Background
Following the wake of a young hero defeating the diabolical Team Galactic and the legendary Pokémon, Giratina, the Pokétopia Foundation has seen enormous success alongside their brother facility, the Battle Frontier. However, as the years began to pass, what novelty the Foundation once had all but disappeared—the coliseums left empty by challengers that had since moved on to greater and bigger stages.
In a desperate attempt to rekindle the love people once had for their island Pokémon paradise, the Foundation contacted various archaeologists and museums, such as those in Pewter City or Oreburgh, to search ancient ruins for mythical items known as Z-Crystals and Mega Stones that could spice up the battle scene and, in turn, bring life back to the island. You, being a respected archaeologist or researcher, are among those contacted to explore the Hippowdon Temple in the Haruba Desert, where such items had been reported to be found.
However, because of their coveted nature, not everyone has good intentions when it comes to them. Team Unown, a small offshoot of Team Snagnem that broke off from the team as a direct result of Gonzap choosing to help one of the heroes of Orre take down Team Cipher and the XD-001 Project for good, has been seen prowling the desert and nearby temple. Travelers, village folk, and researchers alike have reported being bullied by Team Unown, with some having their Pokémon stolen outright.
Will our brave heroes be able to defeat Team Unown and complete their task, or will they fall victim to evil and be trapped forever within the sand dunes of the Hippowdon Temple?
Out of Character
Hey there! This is my attempt to make something slightly different to the standard Pokémon roleplay, but something still close to the typical formula. If I have your attention, I do have a few rules and guidelines to set out first:
- As this is a Casual roleplay, it will have Casual pacing and posting expectations. A post once a week is preferable, with two to three paragraphs at the minimum.
- This roleplay will only be accepting up to four players max (not including the GM), and so applications will be review-based, rather than the usual first come, first served.
- Any and all characters can have up to two Pokémon at the start. In addition, you may have one of them be a second stage Pokémon if that is what you prefer.
- Player characters must be an adult, and be in some sort of research field.
If you're okay with the above, then drop some interest! I'd love to answer any questions or concerns anyone might have as well.
