Hello!
Thank goodness the pinned topic on this forum gives you some ideas for what to write about here, because otherwise it'd just be "Hello!" and it wouldn't make for an interesting read. It'd be quick, at least, and something-something-the-soul-of-wit.
Roleplaying career: I usually do tabletop roleplaying games, though I did some play-by-post and chat-based stuff a while ago. Now that I've got more time to spend in front of my desk, I figured it was a good time - or at least, a less bad time - to dip my feet back into play-by-post stuff on forums. Hopefully I'll be a good fit and, once I've got some time as a player under my belt and worked out what's popular, I'll run my own game. Of something not popular, just on general principle.
Roleplaying preferences: I'm one of those "I'll try anything once" sorts. While I generally prefer group games, for the right person and the right plot, I'll do one-on-one things. Long posts? Short posts? I don't mind! As long as there's stuff to work off, as long as it keeps things moving forward, it's all good. Favourite genres? The standard roleplaying fare of fantasy and science fiction are favourites, and I generally enjoy writing things that aren't entirely serious. Dour and grim has a place sometimes, but the stories that make me sit up and pay attention are often ones that don't take themselves too seriously, whether that's in the setting or the characters or just prose full of references to other stuff that make me laugh.
Hobbies and interests: General geek-y things. Reading! Playing various types of games! Staying indoors and shrivelling up into something vaguely-prune shaped when exposed to the sun! I have a weird soft spot for tanks! I spend my free time making dumb bits of music and making, then wearing, silly costumes! It turns out I'm really into exclamation marks!
In short - hello!
