So yeah, I'm writing/drawing a couple comics.

I'm trying to introduce two characters that may or may not become romantic. Been in Quarantine so long, I forgot how people used to meet in real-life.

So shower that inspo upon me, my vessel body is ready.

It doesn't have to be your tale either, if you know of a funny way two people met- tell me about it!

I've got a couple stories that could be interesting. I dunno, but sure, I'll share because I have nothing else to do xD

My ex boyfriend and I sort of knew each other since we were in 7th grade (maybe earlier?). Our families sat next to each other at church for years. I didn't pay much attention to him until high school, when one of our mutual friends brought us and some other people together into a bigger group. That friend group formed a band because all of us were into music and happened to play different instruments. My ex wrote all the lyrics, and I wrote the instrumental accompaniments for everyone. This went on for about 3 years, during which time we never thought about dating. I only saw him as a platonic friend (assuming he wasn't interested in me), but I guess something changed for him because out of nowhere senior year, he asked me to go with him to his school's prom. It was ridiculously romantic, and apparently he'd planned the whole thing with my mom for the past week or so. I came home from marching band practice, and he was in the living room wearing a suit and holding a bouquet and a sign asking me to the dance. I was completely blindsided because I had no idea he was going to do this, but I ended up going with him, and that's where he asked me to be his girlfriend.

Side note: After I said yes to the prom-posal, my mom had him stay for dinner and whipped out the embarrassing baby photos...

Now for my husband, the story is a little more funny. According to him, we met at a huge bonfire in the woods during my freshman year of college. I don't remember that at all. Being the social butterfly that I am, I had met probably 40 other people, getting phone numbers and making friends with anyone I found interesting. The next day, we ran into each other again at a Starbucks and a mutual friend introduced us (me having already forgotten we met the night before. Oops). That was where we became friends. At first I wasn't at all interested in dating him because I had made a personal decision not to be in a relationship for a year after my ex and I broke up (despite the cutesy start, that relationship ended up being toxic af for me). He also had decided not to date that year because of different personal reasons. Still, we were just... drawn to each other? Even though neither of us planned to be in a relationship, we fell into one without even meaning to after about three months of hanging out. It was during Thanksgiving weekend. Everyone else in our friend group had already left campus to be with their families, and we ended up hanging out because we weren't leaving until the next morning. We spent the ENTIRE day together and stayed up until 5am playing games and talking until he eventually put his arm around me (he's always been a cheeseball and I love it) and we almost fell asleep on his sofa. After Thanksgiving, we kept our relationship a secret from the rest of our friends for about a month because we were afraid of drama. It sounds kinda braggy, but I'm not exaggerating. All the guys in our group were into me and all the girls were into him, so when we finally told them we were together, most of the group left. It was awkward, but I ended up marrying him and he's my best friend, so the loss of those relationships was worth it in the long run.

My stories are longer than most because I only dated guys after I had been friends with them first, but I hope there's material here that you find interesting!

tl;dr: Apparently I'm really bad at remembering guys I meet and need mutual friends to introduce me to them after we already know each other from other places.

If we're talking about my RL best friend, he and I met when I moved from Florida to Alabama in the 4th grade. A lot of people don't realize but it was a huge cultural shock to me. Back in Jakcksonville, I was at a very diverse school. I'd say a 1/3 were white kids, 1/3 were black kids, and 1/3 were latin american. When I moved "north" I was the darkest kid in the school except for the 1 black student. I was weirded out, and I was new as well. It was a much higher-end school than the one I left, and my best friend (and current roommate) actually walked up to me and asked if I wanted to be his friend. He and I hung out from then on and that was almost 20 years ago. Of course our group grew. I have 3 best friends at the moment, all from the same school and they all know and call each other friend too. But my first and probably best best friend is the one I'm currently living with and the one I met first. We bonded mostly over movies and video games, and we have a similar sense of humor.
