<Snipped quote by Balance>
Isn't chaos unstable?
Well, yeah. But even without Harmonic Chaos, the old Lords of Chaos in my line could usually get it to go where they wanted it to. Just takes aim and focus.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
Isn't chaos unstable?
<Snipped quote by Balance>
I can’t imagine it ever would be a great time.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
A far cry from the initial image I was given of you. Nearly had me excited.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Well, yeah. But even without Harmonic Chaos, the old Lords of Chaos in my line could usually get it to go where they wanted it to. Just takes aim and focus.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
How does that work?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
The power has a lot to do with your own imagination. It usually applies random effects or transformations, but the randomness isn't from a vacuum. It's from your own mind. Adjust your subconscious and you can hone in the effects.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
Is it really random then?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Well, no. I don't think randomness is a great definition of chaos, anyway.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
What's a good definition, then?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
It's something to do with chaotic systems. Those are when a small change in the initial condition makes a big change in the final result. It's not exactly random: like, for example, the double pendulum is chaotic, but everything it does makes sense and looks reasonable, you just can't calculate why. It's about that kind of predictable unpredictability.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
That's a bit of an oxymoron.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
I mean, I guess. But it's like, I don't know, chocolate rain. It's still liquid and it's still raining; it's just chocolate. Turning a couch into a battering ram. Turning all the paint in the room into gaudy palm tree wallpaper.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
What's the advantage to doing that?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Well, none in particular, not any of those three. Unless I want to sling a couch battering ram at somebody. But it's useful in other ways; I have a field around me that messes with projectile attacks.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
That does sound useful.
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
It's great. Helps me get into close-quarters, where I shine the best.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
What if the projectile is bigger than you?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Uh, good question. At that point I'd probably just jump out of the way. Or hit it back and blast it with chaos magic.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
What does that do?
<Snipped quote by Fractured>
Usually the same thing.
<Snipped quote by Balance>
The same thing as what?
