Her grandmother explained once Helena was older that her father kept them isolated, not allowing anyone to see them and constantly making excuses for why they were unable to show up to family gatherings. Her grandmother admits that she thought something weird was happening, but never thought anything that bad was going on. Helena does not blame her grandmother for what took place as she believes her father might have killed her mother- and possibly herself- sooner.

Upon moving in with her grandmother, Helena was put into Tae Kwon Do to learn basic self defense. The young girl fell in love with the sport as it gave her confidence and gave her an emotional outlet. She gained her black belt in roughly two years and her second degree in another two years. At this point she was about 14 and tired of TKD. Not only that, but she felt bad that her grandmother was paying for the relatively expensive lessons. So, Helena quit TKD and ended up joining her high school wrestling team. This only lasted two years as she wasn't a huge fan of grappling. Her grandmother noticed this and offered to put her back into TKD. Helena declined, still distasteful of the expenses. She instead asked to be put into boxing, which was cheaper yet just as effective. Her grandmother was reluctant at first, as she knew the roughness of the sport, but eventually gave in. Since the age of 16 Helena has been boxing.

For years she worked at her grandmother's bakery, "Granny's Cookies", but didn't become an official employee until the age of 17. Since then she has progressed to store manager.

Helena graduated high school and went to the Long Beach College, as a natural choice. Currently she is studying Law Enforcement. Because of all the injustice she has seen throughout her life, she has a strong desire to protect others from it. One day she hopes to be a police officer, but seeing how the Long Beach Police Department is run, she isn't so sure anymore.

Skills/Weapons: Helena is a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do (about four years of experience) and has two years of experience in folkstyle wrestling. Her main style is boxing, which she has four years of and is currently practicing. She is skilled enough to go pro, but is prioritizing school. As far as weapons, she carries a baton with a very bright LED flashlight tip on every patrol just in case things get a bit out of hand.

Name: Derek Holder

Looks: Derek stands at an average 5 foot 10, and while appearing to be rather skinny, he has the smallest hint of muscle definition thanks to semi-regular workouts. His hair falls to just below his earlobes, is often unkempt, and is dyed black due to his dislike of its original color. His complexion is pale, as he wears foundation to hide the many freckles that dot across his nose and cheeks, giving him a sort of “goth” look. His eyes are a dull blue, and his right ear is pierced with a single black stud. He prefers to wear baggy hoodies over a t-shirt (usually band/video game-related) and faded jeans with a black leather belt. He swaps between old sneakers and a pair of heavy boots mostly reserved for motorcycle riding.

Occupation: Derek works as the lead cashier at the American Eagle Outfitters store in the Pike.

Personality: Derek is very much the loner of the group. The only times he really sees the others is during his work hours, on the off chance one or more of them stop by to shop. He prefers not to initiate conversation if he can help it, but if engaged in one, he’ll do his best to keep up. Outside of that, though, he’s pretty quiet, usually on his phone or off in his own little world. Despite his “lone wolf” attitude, Derek has a big heart and tries to help his friends out when he can, though he’d much rather do so through more indirect means. In his off time, he’s either reading, playing games, listening to music, or sleeping.

Backstory: Derek lived in Long Beach with his parents up until he was six years old, when a tragic plane crash took his mother and father’s lives. He went on to live with his aunt and cousin throughout the rest of his childhood years. This was around the time Derek would start closing himself off from interacting with other people, aside from his family. In his middle school years, he was subject to plenty of bullying due to his quiet nature. This would range from verbal harassment during class to physical altercations outside of class. In an attempt to help him, Derek’s aunt signed him up for various self-defense classes. Derek attended boxing classes for about 3 years, choosing to quit when he entered high school, believing the bullying wouldn’t be as bad. When he discovered such was not the case, he himself signed up for Tae Kwon Do, which he only attended for another year or so. After graduation, he moved into a shared apartment with his cousin, where he currently resides. About 2 weeks after moving in, he secured a job at an American Eagle store in the Pike, where he’d worked for the past 2 or 3 years.

Skills/Weapons: Since he hasn’t taken any boxing/TKD classes since high school, Derek’s a little rusty when it comes to combat. Still, he remembers the basics and is more than capable of taking down your typical thug. Of course, with a bit more training, he’d be able to hold his own against stronger opponents. Soon after the agreement to become vigilantes, Derek snagged an old wooden pole that used to be a clothing rack from the AE back room, hoping to integrate it into his fighting style.

Other: Derek’s life goal is to become a recognized poet, as he believes the art form is dying out and wants to resurrect it. His favorite poet by far is Edgar Allan Poe, and his favorite poem of his is “Israfel,” hence his alias.

Name: Aleissa Gavron

Personality: Word around school and her work place is that Aleissa is rather hard to approach. With confidence that nearly borders arrogance, people have often mistaken her to be stuck up and has been through rough times because of this. Aleissa, as a result, became far too guarded to let people in easily. Most of her relationships, whether platonic or romantic, end up being superficial. Her only focus is doing her best in what she's good at and try her best on those she's bad at. Aleissa has mastered the art of brushing people's opinion of her off. While it still does hurt, she knows how to keep her head up high and keep moving forward. She is highly competitive in her craft and failure often leads her to train more regardless of how tired she becomes.

Past the guarded exterior is a caring and vulnerable girl. In need of emotional support from people she could risk to trust. To her friends, she is as kind as she can be. She is still rather hesitant in letting them see her in her more vulnerable state but she's working on that. Aleissa is generally a helpful person if people allow her, but sometimes she can be a bit too blunt about it. Even when she's instructing aspiring gymnasts, she can be strict but people don't deny that she knows the most effective way to teach people.

Backstory: Ever since she was a child, Aleissa has always been a gymnast. Her mother wanted for her child to do something with her life and had forced the hobby into the young girl - but she appreciated it anyway because she began to love the art quickly. And she was talented, her teachers told her as much. But as much as she was talented, she lacked the proper social skills to befriend children her age. This has led her to be practically friendless for a majority of her childhood, among other factors.

She generally kept to herself for the majority of her life. She tried to keep out of trouble. She tried to keep up with her studies. And yet, as much as Aleissa had grown a cold exterior, there were still people who would approach her. Befriend her. Sometimes even rope her into a relationship. And she allowed them. She got into superficial friend groups and even more superficial relationships. But when she had entered highschool, she fell into a group that was actually decent. They were all different in their own way but that was what made it genuine.

When she was nineteen years old, she was involved in a hostage situation at a local bank. The older man who was behind her in the line had taken it upon himself to keep her safe and she was thankful for it. When they were forced to the side and sit down, he kept himself close to her side. However, when one of the robbers had turned to her in an attempt to use her as the hostage to get out, the man had jumped to stop him. He hadn't made it out. The police soon managed to outsmart and bring the criminals to justice but that stuck with Aleissa. That man was a good man. She started to train in parkour as well after that, after one of her fellow gymnasts had suggested taking it up.

Skills/Weapons: Among her mundane skills of ballet and gymnastics, Aleissa has been learning parkour for the past three years and has gotten good at it. Her teachers have brought her to more advanced courses and they've been trying for rooftop courses. Lately, she has started to take up Tae Kwon Do when the group decided to go vigilante. She typically carries a pepper spray can and a taser with her.

Other: Aleissa is a rather well-known gymnastics competitor and has advanced to nationals multiple times.

Occupation: Motocross racer

Personality: Casper is somewhat socially awkward around people he does not know. He can't seem to ever gather the courage to speak to them, but once he is on the motocross track though he seems to have a personality change. Becoming more alive and vibrant during the hours leading up to the race and the hours after. Even if he losses he is still just stoked to race, with his friends he is very much the same as before a race , vibrant , talkative etc. If someone does break through or get along with his awkwardness and befriend him then Casper is fairly loyal and will usually try to help his friends if he can and usually doesn't hold anything against them for very long.

Backstory: Born and raised in Long beach Casper grew up on " better " side of town. Living in a fairly well off middle class family Casper's home life and childhood was fairly normal . He went to the local high school ,but while all of his friends played sports or competed in academic triathlons Casper watched the motocross races sometimes even ditching school to see them. When he was at school Casper took the mechanics and automotive classes they had available. Taking the classes sort of allowed him to earn his start as a racer as he volunteered to work on the bikes of some local racers. Once he turned sixteen and got his licence and even a bit before then Casper started to practice racing.

Casper lied about his age to race which was a very difficult task for him . Once he turned eighteen Casper decided to leave long beach to the dismay of his parents. Racing in a few other states and even at a international contest Casper decided to come back to longbeach once he was halfway through his twentieth year. Racing professionally at long beach for two years Casper reconnected with old friends and made new ones and so far has been living a pretty normal life though that's about to change.

Skills/Weapons: Caspers main skill is riding dirtbikes and other motorcycles but he is the best with dirtbikes. He is able to jump , flip and all of that fancy stuff. Casper is also a semi decent mechanic as he works on his bikes in his spare time so he can fix up most motor vehicles . Other than that Casper is fairly normal not having a significant amount of fighting knowledge or anything like that though he does carry a pocket knife for protection.

Name: Scott Dermott

Personality: Scott is one of life’s drifters, always interested in something new each month, maybe week. It depends on how long it takes him to get bored of whatever he was doing last. That is for everything apart from his studies and friends, both of them he has stuck to, ensuring that he’s got some consistency in life. In social situations he’s always the first to try and make a joke out of the situation, seemingly practically carefree. Saying that he’s not above butting in and throwing out some advice, be it wanted or not, especially with regards to people’s studies.

Backstory:
Scott grew up a pretty isolated kid, not that it actually bothered him much, his parents were very rich, or at least that’s all he understood as a kid. What it meant is that whenever he decided that he wanted something it tended to be given to him whenever he wanted. All the latest gadgets, bits of tech, phones, whatever, it was his.

It was his own choice to go to a “normal” high-school, though this did come with the additional promise of extra classes after the main ones. Despite all this he threw himself into school life, joining whatever local club or group he could, trying something new almost every week. (Though he always stayed longer in non-sporty things) Even so he managed to somehow settle down in one aspect - his group of friends.

Even though he wasn’t around as much as many of the others could be, he’d always be around whenever he could, just hanging out with them. As he graduated high school and moved off to college to study a business major he’d still always find some time to stick around and meet up with their lil group of friends,

Skills/Weapons: Very few combat skills to speak of. When he made the decision to become a vigilante he grabs himself a shield and baton

Name: Matthew Cole Sykes

Alias: Home Run

Looks: Cole stand at a respectable 5' 9", with a lean, bordering on a wiry frame. But the toned muscle in his arms and legs are evidence of his strength. He maintains a head of frizzy brown hair and his skin is a deep, dark chocolate brown, just like his eyes. Cole's normal clothing choices are (almost always) a varsity jacket (black torso, white sleeves and accents) over a simple t-shirt, usually plain in design or emblazoned with any manner of "gangster"-type logos and designs, with denim jeans and sneakers. If his varsity jacket isn't available, he usually has a sleeveless baseball jersey that he wears underneath a generic hoodie of some form and design. There is always a faux gold chain around his neck, not the low-hanging variety but an actual necklace on which hangs a small locket and a small pendant in the shape of a baseball. If he's going out for a day to skate or hang out with friends, he almost always has a backpack with his skateboard strapped to the front, which hangs loosely from his shoulders.

His eventual costume is very similar to his civilian gear, except with a clear baseball theme: a proper baseball jersey or one of his varsity jackets, gloves, cleats and pants, along with a balaclava that he wears underneath a catcher's mask to conceal his identity. He also wears elbow and knee pads to help him with sliding or protecting his joints.

Occupation: Cashier at a 7/11.

Personality: Cole was brought up as a loyal young man who was taught to respect his elders and pay attention in class. Things he promptly forgot when he broke through into his late teens, instead developing a rather storied hatred for authority and a disdain for adult figures in general. But the lessons he learned about loyalty still remained, and as such, he is very loyal to those he considers as friends. The cliques he was a part of in high school and the few friends he has at the skate parks and batting cages of Long Beach all tell the same story: that Cole was always there whenever friends gathered to eat or to hang out, and that he was an integral part of their friendships and lives. He cares about his friends and sometimes goes to absurd lengths to check on them or to make sure they're okay, often flexing what street cred he has to ensure his buddies don't get harassed by the wrong people.

Backstory: Unlike many of his friends, Cole wasn't raised in the better districts of Long Beach. Rather, he grew up in near-poverty, scrimping and saving with his two brothers and two sisters to get by while his mom and dad raised their big family as best as they could. When he was growing up and attending school with his siblings, he was often picked on for being small in size compared to his elder brothers who towered over him in his teens. But he got by, learning how to fight and how to be tough in order to stand up to any would-be bullies, impressing his brothers and infuriating his teachers and parents.

But things wouldn't always be smooth for young Cole. One of his brothers, disillusioned with the lack of promise that his life had, decided to drop out of school and become a gangster. A criminal. He would often be gone from home for extended periods of time, and the times that he did return was to beg for money from his parents or to sleep off whatever drug-induced hangover he was recovering from that day. It stressed out his mother, angered his father, and made his other siblings worried for his safety. But Cole was also an impressionable youth; he saw his brother's acts as being "tough" and becoming the man he always wanted to be, and the young boy followed in his elder brother's footsteps as soon as he could, embroiling himself in the same gang and becoming a delinquent. By the time he was 17, he was a local legend in his school, having almost been arrested by cops several times for noise disturbances and defacing public property. All while maintaining healthy friendships in school and a good interest in track and field and sports. With ill-gotten gains that were never discovered by his parents, gotten through stealing and fencing minor goods, he got his own skateboard and a second-hand baseball bat to further fuel his legitimate hobbies.

However, there was one event that turned his life around for the better, a tragedy that shaped the rest of his school days forever. His elder brother, a full fledged gangbanger, was gunned down by a rival gang in retaliation for a territory grab and dissing their leader. He died before he could even reach the hospital. Distraught and traumatised, Cole could only watch as his family struggled not to fall apart, bearing the wrath of his father for having followed in his dead brother's footsteps. That was when he swore off the gang business, threw in all his cards and tried to turn his life around. He cut ties with whatever criminal elements he was in contact with and attempted to focus on his studies, with some measure of success. He graduated, at the very least, and kept up with his skateboarding and baseball hobbies, but his prospects were...limited. But Cole had one goal in mind: baseball. He loved the sport and saw himself, one day, as being a player in a Major League team, representing his team and playing in the big leagues. That goal, however, was still far away, but he didn't care. The young man got a job as a cashier to help pay for batting cage practice and saving up to, just maybe, get membership in a smaller league to play for his city and not be the former delinquent he used to be.

Skills/Weapons:

• Agility and Speed; having hobbies that involved athletics meant that Cole was always on top form, physically. Running track, playing baseball and keeping up with the latest skate tricks all required him to maintain himself physically and that has carried over to his new adult life.
• Street Smarts; Cole's been there, on those dirty streets, being a juvenile delinquent in high school and mixing with the wrong crowd. Sure, he's learned his lesson and doesn't hang out in those places any more, but that doesn't mean he's lost his touch in identifying places where criminals like to roam.
• Skateboarder; Cole loves to skateboard and it is one of his favourite past times, right up there with playing baseball.
• Batting Strength; physically training himself to one day become a professional baseball players meant hours of practice spent in indoor batting cages in Long Beach, or playing pick-up games with other locals in small diamonds. But he's trained himself to hit one hell of a home run, even though he isn't at the professional level yet.
• Weapons - Louisville P72 Slugger/Element Calavera Skateboard; his two prized possessions. An aluminium baseball bat adorned with stickers of various baseball teams, and a skateboard from Element with his own custom design on the bottom.

Other: Cole loves music and listens to it almost constantly on his phone on a pair of off-white, Apple earbud knock-offs.
