This here is a Slice of Life, style story set in the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe. The idea here is that there's no huge universal/ world-ending threat, just a bunch of duelists and their stories on their way to graduation and eventually the pro scene. The timeline is a bit different however as the story will take place in the distant future with the events of any anime after 5ds being non-cannon in our story. Duel Academy has changed and no longer places students in dorms based on skill, instead, they are placed based on their year with first years being in the Slifer red dorm and thrid years being in Obelisk blue. We're looking for a few more players to participate and I can't wait to see what people come up with.
We will be following the latest Master Rule set, in fact, we will be using what fans are calling Master Rule 5 with the new extra deck rules working the same way. This includes the most recent ban list. If the ban list changes then we will use something in world to allow for that change.
Please do not use top tier meta decks. I and my Co-Gms will be looking at tournament finishes to make sure this rule is being followed even though tournament play is on hold for now. the idea behind this rule is so that everyone has fun and doesn't just get swamped but OTK or FTK decks or decks that are so fast it's impossible to keep up. Have fun with it ^_^
Also pleases be warry of how you'll be progressing. You want to leave some room for improvement in your deck.
Please treat everyone with respect and any trash talking needs to be kept in character.
As for posting order, my general rule is that Everyone needs to get at least their first post up before we move on. once everyone has posted we can discuss what happens either we can keep a post order or we can just forget about it and move on.
Other than that all forum rules will apply please let us know if anything would prevent you from posting.
Name: Cameron Mason Age: 18 Gender: Male Brief History: Cameron always loved Duel Monsters. He enjoyed playing the card game with kids on the block, watching tournaments on TV, the whole deal. He wanted to be a professional duelist. His parents, particularly his mother, however did not support his desire. They wanted him to grow up and get a real job. They didn’t believe he could make a living what they believed to be a children’s card game. Of course, Cameron didn’t believe her. As soon as he was done with high school, he enrolled in the Duel Academy to learn from the best duelists in the world.
His mother of course didn’t like this idea one bit. However Cameron was an adult now, and free to make his own decisions. His mother allowed him to go, but with the condition that when this whole dueling nonsense fell through, he would go to college, and get a real job. Cameron was determined to prove her wrong.
Personality: Cameron is innocent, carefree, and seemingly always happy. He is a cheerful man who doesn't like to let bad things bother him. He always has a smile on his face even during the mort dire of situations, and is often in a good mood in general. He is an eternal optimist, and likes to see the good in every situation. He believes that if you focus on the positive, and ignore the bad, the bad stuff will just go away.
He is easily exciteable and hyperactive. In general he acts like a kid. Cameron has a passion for cute and pretty things. Most of his possessions are pink, he has a collection of plush toys and fashion dolls, his favorite foods are desserts and sweets, and has many other childish interests. Even the monsters he chooses to duel with are the kid friendly Toon Monsters. He duels to have fun more than to win. He’s not the type to be a sore loser.
Ace Card: Toon Kingdom (Toon Dark Magician Girl if it must be a monster, but his Ace being a Spell card makes more sense with this deck.)
Toon Mermaid x 3 Toon Gemini Elf x 3 Toon Goblin Attack Force x 3 Toon Cannon Soldier x 3 Toon Masked Sorcerer x 3 Toon Dark Magician Toon Dark Magician Girl Red Eyes Toon Dragon Toon Cyber Dragon
Comic Hand x 3 Mimicat x 3 Shadow Toon x 2 Toon Kingdom x 3 Toon Rollback x 2 Toon Table of Contents x 3
Brief History: Part of a family of scrappers and mechanics, it was no wonder how Jacklyn became interested in the Duel Monsters card game. Her enthusiasm for all things mechanical drew her into the card game, with it's depictions of massive, world-ending machines, ancient automatons, and alien destroying robots. Her parents, however, saw it as nothing more than a hobby, something to do when she had nothing else to do. But she wanted to prove them wrong. After promising one day to return to take over her family's mechanics shop, Jacklyn signed up and enrolled into Duel Academy, hoping to find inspiration that'll help her fine tune her glorious machines.
Personality: Being from a rough and tumble family, Jacklyn is a tomboy through and through. She ain't one for things that are girly and mainly devotes her attention to all things mechanical. Of course, that doesn't mean she's a recluse or bad with people. She's actually very outgoing and rearing to prove her worth to those around her, and when the topic of machines is on the line, she's very knowledgeable.
She has a very high tolerance level, but it can be put to it's limit when she has to interact with very stubborn or stuck up people. At some points she just wishes that she could punch someone if they annoy her too much, and if she isn't stopped she just might.

These look great you guys. My co-GM and I are gonna look over these decks tonight and I'll let you know the for sure answer. But for now, it all looks great I don't see a problem at all so far.
I don't think either the GM or I have major problems with custom cards, however you will have to send them to one of us so the two of us can talk it over and see if we approve of it or not.
@Darkmoon Angel Custom cards are fie but yeah as my friend there said just run things by us first. Also, yourself and @Crimson Flame can go ahead and move your character sheets over to the CS tab.
Okay, so forgive the double post here but I wanted to talk a bit on how duels and such are going to work because we have a few different options available. First, we can use a website called dueling book which allows us to create custom cards a bit easier but a lot of things are manual. Or we could use YGOPro which automates everything but is harder for custom card stuff if we ever need it. the idea is to play the game using one of those and using a google doc or whichever format you prefer for that. writing out the duel that way and having just one player post it. Second, we could just chat everything out in pm and never need the decklist outside of showing what cards are available to us. Then as like before one player will post the entire duel and we would all go from there.
The second thing I'd like to start discussing is Post order and when we're going to be starting. I've already started to plot out and write the OP and the idea is to forgo the entrance exam duels and just start off at what are the opening ceremonies. Once we have all made our first post that is when post order becomes a question mark for me. With this kind of game, I feel like post orders make things a bit sluggish. So I would prefer not to have one at all. Just be respectful ad give others time to post as well, you never know how something they post will affect what happens in your next post.
This still open to join? And I am guessing as one of the rules that we cant use a deck that some one else is using? (one of my fave decks is toons, but wouldnt want to step on any toes as I just checked what decks everyone is playing)
Ok so, most of the time I post here from my phone since my home computer is shared with a lot of people in the family, and I'd rather not be hogging it. So I can do whichever works on IOS.

Sorry for double posting, but I just saw your post.
I personally wouldn't mind if another person is also using toons. It would give our characters something to talk about. :3 Depends what the GMs say though.
I dont mind not using toons, as there are at least 2 or 3 other archtypes I wouldnt mind having (Crystal Beast, Battlin' Boxer, Maybe Gem knight (but i know thats too OTKish) or if not those, then a Krawler (pure of mix) or a Subterror deck and those are just off the top of my head :)
I don't mind two people using the same archetypes its a thing in the real world and hell even in GX we saw people using the same archetype at least for a short while with Aster Phoenix and Jaden both using Elemental HEROs. And we can all use different things depending on what each person I comfortable with so when it comes to duels just talk amongst each other in Pm or even here and figure it out.
Brief History: Made an orphan at an early age, with very little to remember his parents by, he was a loner at the orphanage, when he saw someone throw away a bunch of cards at the local park one day, curious he went to see what was thrown away (as with everyone else, able to recognise Duel Monster cards) and saw that it was a bunch of random things, a good chunk of the Krawler cards amongst them, after teaching himself the game (watching famous past duels and reading about it at the library), for the longest time, his cards where his only friend and confident (not having any human friends at the time, he would talk to his cards, thinking they could hear him) he was able to recently win a scholarship to attend duel academy, where he hopes to be able to make some friends.
Personality: A quiet loner, doesn’t speak more than the bare minimum required for any situation unless it’s talking to his cards – he is very academic and always puts his all in the pursuit of knowledge that interests him or allows him to improve his duelling technique.
Ace Monster: Guess for this deck it would have to be Qualiark
Deus x Krawler x1 Krawler Dendrite x1 Krawler Ranvier x1 Krawler recptor x2 Krawler glial x3 Morphing Jar x1 Krawler Axon x3 Krawler Spine x3
World Legacy Survivor x3 Worm Bait x2 Card of Demise x1 Scapegoat x1 World Legacy in Shadow x3
World Legacy Mind Meld x3 Needle Ceiling x3 Lost wind x2 Breakthrough skill x2 All-out attacks x2 World Legacy Pawns x3
Do say if there is anything i need to change or if I have a couple of monsters that are too powerful for the deck - and a question, what is the say on seeing/interacting with duel spirits?
EDIT: never been good with setting out long personality sections :(
@Vetis The GM and I approve of your character, so you can go ahead and move it over to the characters tab. Also, on the whole spirits monsters, we are totally okay with you having you character taking to his monsters like they can talk back, and the GM and will talk futher about how we want to handle that sort of thing a little later on and we will update you when we have all of that sorted.
