Vlad signaled the guards to bring the teen to dining room. He has set up a buffet for them. He had put out many of the teens favorite foods. He was hoping the food would distract them. This was the first time they would interact. He could hardly wait to begin the next step in his plan. He would prove his theory. He but first he had to turn teens into soldiers. It would be an interesting challenge.

Blair walked into the room, not resisting, nor fighting the guards at the slightest. She let them walk her to her seat, where she sat down. "You can go now," She said basically shooing him away as she sat down grabbing the fried chicken for her plate. She looked around at the other teens refusing to be the one to break the silence. Instead took a bite of her food.

Admittedly, Blake would have been perfectly content staying alone in his cell, at least ever since that animal DNA in him had heightened his senses to a point where he was much too easily overwhelmed. He could pick up the breathing and footsteps of the guards as they walked by, and he could pretty accurately tell how far off they were and when they would be passing his cell. He could hear doors opening and shutting along the corridor, and without looking up, he knew that one had just stopped right in front of his. He heard the click of the key turning in the lock, yet the jittery teenager still flinched as the door swung open. The guard motioned for him to step out, with which he complied.

Upon entering the dining room, Blake was hit with a plethora of scents coming from the buffet. He winced again at the overload, after which he slowly made his way to a seat at the table. He was rather surprised at the feast, not expecting it from an organization that was treating them as lab rats. He stared at the food for a long moment, hesitating to grab a bite with the smell already being a little too much for him. However, the red fluid oozing from a slab of steak he had caught sight of did seem quite tempting... He shook his head, snapping out of it. No, it must be all in his mind. He glanced around at the others at the table, meeting the gaze of a teenage girl with fried chicken at one point. He only nodded awkwardly and looked away.

Roxy wasn't like the rest. She hadn't volunteered. When the guards came to her door she bared her teeth at them but followed them she knew from past experience that they would used the tranqs. She was not willing to be unconscious around these people ever again. She stormed through the halls towards the dining room.

The others were suppose to be joining her today. She couldn't see who was crazy enough to volunteer for the old loon's experiment. Knowing Vlad he had made it seem something that was on the up and up. Rather than a government experiment that only a few people knew about. Few people would approve of experimenting on humans in this way. DNA splicing was still a very highly debated topic.

Roxy opened the door to the dinning room and studied the two people in the room. She didn't consider either of them a threat. Her nose told her that both were prey. Or at least their animals were. She slowly made her way to the table. She took a couple of steaks on her plate. "What are you in for?" She asked. She was curious if they would be an asset or not since she was sick working with Them. She needed to know their strengths and weaknesses.

Blair dazed back at Blake glinting her eyes at him still stuffing her face. She looked over at Roxy, paying little to no attention to her inappropriate demeanor walking in. She smirked at the question chewing the rest of her meat before answering.

"No introductions, just down to business. I dig that."

Sensing hostility from Fried Chicken Girl, Blake decided turn his focus back to the feast to busy himself with something else. He last had his eyes on the steak, and figured, why not? He stood and leaned over to push a slab onto his plate, after which he nearly dropped it as he flinched yet again, this time at the door to the dining room swinging open. Boy, was he tense. He had to calm down. Hopefully, they had a way for him to control his reflexes and cope with his heightened senses.

Another girl had walked in, and was heading over to grab some food. She was the first to speak, and he raised an eyebrow at the first girl who made a comment as a response, but did not quite answer the question. He waited a couple of seconds, and when he was certain that she was not going to say any more, he then gave his own reply as he picked at the steak on his plate.

"Put bullets into some other kids who were trying to hurt me. Probably not too impressive. How about you?"

Roxy raised an eyebrow. There was nothing wrong with self defense. But it wasn't that impressive. Still it was something that she could build on. "I've heard worse." She turned her attention to the girl who hadn't answered her question. She knew that the girl had done it on purpose. The girls attitude was going to be a problem. It was clear being put on death row had taught her anything. Which meant the woman was going to end up getting tazed or tranqed a lot.

"You're going to slow this whole process down." Roxy was annoyed but not surprised. They were all criminals. Following the rules and respecting authority wasn't really their strong suit. How Vlad planned to make a team out of them she had no idea. The fact that they survived when others hadn't said they could survive. Which would come in handy.

"So killing seems to be a theme." There were supposed to do missions deemed too dangerous for humans soldiers so it made sense that they all be comfortable killing. Maybe the tests would tell her more.

Blair smirked listening to the two's conversation. A psychopathic girl who thinks she has everything figured out, and another who got in jail for self-defense. Okay, he was fooling no one, and she knew there was more to that story, but she didn't really care. She eyed Roxy as she mentioned the killing theme, twisting her head. "Maybe it is," She turned to Vlad, the guy who she knew to run all of these experiments. She sat up straighter placing her hands in front of her. "May we begin to the reason we are here? Ya know that speech that begins a mission in every action movie." She knew what she was there for, but she'd rather hear it again than endure this brutal get-to-know-you conversation.

"You're not ready to go on a mission Blair. The three of you need to learn to work together. Which means talking while you eat. Then we will try a training mission. Considering how independant all of you are I doubt you will work well enough together to be allowed to go out for some time." It hadn't been easy to get human DNA to accept the animal DNA. They had lost several before they found a method that worked. Now that he had a few survivors he wasn't going to waste them. While they had volunteered and knew death would the consequence there was going to be someone who thought they could outsmart the system and try to escape. He was eager to see who would try first.

Blake looked up from his plate at the second girl's comment on what he had said, and eyed her curiously. "You've heard worse? Perhaps you've done worse. How bad is bad for you? I could probably tell if I knew whether or not you're assuming that those kids I shot are dead."

He saw no point in hiding the details, that is, if he was to be asked about them. It was a known fact that everyone at the table was there because they had done something they were not supposed to, and he was fairly certain that even if all of them were open books, it would do little to build any trust among them. This was more of a session for them to size one another up, figure out how to deal with one another if they had to work together regardless of whether or not they eventually became friends. From what he had currently gathered, friendships seemed unlikely, but who was to say what could happen?

Miss Fried Chicken then got the attention of the scientist in charge of this weird project. He called her 'Blair'. That name was simple enough. Blake doubted that more talking right now would help their effectiveness as a team. Some training would be good though. Everyone in the group needed to know what the others were capable of. They needed to be aware of their own capabilities as well, and they had not officially gotten to that stage yet. Sure, some of his animal abilities had manifested already, but what else could he do?

Blair bit the edge of her lip hearing Vlads response. She shrugged, twisting her head to face the conversation they were having now. She twisted her head to look at Roxy. The girl that wanted all the information but didn't want to give it out. She couldn't say she would either, she was still didn't give a hell what anyone thought of her- so why not seem like the weak one here. "Beats me. I'm here because I was framed and wanted to make the best time out of it. Ya know? " The judge didn't buy it but maybe they would.

Roxy snorted. "Sure Blair. We all believe you." She replied sarcastically. She was sure that the woman wasn't innocent. None of them were. There was no way that the participants that were accepted into the program hadn't been carefully screened. There were there because no one would miss them if they disappeared. While most of them. It wasn't likely that Blair or the boy had family or friends that would be looking for them.

She finished off her steak. "Since she's totally incapable of helping in anyway she doesn't get the benefits of missions right?" She asked Vlad. She figured if Blair didn't want to do the work she wouldn't get the rewards. That was how it worked right?

"Anyone who proved unable to prove that they are an assess outside the lab will be a test subject until they became an asset or die." Vlad didn't want to waste the subjects he had. He would use them in any way he could until he couldn't use them any more. He was pretty sure these three could be beneficial if he could get them to work together. That was going to be the challenge. They needed to want to work together and right now they didn't.

Blake nodded to himself when the dark-haired girl said nothing more in response to him and turned her attention to Blair, who was seemingly attempting to play innocent after that bit of attitude she had shown earlier. It was clear that the former had lost interest in him, instead choosing to target Blair because of her unconvincing statement, but he figured that nothing good could have come out of keeping her attention anyway, at least for now. The scientist had an answer for her that admittedly scared him a little. It was not exactly up to them how quickly they could learn to control their abilities, or how well they could use them. His eyes widened slightly at the reply, but he quickly looked back down at his plate to distract himself from the topic.

While he observed the piece of meat, which was still sizzling slightly, something other than his heightened sense of smell seemed to be going off around his nasal area. The signals being sent to his mind was making him aware of every tiny drop of juice splattering from the meat. He could sense them cooling off as they each hit a surface. The temperature of the steak itself was suddenly strangely apparent to him. A biological heat sensor, it had to be. It was pretty cool, but he wondered how it would help him in any way. Currently, however, he should... get to eating his food. The others had dug in, and he would just be the weird one staring at things if he did not at least try to ignore what his senses were doing to him.

She half laughed at the fact that she knew immediately. "I know, that's crazy. That's what I told my lawyers." She shrugged eyeing Roxy. She somewhat started she had to give her that, she saw impatience and most likely the waiting ache to kill another thing in her. She felt it a little bit and was the only reason she knew it existed.

She then turned her gaze over to Blake who didn't say anything to her, but saw the widening crease in his eyes, that she didn't plan to address yet, before turning to Vlad.

"Oh, so you doubt that certain people here have enough ability to fight? Is that why there's only three of us because for an army you need a lot more than that." She smirked raising an eyebrow at him. "Are we supposed to be an animal pact of power rangers?"

"There are only three of you because your the only ones who have survived the process. We are still working on the process." Vlad said as he moved towards the door. "When you're done the guard will take you to the testing room. Remember you are here on a volunteer basis. You either cooperate or we kill you." Sending them back wasn't possible. They were nonhuman enough that a normal prison wouldn't hold them. A high security facility might be able to hold them but he wasn't taking an risks.

Roxy waited until the doors were closed. She was sure they were being monitored but at least it felt like they were talking privately. She sat on top of the table while she studied her companions. "I know what motivated me to volunteer. I'm not about to share that with you. Your reasons are your own. But if either of you get in my way you will regret it."

Blake wished that these girls would stop asking the scientist questions, at least for now. His answers seemed to progressively get more disturbing with every new question, and as Blake was cutting into his steak, Vlad's last response caused the hand holding his knife to quiver slightly. The boy hoped he had realized and caught himself before anyone noticed. They were the only ones who had survived? How many had there been? He suddenly had that question on the tip of his own tongue, but the scientist had proceeded to leave the area. Perhaps it would be best if he did not know the answer to it.

Once Vlad was gone, Blake let out a sigh and was about to go on with his meal when the dark-haired girl propped herself onto the table to look over at him and Blair. He glanced up at her with an awkward "Excuse you," look, and listened to what she had to say. He turned briefly to Blair to see how she was taking it before nodding and turning his attention back to his food as he responded.

"Classic. Do what you want," he muttered, and then chucked a cube of meat into his mouth. As he chewed it, however, he recognized that leaving it at that could be rather dangerous, and felt the need to add to it. "Just leave me out of whatever it might be."

Blair heard that they were the only ones that survived, but she still smirked. That proved her point a little bit, not directly but somewhat. It also hinted that he was unsure and nervous about the delivery of this program. He was desperate- that was the word her mind would be placid to search for. She watched the guy leave twisting her lip. Wow, he was already sick of being around him.

She looked back at Blair and the other girl before shrugging and taking a wide bite of food. Then the girl propped on the table. She didn't jump but instead looked up at her confused.

"Have you already forgot how to be human?" She raised an eyebrow as she gave her speech about getting in her way, and she couldn't help but laugh. "I'll take that challenge. " She then took another bite of her chicken.

"You're a little crazy aren't you Blair?" Roxy asked as she took a bite of the stake. She wasn't impressed by Blair's threat. She knew she could take the other girl out if she needed to. She didn't even need weapons to do it. Which was good since none of them were going to be allowed near weapons for awhile.

She thought they had carefully looked over all the files of those in the program but someone apparently had missed something in the other girls' file. "You're one of those people who courts death just because it makes life a little more interesting." She commented as she ate. It was a shame. She was sure that Blair had skill but it was clear she was one of those cocky people who felt like they had to constantly prove they were the best.

"You obviously didn't join because you want to live. And you didn't join to try to escape prison." Roxy studied Blair. Some had tried to escape. It was one of the reason they weren't here. They had tried to escaped and had been killed for it. There were enough people on death row that the government had told Vlad to kill anyone who crossed the line.

"Sorry boy. You can't be left out. You joined this crazy project which means you have to deal with the consequences of her actions as much as I do. No one is an island." Roxy told him.

Blair shrugged watching the girl eye her down. She knew what she was doing, trying to guess everything about her life. A strategy that she, herself has done countless times. The difference, she never had to say it out loud. She had to admit it was a good strategy if you were looking for confirmation, but she knew she was better than that.

So she tilted her head her eyes looked at her, not blankly but with amusement. Where she listened to everything the girl had to say.

"I wouldn't coin the word crazy, but I have to admit money is money, and a job is a job" She shrugged, smirking at the girl and looking back at Blake. "At least I'm not throwing a fit because I'm scared how other people's actions may affect me. What a child."

She stood up, pushing her plate forward on the table. "I'm going to excuse myself. Have a good night." She turned around pushing in the chair. She knew the girl would want to attack her at that very moment, but she also knew they were being watched, and that would look really bad for her. She then turned around and began to walk back to her cage.

"This isn't a job and we aren't getting paid Blair." Roxy pointed out. She would understand money being someone that would lure people to the group but not the kind that could be trusted.

The guards moved to block the door. "You aren't allowed to return to your room until Vlad says so. He told us to keep you here until all of you are ready to go to the testing grounds." The man told her.

"Looks like you are going to have to learn to play with others." Roxy chuckled as she took another bite. She knew they were going to have to learn to work together and Blair was going to make that as difficult as possible.
