The nephilim was glad to see Faolan agree, although he could see his reluctance reflected in his eyes. raised his eyebrows slightly at Illyana's words. He could not help the smile that formed as Illyana described Faolan. Now a lot of things made sense, as to why the child felt a lot more at ease around him than most children. It seemed she could tell what kind of man Faolan really was. That.. made him a little happy. He glanced in Faolan's direction, his smile widening slightly.

Aurel glanced over at Bengal, who he had left on the cot. He couldn't deny Illyana's words. The connections he had with the snakes was undeniable. He had never met one that he hadn't been able to immediately get along with. It was strange to hear someone make such a deep observation about him.. but that understanding made him realize why she hadn't feared the snakes when she first saw them. Lucien and Faolan had always understood that there was a deep connection between them but.. it seemed with Illyana she could tell it was much more than that. It was nice to hear there was someone out there who could really see how much they meant to him.

Lucien then turned back to Illyana. "Then, we can work together to find someone who may be able to explain all this to you." He said, before pausing for a moment. There was a little bit of hesitance reflected in his tone before he spoke again.

"After we.. accomplish this, what is it that you'll want to do?" He asked her. If she wanted to stay with them, of course he would not deny her, but she had still seemed to have wanted to come back home even after what her parents had done. Did she still want to go find them despite that?

Illyana nodded at Lucien's assessment. She wasn't sure if she would be able to locate anyone, but she knew that she could at least help pin-point someone if they got close enough. As far as she knew, her abilities didn't work at great distances. She had tried sensing people before, and in fact, recently. When she had been hiking across the land searching for her home, she had tried to sit down, clear her mind, and search for the vibrations and mental signature that she associated with her parents and sister. It hadn't worked, but there was no telling whether she could learn, or if there was only a certain distance it worked within.

She would have said this, but at Lucien's question, however, she gave pause.

She knew what she wanted to do, and she knew why Lucien would ask her this. They had to be surprised that she wanted to return to parents that had abandoned her, there was no denying that. She knew that none of them would ever say this, but she could just feel it by the way he asked her, by the pause he left after. It wasn't about her parents though, it was about her sister. Isabella had been asleep when Illyana had been taken by their mother, and as far as Illy knew, her twin hadn't known anything about it. She was sure her parents had come up with a plan for what to tell her, something to keep her from asking questions...How long until their parents found out that Illyana hadn't been the only one of their children to inherent a deformity? And what would they do once it did come out...?

"I have to find Isabella," she said, her voice unwavering, "I need to be with my sister. Whatever it takes, I can't let them do to her what they did to me." She paused for a moment to shake the feeling that she was about to cry again, and mastered it with a deep breath. "My sister is...special. She doesn't have anything to show it, like I do, but she has abilities like mine. She doesn't have the dreams and she doesn't see things, but she can talk inside your head without moving her mouth, and sometimes she can move objects without touching them. As far as I can tell, it's not very strong, and my parents don't even know...but if they find out..." she paused again, dropping her eyes, "I don't know what they'll do to her."

Despite the fact that she and her twin were supposed to be identical, there really were many differences between them, including intelligence. That wasn't to say that Isabella wasn't smart, it was just that Illyana had always been smarter and had always been a little more mature. Isy could be naive, and sometimes selfish and bratty...Illyana knew that she wouldn't be able to handle her parent's rejection in the same way that she had. Isy was their favorite, their normal little girl, and was always treated that way. She didn't know her parent's cruelty, their ability to not care about their child...she had never had to witness it. Illyana had to find her before they found out, she had to protect her. She was the only one in the world that knew her secret and could save her from a life of fear. At least...she had to try.

That made much more sense.. her wanting to get back to her sister for that reason. It didn't sit well with Lucien to leave things as they were if there was a possibility they might abandon their other child. To this day the human's refusal to accept those that weren't what they considered normal still baffled him.

"I see.. it seems your sister is likely a different type of psychic... She could probably get away with hiding this for a while. We will do our best to help you find her." He told her, before glancing over at Faolan.

"For now.. it might be best to at least get a clue as to where they might have gone. It seems the home was sold to the bank. There's a chance I might be able to inquire some information from them." He said a little pensively. He was aware of his own.. persuasiveness, and this was a situation in which it would be best to make the most of it.

Faolan, as usual, listened in silence. He wasn't surprised to hear of Illyana's twin's abilities, in fact, it made more sense than her sister being completely human. However, he was surprised to hear that she was able to hide it for so long without her parents having any indication. It was lucky for the girl, but in a way, also dangerous. He could see the need in Illyana's eyes, hear it in her voice. He knew that this girl would not rest until she saw her sister safe...and he would have to help her as best he could. He'd had a sister once and had been unable to protect her...maybe this was his shot at redemption for the crimes of his past.

Normally, the Irishman again would have been hesitant to give consent for a plan like this. Speaking with high-profile people, especially those in finance, with regards to something that, as grifters, these men should have no interest in...well, it wasn't exactly the safest thing they could do. However, Faolan trusted in Lucien's natural charm and his ability to calm people. If anyone could do this subtly and do it right, it was the Nephilim. So, arms still crossed, Faolan nodded to show his support of the plan.

Illyana's eyes sparkled at Lucien's suggestion. She hadn't even thought of that! She had been too worried about using her abilities to find her sister, she didn't even think of tracking a paper trail. She could have never tried something like that on her own...if Lucien could find out where they moved to based on the bank records, maybe she would see her sister sooner than she ever imagined.

But one thing was nagging at her though, as this thought struck. In her vision, the one she had first seen Lucien, Faolan, and Aurel in, her sister was not there. It wasn't something she even had to try to remember, she would have known if she had seen her sister's face there...it would have stuck out to her more than anything. So, did being with Lucien and Faolan and Aurel mean that they wouldn't find her after all?

There were too many possibilities for what this could mean for her to settle on anything now. Right now, Lucien and Faolan were her best bet at not only finding her sister, but doing it before her secret was revealed. She had to trust in them, and herself. They were all she had.

"Alright," Faolan said, drawing everyone's attention, "I guess that means we're heading to the bank." He shrugged, flashed an uncertain grin at Lucien, and moved into the driver's seat of the bus.

Lucien was glad his suggestion had been accepted. He knew how Faolan could get when it came to talking to authorities like that, but he was a bit more used to doing such things. They headed for the bank, and Lucien was the one who went inside, finding it best he handle the situation alone. He had spent a good amount of time inside, partially making polite conversation with the man, but also inquiring on what it was he wanted to know.

Luckily the man wasn't too hard to get information from. It seems it had been a particularly slow day and he didn't mind the conversation. He had even commented on how odd it was that they were so desperate to sell their home. He hadn't been able to get information on where they had gone, but he had at least been able to get an address that they chose to redirect their mail to.

"Thank you so much for all your help, I do hope you have a good day." He said with a small nod, before he left to go back to the bus and share the information he had found.

"Sorry it took so long. The man quite enjoyed conversation." He said as he came inside.

"I didn't get the location of where they planned to move, but I do have the address they gave for their mail. It gives us somewhere to start. I assume it's a relative of yours. Perhaps they were willing to tell them a little bit more of where they were going." He told Illyana upon his return, handing her the paper he had been given.

Faolan, Aurel, and Illyana all waited on the bus while Lucien went into the bank branch to work his "magic". Faolan stayed up by the front of the bus, watching the entrance and keeping his nose and ears open for Lucien, but he sensed no danger here. As long as whoever he was talking to wasn't too interested in Lucien and what he was doing there, they would be fine. Faolan knew that the man was too smart to let anything show as a crack in their story, but it wasn't like the Irishman to relax before he was sure of their safety.

Illyana and Aurel got to eat some sandwiches while they waited, but the girl was silent. She was nervous, but excited. She had never felt this mix of emotions before quite so powerfully, so she was having some trouble processing them. She didn't know whether to be happy, scared, or miserable about her situation...she decided to just take everything as it came to her. For the time being, she was content with their plan, but the faster they got to her sister, the better for her. It had already been hard these last few weeks alone, the longer she was apart from her twin, the less whole she felt...

When Lucien returned, she nearly jumped up off of the bench to greet him. She took the paper from him and read it quickly. "Lorraine Murphy...?" she asked, looking up at Lucien. The name did sound slightly familiar, but if this person was a relative, why was her last name different? Illyana's parents almost never visited relatives, although they did send letters. Something was pulling at the back of Illyana's mind when she read the name, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Faolan was relieved to see Lucien return, and got up to see what he had gathered from the bank as well. He raised his eyebrows at the mention of the name. He knew that the girl had to have at least traces of Ireland in her blood, and this proved it. If this Murphy was a relation of hers, anyway.

"You don't recognize the name?" The Irishman asked, then held out a hand for the paper. Illyana shook her head and handed it over. Faolan read it, then grunted, "Well, the address is in New Jersey. That's not too far from here, we can be there within two days if I keep my foot down." He said, then approached the cabinets and withdrew a map book. He laid it out, flipped to the relevant page, and began tracing their course.

After a couple of minutes, he pointed out a spot on the map to Lucien. "Maybe even one day, but I'll need to get gas before, and we should probably stock up on some more supplies as well." They hadn't had a chance to go food shopping in some time, and their stores were running a bit low. Now that they had an extra mouth to feed, they would be going through their food a little quicker, even if the girl ate like a rabbit.

The Irishman caught a glimpse of the girl's dejected look and smiled at her, "Don't worry, we'll be quick. We know how to shop on a rush, don't we?" He looked to Lucien and Aurel at his question, hoping that they would further reassure Illyana of their seriousness in helping her.

Lucien let out a small chuckle. "Quite so. We get what we need and go, and don't usually unnecessarily linger if it's not needed." He reassured her, with Aurel nodding in agreement.

"I understand that you are in a hurry to get back to your sister. We'll do what we can to make this process as fast as possible, but I do want you to know that there will be stops necessary along the way. I'm sure you would rather reunite with your sister looking well, which means you have to take adequate breaks and eat properly, okay? I'm sure she would be happier to see that you were well taken care of." He told her, hoping she could see the bright side of things.

Considering how little he had seen her eat, he figured he should mention this now. He knew how much Faolan worried about stuff like that, having seen it for himself with Aurel over the years, though the teenager ate better now than he did back then, though his preference for meat was still quite obvious.

Illyana's smile was genuine as she showed it to Lucien. He was right, she did need to make sure that her sister saw that she was in good hands while she was searching for her. That would make convincing her to come along that much easier. So, she nodded, making a mental agreement with herself that she would try her best to take care of herself until they were reunited. Although, at the mention of eating properly she did blush a little. She had never been a strong eater, so she knew why Lucien would mention it. It wasn't something her parents ever worried over, but her peers did often comment that she ate like a mouse or bird. She was small for her age, but maybe if she tried hard enough she could grow out of it.

"Seconded, on the eating especially." Faolan added in a joking tone. Afterwards, he turned the key and let the bus rumble to life. Once it had quieted, he lifted his foot from the break and pulled the vehicle back out onto the road. The sooner they were quit of this place, the better. Maybe some time on the open road would help the girl too, in the same way it helped him.

--------------------------------

After their errands, the quartet of misfits headed out onto the open road, searching for this Lorraine Murphy. They drove down into New Jersey before nightfall, but had to camp before moving on.

Some of the tension seemed to have fallen from Illyana's shoulders. After the conversation, or confession, she'd had with Lucien and Faolan, she felt as though she was a little more free. There was no more lie that she had to cling to, now that they knew the truth. It had been scary at first, opening up, but it was true what they said about airing your burdens. Though she was still focused on the task at hand, she no longer felt like a cloud of uncertainty and doubt was hanging over her heads. She trusted these men to help her to the best of their ability. She was happy they had found her, and she knew that Isy would like them too.

Faolan was glad to see this in the child. Though she wasn't exactly beaming, and hardly smiled anyway, he could tell that she was feeling a little better after she had let go of what was holding her back. It made him feel better to, thinking that he had and could continue to help her in some way. He shared some looks with Lucien as they ate their evening meal, making sure to remind Illyana to try her best to finish what was on her plate, and if not that, then at least half. He even caught Aurel eyeing her extra portions of meat, but distracted the young man with a hair ruffle when he wasn't looking.

The next morning, they all awakened early and got on the road once more, pointing toward Lorraine. They reached the address at just past noon, but Faolan insisted that they all eat a lunch before Lucien went to see this woman. Illyana could hardly take it, but she ate more than he had ever seen her do, and faster too. He supposed making her wait was the best way to ensure she would get a proper meal.

Lucien had been glad to see Illyana had heeded to his advice. Being sure the child stayed healthy was one of his main concerns. Despite the fact she did appear much more nourished than when they had found Aurel, he still wanted to be sure she was able to stay well fed and healthy. She was quite small and that was a bit worrisome to him. Still, despite her size, he could see her strength and determination, despite being so young. It was something he admired to see, and made him even more so adamant about helping her achieve her goal.

As they finally arrived at their next location, they heeded Faolan's suggestion and ate together. He watched in slight amusement as Illyana ate her food. Faolan seemed to have found a tactic that worked best for her, but he wasn't about to keep her waiting much longer. Once they were all finished, he rose to his feet.

"I will go speak to them, I'll return shortly." He told Illyana, before giving Faolan a small nod and leaving the bus. He greeted the woman who answered the door with a smile.

From the bus, Aurel could see Lucien engage the one who was out the door through a small crack in the curtain of one of their windows, before he was allowed inside. Even though this was something he had taken note of many times before, he found a need to say it out loud this time.

"Lucien's.. really good at talking to people isn't he?" The teenager spoke, his snake-like eyes lingering on the home he had entered.

Meanwhile, Lucien engaged Lorraine in conversation. The trip had not been as informative as he had hoped, but he at least now knew that Illyana's family intended to use this place only as a temporary placeholder for their mail, until they settled in an actual home. He gave a small bow and thanked them for their time before he made his return to the trailer, to share what he had found.

"They.. unfortunately did not have an exact location for me. They were only told they planned to head out west." He said. That was too general for them to narrow down to a location, but at least they had a direction.

"I know it's likely not what you wanted to hear, but at least we know what direction to head to. Perhaps as we head west, we can try to find a Psychic that can help you. If there really is a way for you to find your sister with your abilities, right now that will probably be our biggest bet." He said to the girl.

Lucien at least wanted her to know that there was still hope, and this was not a complete dead end. They still had something to look for, and a way to strengthen their chances of finding what she was looking for.

Illyana was relieved to hear Lucien was ready to go. She had wanted to come along, but Faolan had explained that seeing their little niece with strangers asking questions about her parents would only raise suspicion. It was better if Lucien went alone.

She took a spot next to Aurel so she could watch Lucien speak with this woman at the door. She was supposedly related to the lady, a redheaded woman of short stature who opened the door. Her brow furrowed a little bit as she searched the the resemblance, but by the time they entered the building she could only admit that their hair and size matched.

She glanced at Aurel when he made his comment and couldn't help but agree. She didn't know how Lucien did it, but she assumed it had to do with his aura. She had known for a while that even if regular people couldn't put their finger on it, couldn't see it or describe it, they could experience and aura if it was strong enough. It was the same reason that dogs reacted badly to her post man, his aura was dark but it was the opposite of Lucien's, like he was filled with malice and anger. The woman at the bakery down the street from her...old house...had an aura like Lucien's though. It wasn't as potent, but she radiated kindness and acceptance, and made the most fluffy muffins the girl had ever eaten. Illyana would miss her most of all...

While they waited, Faolan read maps and Aurel fell to sketching as was his past time, but Illyana was unable to sit still. Though the adults had acquired several books for her while they had gotten supplies, she was too wound up to read any of them. She simply paced through the bus, up and down the hall there with her hands clasped behind her, in front of her, toying with her hair and the hem of her dress.

Faolan knew that the girl was full of nervous energy, and while it was irritating to watch her pace while he was trying to concentrate, he kept this to himself. He knew that she was feeling excited and scared and uncertain, and if this was what helped her get through it, then so be it. It had been easy with Aurel, he was a quiet child and sat so still at times that one could forget he was there. The Irishman was quickly learning that this was not the case with Illyana. In an effort to make herself seem less conspicuous, she drew attention with her nervous energy.

Only moments passed before Lucien returned from the house with his news. Illyana nearly jumped from her skin when he opened the door, like a cat with its hackles raised, she turned to the man. He wasted no time in explaining, and Illyana felt herself deflate with every word. She had thought that if this person really was related to her parents that she might have more information...She had always known that her parents were secretive, but this was too careful. Either they truly did not wish to be found or they were afraid of something...she hoped she was wrong, but she knew she was right about one or the other possibility.

"West..." she said quietly, then sat on the bench once again, all of the energy gone from her tiny frame.

Faolan knew that this was bad news for Illyana, but he has expected as much. Every turn of this had been one for the worse, and he didn't expect it to stop here. Still, he smiled at Lucien, grateful that the man knew just the perfect way to look on the brightside.

"Have you ever been West, Illyana?" The Irishman asked, leaning over the driver's seat with a map in his lap.

The girl looked up at him with heavy eyes and shook her head. She had read books about animals that lived in the west, and had seen maps before, but had never been further west than Pennsylvania.

"It's beautiful there. I'm sure you'll love it, you and Isabella both." He smiled at her briefly, then went back to the map. Now that they had a direction, he had to start plotting a course.

Illyana's mood seemed to brighten again. Faolan's smile had a way of making her feel like everything was going to be alright. She looked back at Lucien and tried to smile as well, though she was sure it looked like a frown. "I'll find someone. I know I can," she said, her voice filled with renewed confidence. Isabella needed her, and she wasn't going to be defeated in her quest to find her twin. She had no other choice, they had to be together.

Lucien was glad that his and Faolan's words had managed to ease Illyana's worries a little. He knew how desperately she wanted to find her sister, but he was sure this journey would have it's ups and downs. They would have their leads and their dead ends, but he wasn't planning to give up.

"I'm sure you can, Illyana, but do not feel pressured to do so. You are no longer doing this alone, just remember that." He told her, returning her attempt at a smile. He could tell that the girl was not particularly expressive. She was the opposite of Aurel in that way. Despite the fact he was reserved, you could tell how he was feeling just by looking at him. Illyana reminded him of Faolan in that way, though his lover was not nearly as stoic as he used to be. Perhaps with time, he would be able to see her smile a lot more brightly.

"You should try to enjoy the sights and the journey on the way. I'm sure your sister would love to hear the stories of all the things you got to see. It would be nice to have a lot of things to tell her right?" Aurel spoke up. While his life on the circus had allowed him to travel to many places, he had never been able to fully enjoy them.

With Lucien and Faolan, however, he had been able to see so many parts of the world, get to see so much of nature, and so many sights he thought he'd never see. It would be nice if Illyana was able to enjoy them in the same way. After so much sadness, she deserved at least that much.

"I will." Illyana said to Lucien, her "smile" remaining as she spoke. For the first time in her life, she did not feel alone, lost or confused. She felt safe and even...a little normal. It was strange to her, but a good feeling nonetheless.

At Aurel's words, she looked to him and nodded as well. "She will want to hear everything, Aurel. I know it." She and her twin had often played adventure games. Her sister was a princess trapped by a dragon, or a lost kitty-cat in a well, and it was always Illyana's job to find her. She remember starting off a little shaky, not used to being a commanding presence, but as the games went on she got more and more confident. Maybe that would happen now? She would have to remember that feeling, hold on to it, and she was sure she would find her sister.

"Alright." Faolan said from the driver's seat as he folded the map. "We better get a move on then. We'll start heading West, and every stop we make we'll do a scan to see if we can find someone to help." He looked to Lucien, then the kids, "Sound good?"

Illyana, filled with renewed hope, nodded enthusiastically at Faolan's question, as did the others. Lucien joined him in the passenger seat and Illyana caught a smile between them that was...strange. She had never seen two men look at each other that way, and in fact had never seen her parents look at each other like that. It was brief, but it made her uneasy for reasons she could not explain.

She drove this thought from her brain for now, she needed to focus. She turned around on the bench and got on her knees so she could look out the window. There would be a long journey ahead, but she knew that Isy would be on the other end of it.

------------------

And that was just what they did. For Lucien, Faolan, and Aurel, their lives returned to almost normal. For Illyana, however, it was a vast change. She had taken to sleeping in the back trailer with Aurel during their travels, especially when Faolan decided to drive through the night. The two were comfortable with each other and got along well, so it was a mutual decision. She was much smaller than Aurel, who was starting to grow lanky as he got older, so Faolan and Lucien built her a little pile of pillows and blankets on the opposite end of Aurel's "room". She liked it there and in fact, found it much easier to sleep than when she had lived at home.

They made frequent stops in towns, and stayed for days at a time when they needed work. Faolan had been working a lot more lately. Though Illyana did not eat much and required very little, her presence was a little extra strain on their finances, and Faolan was in the best shape to make more money. On the East coast, it was just a little easier to find handiwork than anything else. He would often be gone for 12 hours a day, and he didn't mind, but Illyana could tell that Lucien was growing worried about him and was trying top pick up slack. Sometimes, Faolan would be gone all day, and Lucien would be gone all night working. Illy and Aurel didn't mind, they could contend themselves with hanging out together, reading, doing art, or sometimes talking. Overall, it was a nice life, and soon Illyana's impatience about her sister faded. It was always in the back of her mind, but she knew that it would be a long time before she saw her again and that she just had to accept that. Lucien and Faolan were doing what they could, and she did not want to put extra pressure on them by asking too many questions.

The quartet headed South at first, staying along the coast, and then they started to head inland. Faolan and Lucien often discussed where they should head to next, and it just so happened that within several months, they were on track to stop in New Orleans.

At the mention of this, Faolan looked up from the map, eyebrows raised, "Really?" he asked Lucien. "Wow...I haven't thought about New Orleans in...years."

Aurel was happy for the addition of Illyana to their journey. As someone who had never really gotten to experience hanging out with any other kids, or anyone within his age range. Even though Illyana was young, she was very smart. His snakes had warmed up to her quickly, even more so now that they were sharing a trailer. Faolan had installed a curtain down the middle for privacy. He enjoyed telling her stories of some of their experiences out in the forest, and had even told her of how he had found Ginger and how it had almost given both the men a heart attack. While he had never minded having only Lucien and Faolan to talk to, having another person he could share his experiences with was nice.

-

Being back on the road again was natural for Lucien. All the extra work they had been doing had unfortunately lessened the time they could spend with each other, but they knew they could not slack off with the children to take care of. He'd take a lot of night shifts, and heal on top of that whenever he could for extra coin. They needed as much as they could get at the moment.

He had to admit holding back from the normal way they were with each other was difficult. They hadn't had to do this with Aurel for very long, but Illyana was a different story. She was not like Aurel, she had grown up with a family, a family that could have taught her different ways to view the world. Since they were not sure about how she would react, the two of them had found it best to keep their love hidden.

As they continued South, Lucien had picked up some mail in the last town they had visited. Even now he still wrote to Father Cyril, though it was less frequent than before. He also still wrote to Marcus on occasion, since he still considered him a friend even now. But it was in his letters to the priest that he began to contemplate their next destination, and had decided to bring it up to Faolan.

"I've honestly been thinking about it for a while. Father Cyril sent me another letter, I thought it might be nice for me to stop by. We haven't gone back well.. since it all started." He flashed Faolan a smile at this.

"Besides, I didn't know it back then, but New Orleans is actually a very good place to try to encounter those of.. supernatural ability. I vaguely remember seeing a number of voodoo shops and the sort, the ones you advised me to not get close to." He said with amusement in his tone. Back then he had thought nothing of it, but even then the man had tried to protect him, even before learning of what he was.

"That place will definitely be our greatest chance of finding a psychic."

Illyana and Aurel were in the bus with the pair as well, they usually all spent time together here when they weren't sleeping or working. Besides this, Illyana wanted to be close when it came to decisions about their next destination. She knew that she had little say as they did not have a direction at this point, but she wanted to be the first to hear about it when a decision was made.

She had hoped to follow her family directly West instead of heading South first, but Lucien and Faolan had explained that it was extremely unlikely that they would find her family on the road. It was better to seek help in pinpointing their actual final location and meeting with them there. The United States were a big place, and she had already seen more of it in these months than she had in her entire life. She knew they were right, and she had been distracted enough with reading, talking with Aurel, projects around the bus, learning to cook over an open flame with Faolan, learning knew memory games with Lucien and all of their other activities as well that she hadn't been constantly thinking about the end goal. It was nice, not to worry for once.

Right now, Illyana was reading a book about physical science as the two men were talking. She had already read the chapter that she was open to, but she was listening in on Faolan and Lucien's conversation while she did so.

Faolan's eyes widened a bit at the mention of Father Cyril and memories of all those years ago in New Orleans came rushing back to him. Wow, Lucien was right...he had changed since then, and for the better. But his eyes narrowed again when Lucien mentioned the voodoo quarter and their crackpot "psychics". He had warned Lucien, even back then, that most of them were fakes, and that the real ones were dangerous. Now more than ever, he did not want to seek what they needed there...

He glanced over at Illyana, reading silently, then looked back to Lucien and shrugged. Even he had to admit that it was their best bet.

"No, no, you're right." He admitted, though his voice took on that growling quality that meant he was frustrated. "And it would be nice to see Father Cyril again...." he sighed heavily, and with the hand closer to the steering wheel he reached out and gently brushed Lucien's knee with his fingertips. "But, if we do go there, we need to be extra careful, alright?" He looked the man in the eyes when he asked this. He wanted Lucien's promise that his curiosity would not get the better of him and that he would stay on track. They needed a psychic for one reason, to help Illyana, and nothing else.

Lucien gave Faolan a glance at his tone, knowing that he wasn't fond of the idea. Still, he gave him a reassuring smile at his words.

"I promise I'll be careful." He told him, knowing what exactly the source of his worries were. He had to be, considering now they had not only Aurel but Illyana with them. He admitted that psychics had always made him curious, he was sure not all of them were as dangerous as Faolan played them out to be. He had to believe in that if they were going to be able to find Illyana help.

"I'm sure Father Cyril will be surprised to see how tall I've gotten." He said with a small chuckle. Lucien had managed to ease the man's concern through the many letters he had sent over the years, but perhaps seeing him in person would alleviate any remaining ones he'd have.

"It's probably best we don't stay near his home." He added. It wasn't like before, and to be honest he was a little reluctant in letting the priest see Aurel. He wanted to avoid any potential issues in that regard. They could probably get away with dropping by for a visit, and then going off to do what they went there for.
