Basic Rundown:

This roleplay is turn-based. Meaning you get one action every turn. You will be presented with choices on how to advance your civ. Every turn, your population grows and you are presented with new choices and sometimes hardships.
The roleplay begins with your people coming to a new land, an unexplored continent where anything can happen. Your people are few and your supplies are low. Perhaps you came here as settlers, or perhaps you fled after your homelands were destroyed, or perhaps you are simply a new civilization that has sprung upon this continent. Whatever you are and wherever you are from, you must find ways to adapt, survive and thrive here. You know very little of these lands.
Most certainly there are other civilizations on this continent and other races that may become your allies or enemies, but you do now yet know.

Your options each turn are these:
A) Improve food
B) Improve military technology
C) Improve infrastructure
D) Improve culture
E) Explore
F) Improve resources/technology
G) Prospect further
H) Expand military
I) Take diplomatic action
X) Other


Furthermore, these stats will be shown every new turn:

Population: – How large your combined population is. Lists each settlement once you get more than 1. Affected by growth and food level and so on.
Military: – How large your professional army is, as well as how many commoners can be drafted to militia in a crisis.
Food level: – How much food you have to go around. Will affect morale and growth where a surplus will lead to happier people and faster growth.
Resources: – A list of resources you are harvesting and thus available to you to use or export.
Wealth: – How wealthy you are considered to be. Not all races care about bling, though.
Trade: – With whom you are trading and what you’re importing/exporting.
Growth: – A percentage of your total population will increase or decrease depending on if your growth is good or bad. An average growth increase per turn is 3%, good growth 5%, bad growth 1%, and so on.
Morale: – Ranging from 0% to 100%, morale affects combat, growth and general well-being events of your people. A content (average) populace is considered 100%.
Foreign relations: - Displays a list of other civilizations you have met and how well you like each other.

Each action from A to I present different opportunities and different consequences (good and bad). You may choose one of these per turn and preferably write up a post about how you, for example, "Improve food". Depending on how good and thought-out your post is, you may combine one choice with another. For example, while improving your "food", you discover how to create farms and thus also improve your infrastructure in the process. the X-action is an action of your own that is not in the list of choices from A to I. You may write and attempt whatever you want in the X-action, and I may or may not grant you what you hope for.

So how do I start?

How do I join if you already started?

Make sure that there is room to join first! Below you will find a list of active players, and at the very top of the thread there should be a "status" line with either green, yellow or red text. It's either open, pending or full. Also, read the information about “So how do I start?” above.

Rules and regulations:

All roleplays have rules. I expect you to know the basics like:
  • Don't godmode.
  • Don't metagame.
  • Don't be an rude to other players.

However there are some other rules you should know about:
  • Never wipe a player out completely unless he or she has given his or her consent.
  • Don't focus on "winning", it's about playing the game and enjoying it together.
  • It is okay to attack or raid another civilization freely as long as you have discovered them and scouted out the target first. Just don't expect it to always go your way.
  • Don't expect to never be met with setbacks or hardships. I will give you all good and bad consequences as well as random events depending on your choices.
  • My word is law. As the GM, I reserve the right to "toss you out" of the RP, and in conflicts or squabbles I have the last say.

Also, here are some regulations that aren't "DON'T"'s
  • Non-player nations are free to be conquered, raided, wiped out or otherwise warred with however you want.
  • Any questions and OOC-chat should be kept here in the OOC thread (obviously).
  • When plotting with a player against another player, I recommend you take it to PM to avoid metagaming.
  • When plotting as mentioned above, I want to be kept in the loop as the GM, to avoid misunderstandings and to avoid conflicts OOC.
  • You may otherwise choose PM or public IC post however you wish when communicating with other nations.
  • If you don't want to play one civ anymore but rather want another, tell me in the OOC and I will arrange a "natural disaster" for your people or take it over as a non-player civ.
  • When starting over with a new civ, you will be given some bonuses to help you catch up, but not too much.
  • There is no enforced limit of posts per turn, however you may only take your A-I choices once per turn. Also, don't speedpost. I want to see meaning and depth in those posts if you decide to post several per turn. (When you interact with other players this is crucial)

Info About Custom Races:

The reason why we have a preset list of races and subraces is so that I as a GM can easily paint the world around you using my own notes and ideas that I’ve put down when creating this world. Still, I want to encourage individualism and so custom races is fine, however it’s harder to make things up on the spot if I don’t see things the way you, the player, see things about your race. Wether you choose from the list or make your own race, I encourage you to talk about what you want with your civilization, what your hopes are, what you aim for in the RP, if there’s a specific hook that you’re going for and so on so that I can narrate accordingly and fitting your vision. That said, it’s much easier to narrate a world when you know exactly what’s in it.

History:
The seas ceased to rise and the weather became uncertain in the days after the moon fell. Across distant oceans the court wizards of the Kingdom of Sandovarra befuddled at the disappearance of the moon were called to answer for what had happened. Across stormy and clear nights they sought to scour the skies themselves and collected any hint of evidence that would indicate a theory from whence to pursue. But to no avail, they could find nothing from the cloistered royal seat of the Sandovarran kingdom. Their failures shot through the small insular court a haranguing of argument as winters fell early and left with shocking rapidity. An apocalyptic scenario seemed to have befell the world without the pearl of the White Dragon, the moon. It came to a head that with violence the king cast from his court hundreds of courtiers and nobles who had grown heavy on his patience and they wailed from outside the city walls to be let back into civilization, but the king had shut his doors to them.

In the rising arguments and more and more purges threatened the suggestion was posed to send an expedition to search for it. “After all.” said a prince at court, “Where could the moon have gone if not down below the horizon where we can not see it?”

The suggestion put the court at ease and they had a plan of attack on which to attach themselves. However, the proposal carried a price to pay for the prince who having offered the suggestion would be forced to leave the confines of the royal palace and city and leave Herarri. Perhaps for all time. But the poet mastermind that was the prince bolstered his confidence at the opportunity to put his plan into action and perhaps be named Heir Apparent by the ailing king and he gathered together his retinue, his attendants, and all his cohort and left the royal city for the country-side.

The mission to construct the expedition the prince knew would not simply be a matter of recruitment and contracting worthy volunteers. While the king had endowed him with a hearty purse to put things underway leveraging the abled bodies would be a hard thing to do. He would need a flotilla he imagined, and hearty seamen could not just be raised from the soil. And in the times since the moon dropped and court purges had exiled many hundreds of angry nobles into the countryside the realm was looking uncertain as the stability of court and the realm were both thrown into question. As such, the mission to recruit and to build became that of a military campaign across the realm to acquire men to comply with royal orders and to seize what resources which can be carried off for the port given to the prince by the king. The war which lasted eight years laid waste to the ancient foundations of five old houses and the prince nearly emptied entire baronies to bring the people to the sea to build and equip his navy.

At the end of the ninth year the Prince had his flotilla, and sending out across storm black seas he went in search across the ocean for the lost moon. Leaving well behind him the very center of the world.

The expedition traveled to foreign lands and back again across several decades. While it found no moon it established new frontiers, brought to the court new riches and new sources of tribute to the king. The Prince's efforts were so bountiful that while he was never named Heir Apparent he was named Domi D'Expediao, Lord of the Expedition. The Expedition itself transforming into an institution and a court away from court as in intervening years nobles cast from the royal court in shame shuffled to the Expedition to seek redemption under its great unfurling sails.

The Expedition carried on for decades more and the Domi D'Expediao died of age at sea. Never to be laid to rest in his home country under the boughs and in the shade of the orange trees of the court he was wrapped in the banner of the expedition and dropped into the steel gray sea in ceremony and state. His hand was cut off, and place into a vase so that it could be delivered back to home where one part of him may be laid to rest in Sandovarra soil.

The command of the expedition passed on in election to a young officer considered second to the Domi D'Expediao and Gabraldi Samprosio SantoSillisia DiCorlone was declared the new admiral of the mission. Under his command the expedition continued to spread out to seek out the moon, and Gabraldi ordered his command to see out the land of Haleath, which some ports had whispered was where the Moon had gone.

May the grace of the divine and the purity of soul, in the name of his highness the King and Son of Roalumi guide the hand of the faithful to put the moon back in its throne.

@Nate1008 Looking good so far. These lizardmen supposed to be tribal savages? How are they in terms of using magic? And how fast/slow are they to reproduce? I see it's a WIP so don't worry about answering those questions quick :P

The West Underwood Trading Company

Type of Government: The governmental structure of the West Underwood Trading Company within any overseas territory is overseen by a Lord-Trader, often a matriarchal role, who then establishes a smaller assembly to govern the local people. However, the Lord-Trader must adhere to all Company laws and charters bestowed unto them by the Underwood Monarchy, failure to do so results in immediate termination of employment.

Religion: The religion with the Underwood is a mixed bag, as slaves were brought to the capital were often of other religions and forcing another unto them is to spell endless unrest for the nation. The Dark Elf majority however, praised the Pantheon of the Oracle, a religion revolving around the all knowing Oracle, who knows all events past and future. Any other god within the pantheon is a variation of a god native to the slave population with the Underwood. As such, the West Underwood Trading Company adopts such ideals as well.

History:

The story of the West Underwood Trading Company is very simply to be put as less of a colonial venture rather than the economic force within the Drow nation known as Underwood. Founded nearly fifty years ago by the Magistrate Xullda Helvisek, the West Underwood Trading Company had gotten ahead of most trading companies within the Underwood by the pure chance of being back by ruling family of Underwood. Such prestige backing the company made the stock within the company skyrocket and when those who could buy them did so, riches often came as the money that had been used for the stock, rather than being used for any corrupt or undesirable action, would always further the company.

Within a span of ten years, the company had constructed over twelve different trading posts and had bought out two other trading companies. However, the prime rival of the company had invested heavily into exploration before successfully expanding to another, foreign land. This was a worry to Magistrate Xullda as that would allow further expansion while the West Underwood Trading Company would be significantly more limited, however, with a royal treasury backing them, they were swiftly able to put together an exploration fleet to try and sail farther than the other company.

In the end, after a voyage lasting eleven months at sea, the new land has been founded and christened as Xulldaland… only temporarily before Magistrate Xullda shot down the name, believing it to be far too narcissistic. However, with the new land within sight, Xullda did put together what she could, often being caught within the metaphorical red tape of royals. Many nobles scrambled for the opportunity to rule over a new trading post in a new colonial land, however, it was the Magistrate’s own daughter who had been chosen to settle the first town and the first trading port.

Deepcrest was ahead of them, and they knew profit was to be had and slaves were to be taken.

I'm new to this if it's a game, or just a made up rp. I rp'ed before for bout 2 years so. Note, english is second, And I'm making up locations so

guvernment of the capital, The intire guvernment of the capital is ruled by king Mathidon the fifth, his next children, and several of his most trusted. He is paranoyd enough to take matters into his own hand. Employment is by him and him alone as he always has a task that someone else can do for him. His standerds are very high. If he is not happy with your work, he may either not give you any of the offered cash or reward. He is known to be often harsh. Many rebels were mysteriously disbanded after a leader dies suddenly. Many people theorize he uses poisons.

location, The location is unknown. The capital started off as a rather small village discovered by the now deceased Septimus which is improved to what it is now.
Guvernment for the smaller woods,
The smaller woods has no leader accept for the seporated clans of eithos and tal
religion for the smaller woods, they worship any form of nature. Some have even been known to have dangerous but trained animals for battle.
history, once, the intire quaro capital lived together with the now name smaller woods to build and improve upon the capital with thousands of minds that supplied the ideas for mind boggling defenses. .
That is, until the attacks.
One day, as the smaller woods had finished building defenses around the capital's walls, they were surrounded by capital soldiers. The soldiers started charging at the smaller woods, and with anger, the smaller woods fought back with their building tools, hammers which were heavy, throwing bricks, wood, and making chaos. Many of the soldiers had fallen, and with a last effort, they drew back, formed into one group from left to right, and slammed the hammers hard enough to crush most of the soldiers. This was a distraction however, for exactly 250 men had faced back and done the same to the walls, crushing the intire defenses and allowing escape.
As the quarterelfs escaped, with the same 250 elvs remaining, With their magic, they sealed off the exit once more, and made a path outside of the capital.

The quarterelfs are a race of elvs who have more human than elven blood running through their veins. They are slightly taller and swifter than most humans, smarter, but their strength is the same as a human's.
The only skills remaining from the elven side is their swiftness, the worship of nature, and their magic/stealth
Meron the second(I play this character if I'm even in. I think I may be too late to make an intire character but yeah, at least I'll make this one if joining is over and there's gonna be another part soon or so.

Meron is a normal quarterelf. He acts as leader for the tal clan. Their simble is an oddly shaped rune that curves upwords to collide with the rune khal, which is for home or dwelling.
The clan uses spears and bows, with some using swords, knives, and daggers. They have a rather large hut hidden by a cupple of trees that are rather close.
Meron prefers using daggers, spears, and swords, though he has trained to use warhammers and other types of weaponry.
He has no beard, but his hair is very long, reaching to his shoulders .

I messed this up, didn't I? I'll play as dainerim. I am one of the quarterelf of the clan tal. I mastered my magical abilities, but then got sent to other univerces, where I had tasks set for me by magic, or something like that. When the univerce I inhabited collapsed it's moon, magic wouldn't force me to pop out of the univerce so I could stay in the story.
