Hello! Been some time since I've run an RP on RPGuild-- pretty much not since OldGuild-- but I've had a hankering for running something in the setting of Overlord.
I'm generally looking for people who are already familiar with the source material (anime and/or light novels). People familiar with it will be more likely to work well with the setting, as I don't intend to spew an info dump about a setting that can be read about (practically exhaustively) on a fanwiki.
Instead of an info dump, I'll explain the general flow and theme of the RP.
The player characters (you) will be max level and likely decked out in outrageously powerful gear. While this will be in the same New World that Momonga/Suzuki ends up in, The Tomb of Nazarick and its inhabitants will not be featured in this RP. Instead, the players and their cohorts and designs will be featured in the new world and you'll all be given the chance to enact your will on a world that is woefully unprepared for your arrival.
You and I will work together on what plot hooks you'll pursue so I can enjoy the experience of making your mark on the world in any which way you please. Drift the world as a wandering swordsman looking for a "Decent Challenge", explore it as an archaelogist looking for hidden artifacts never featured before in Yggdrasil, pick a cute little town on the borderlands and transform it into a majestic citadel for fun and profit-- whatever grand designs you can think of, go for it.
Similar actors and familiar places as featured in the original story will be here as well, though also with new twists to expand on lore. Players will be given creative license to make the mythology of their character's history in Yggdrasil, and the opportunity to forge a new mythology within the new world.
Basically, the purpose of this RP is to screw around as demi-gods in a world that almost certainly can't stop them. The threats are instead to what the player characters become attached to, as there's always that one NPC the players get illogically attached to even though all they had was a name and a basic reference picture.
So! If you're familiar with Overlord and would love to screw around and explore with your own original character, please click on the link below and apply to the thread. Thank you for reading!
