It had been three days since the Terregenesis incident at the park, and Danny's life had changed dramatically. Now he spent his days at the hospital with his sister. He had wanted to stay home with his parents, but the FBI thought it best if they were apart. Made sense, there was no reason to potentially put their mother and father in danger. Still, this whole thing was a miserable experience. They were hiding out from potential blowback from their former employers, but their friend was in a coma. The doctors didn't seem optimistic about his condition either. Even though he was happy to have survived the attack, if Danny was being honest with himself, he was kind of disappointed that he hadn't shown any signs of developing superpowers these past three days. That would have been a fascinating subject of study, and superpowers would have just been cool in general.

Danny was returning from the hospital cafeteria with lunch for himself and his sister. He entered the hospital room, and set the food on the table. "I'm back, and I brought lunch." He looked at David lying unconscious on the bed, and frowned. "Still no progress with him?" Then he noticed the bullet sized hole in the window, and Danny panicked. "Ohmygosh! What is that?! Were you attacked?! Are you alright?! What happened?!

Before Danny could get any answers to his questions, his vision suddenly went blurry, and he got a pounding headache. "Ugh." He put his glasses on top of his head, and rubbed his eyes. The headache quickly went away, but when he opened his eyes again, his vision was crystal clear. As if he still had glasses on. He put his glasses back on, and his vision was blurry again. He took his glasses off again."And do you have any explanation for why I suddenly developed perfect vision?" Eevn though he already had a suspicion what that cause was...

Caty was relieved to see her brother Danny and was even more relieved when the shooter didn't fire again. She had a feeling he wouldn't stay with the rifle once the element of surprise was gone. He'd want to finish it personally and she didn't intend to give him the opportunity. Before she could answer her brother's questions about the shooting she noticed something was wrong with him. He was having similar in a way to hers. Was he sensing danger or was it something else? She didn't feel anything. Her mental questions were answered with Danny mentioning he now seemed to have perfect vision. "It might have something to do with my ability to now sense danger. Look out bad guys, here comes 20/20 and Hindsight." She doubted that was the full extent of their powers or that her brother's perfect sight was a side effect of the Terrigenesis, but now wasn't the time to theorize about their developing abilities.

She pulled out her phone to check for service. She had zero bars. She wasn't sure if it was because of the hospital being a notoriously bad area for cell service or if their would be assassin had anything to do with it. "We need to call the police, but I'm not getting any service. I don't want to cause a mass panic in this hospital so I don't think we should tell the staff. Right now they're only after us. I don't want to put anyone else in their path. Let's head to the roof."

Caty turned her head to David and gave him a solemn look. She hated that they had to leave him, but she knew a moving target was a higher priority than a comatose one. She mentally promised him they'd be back and headed out of the room looking back to make sure Danny followed.

When they reached the nearest stairwell she opened it and managed to go up one flight before her head started ringing again just like it did earlier. She looked up to see a man in an all black outfit and skull cap and in his hand was a gun with a silencer attached to the end. If it wasn't for this new sense of hers she wouldn't have been able to hear it fire. He aimed the gun down at her and pulled the trigger. In a quick movement she pushed Danny back with a bit more strength than she intended to and jumped over the rail into the level below. "Danny, come on!"

So apparently his sister had developed the ability to sense danger, and all he got was perfect vision. Why did Caty get the cooler power? He felt naked without his glasses. There had to be more to it than that... Now wasn’t the time to speculate on that.

They needed to get out of this room. If there was an assassin after them, they really shouldn’t stay here and be sitting ducks. Caty wasn’t getting service on her phone, and neither was Danny. Caty suggested they go to the roof, it made sense, they might get service on the roof. It would also put any innocent bystanders out of harms way.

It felt bad leaving David all alone, but they didn’t exactly have a choice right now. Besides, if they stayed behind they would surely be shot, and he would be their next target. They ran for the nearest stairwell. They made up one flight of stairs, before Danny felt a ringing in his head. He looked up to see a man in an all black outfit and skull cap and in his hand was a gun with a silencer attached to the end. Was this the danger sense Caty had talked about earlier? It seemed he had gotten it too. The assassin aimed his gun down, and fired. Caty pushed him back, and jumped over the rail.

Danny followed suit, and jumped over the rail with surprising ease. Caty was a cheerleader. She did these kinds of things all the time. On the other hand, athletics were never Danny’s strong suit. Under normal circumstances, he would have struggled to get over the rail, and would surely be dead right now. He was shocked he had managed to do that in one swift motion like that. Was it adrenaline, Terregenis, or something else entirely, Danny wasn’t sure. He wasn’t going to question it now. “Great, with that guy after us, the roof is out of the question. What now?”

Caty was shocked to see Danny repeat the same leap over the rail that she did. Her brother wasn't the athletic type and had no training in acrobatics. Did the terrigenesis give him some enhanced agility? She wondered if these were all connected to one ability or if they were getting several. And if something similar was happening to the others affected by the mist. She'd love to take the time to think this all over but unfortunately, she didn't. She took a second to think about Danny's question. They couldn't go up and she wasn't sure how far they'd get before he managed to catch up to them. They only had one option.

"Danny, I want you to run. Run outside and find the nearest officer. I'm going to hold him off. I'm starting to get the hang of this danger sense thing. I promise I'll catch up with you." She didn't want to tell him that she wanted to test out a theory she was working on. Whatever they were going to do it needed to happen fast as the man was starting to descend down the stairs.

Caty told him to run outside and find the nearest officer. Caty said she would hold off their pursuer. Danny wasn’t sure how Danger Sense was going to save her against a man with a gun. Even if she could dodge the bullet, what was she going to do back? Still Danny nodded. He trusted his twin knew what she was doing. He then ran off torwards the hospital exit. While he didn’t zoom off at superspeed levels, he took off much faster than he ever had before.

Upon running out of the automatic double doors of the hospital, Danny looked to the left, then to the right. Hospitals usually had security guards stationed nearby. One of them had to be able to help. He soon found an officer patrolling the outside of the building. Danny immediately flagged him down to get his attention. “Sir! I need some help! Surprisingly, Danny was not out of breath from the running he had to do.

“What’s the problem kid?” The security guard responded.

Danny explained the whole situation to the officer. About how there was a man in black with a gun after them and everything.

Caty was glad Danny decided not to fight her on this. She couldn't worry about her little brother. She just had to be sure he was safe. For now she had her own safety to worry about. She was about to face a professional assassin with nothing more than a theory and a sense of danger. Which was ringing intensely at the moment. Why was it ringing? She quickly looked up to see a blur that soon materialized into a full figure directly in front of her. "Oh. That's why." Caty didn't know how he had gotten there that fast. Did he have powers to? When and how did he get them? She didn't have the time to wory about that now. She had to move or do something fast.

The gunman wouldn't give her a chance. He pulled his right arm in and swung it back out hitting Caty in the abdomen. He sent her flying into the wall but stopped short enough of sending her through it. Caty yelped out in pain as her back hit the wall. She slid down to the floor and realized that she wasn't hurt at all. She know she felt her back hit the wall and his arm hit her stomach, but the pain wasn't there. She'd check for any bruising later, but right now she was sure she was fine. Did she gain some kind of enhanced durability? And how enhanced was it? Was she bulletproof? She wasn't so sure she wanted to test that theory today.

She stood to her feet still feeling completely fine. "They sent you, didn't they? Why are you doing this? We're just kids."

He didn't seem to care about that. Her head started ringing again and she noticed he was starting to aim his gun at her. He started firing before she could even move. Instead of just one he shot off six. She felt a strange sensation in her eyes and the world around her seemed to slow just slightly. She could see the bullets and the paths they were following. She could see more than that. She could see how to dodge them and deliver a counterattack. Caty pushed off the ground and into the air before spinning above the projected paths. She landed on the ground before quickly transitioning into a flip. She sent one foot crashing down towards his gun hand and the second down towards his head.

He lifted both hands in response taking the brunt of both of her legs. The force caused him to drop the gun, but he had Caty stuck. He grabbed her ankle with his left hand and tossed her through the wall behind them.

When the dust cleared Caty found herself in a pile of rubble with a hazy head. Her eyes didn't show her that happening. Just who the Hell was this guy? Her head started to clear and she noticed some nurses, orderlies, and other assorted medical staff around her. So much for not causing a panic. This was going to turn bad fast. Her head started to ring once again. "Oh, right. Still fighting him. Well fighting would be a strong word in my case."

She turned her head forward to see him standing above her. He reached down and grabbed her by the throat and lifted her into the air like it was nothing. He applied pressure to her neck making it difficult for her to breathe.

Most of the staff was frozen in fear and worry for themselves and for Caty. She noticed this and focused on their safety over hers. "Run... Please..." She wanted them to leave while his attention was still on her. Some of the staff took off immediately prompting the others to follow suit.

In the middle of talking to the secuurity guard, several hospital staff, and some of the visitors were running outside. Danny panicked once again. What happened in there? Was Caty in trouble. While the security guard was now tending to the terrified civillians, Danny ran ahead inside. He nimble ran around crowds of people trying to leave the building, what happened in the short amount of time Danny had spent running trying to find an officer.

He soon found out, and it was a sight he didn't want to see. There was a pile of rubble, and that crazy gunman had picked up his siter by the throat, and applying pressure. The sight of this made made Danny mad. "Hey! Put her down you... monster?" Danny knew he would have work on his witty banter at some point. Now was not the time. With a balled fist, he ran torwards the man while screaming. "YAAAAAAAAAH!" And delivered a hard punch with more strengh than Danny realized he had. He knocked the man aside, and caused him to realse his grip on his sister.

For a moment, Danny looked at his own fist, and wondered what the heck was that? He had never punched anybody before, and now here he was knocking down people much bigger than himself. He offered his twin his hand. "Are you ok? Clearly not considering the mess... What the heck happened? And what did I just do?!"

Two mistakes were made in a single moment. The first was Danny broadcasting a surprise attack towards an assassin with his hand currently around his sister's throat. The second was that same assassin underestimating the frail teenager and treating him like nothing more than a nuisance. He expected for his cheek to be met with a broken fist, but instead he was sent sliding across the floor.

Caty dropped to the floor and immediately started coughing to clear up her pipes. The pain and discomfort seemed to fade and she reached her hand out to Danny's. "I'm fine, actually, but it looks like you discovered another one of your new abilities, but this isn't over yet."

She and the assassin stood to their feet at the same time, but he was quicker to move. He was annoyed and on the brink of angry. They just made what was supposed to be an easy execution something he's going to take joy in finishing. He charged forward and stopped directly in front of Danny before sending him flying backwards with a kick straight to the chest. But he wasn't done and Caty could sense it. He dropped his leg and pulled a knife from its sheath on the side. He quickly turned with knife in hand attempting to slash across her chest.

She countered his slash by stepping backwards and grabbing his wrist and holding it in place. He dropped the knife and caught it with the other hand before slicing at her leg. He hit his mark drawing blood and causing her to let go of his other hand. He quickly moved to attack her again and this time his movements blurred together in a frenzy of a movement using both his knife and fist to attack her.

She was somehow not only able to keep up with his movements, but effectively dodge or block his attacks as well, but she wasn't sure how long she'd be able to keep it up.

Just as Danny helped caty to her feet, the assassin also got up. He effortlessly knocked Danny aside, sending flying like it was nothing. He ended up crashing into a wall. Instead of crashing and hurting himself though, he ended up sticking to the wall. "Wait, what?" Great, he can stick to walls. That's totally useful... Danny watched the assassin and his sister go at it. He was reminded of the times he got bullied in high school. How he had been beaten up. and tossed aside like garbage. This time would be different. This time he had power. Now he could actually do something.

The question is what was he going to do. He couldn't just go in for the punch again. The man would just knock him aside again. Soon, Danny got an ide. He seemed to be able to cling to surfaces, he wondered if he could move up the wall. Sure enough, he could. he managed to climb up the wall, and managed to get up onto the cieling. He took back his earlier thought. This was definitely useful.

He was latched on the cieling, waiting for the perfect opportunity. The assassin was busy. He would never thing to look up. When the moment was right, he unlatched himslef, and landed right on top of the man's shoulders. Then he started punching the man's head, repeatedly. "Ha! Take that!" He had to admit, it felt good being the one delivering the beating for a change...

Adam's super soldier serum enhanced both his senses and his mind's ability to process things. He's been able to look around a room and notice every minute detail of whatever was going on inside of it. While he was fighting Caty he still wasn't going to lose his sight on his other target. Especially after he had managed to send him flying earlier. He was just as shocked as Danny to see him cling to the wall and climb up it soon after. It seemed that his client neglected to inform him of exactly what he'd be dealing with.

Adam grew even more irritated once Danny dropped down on his shoulders and started punching his head. He flicked the knife towards Caty mostly as a distraction while he dealt with the giant pest on his back. Caty was forced to catch the knife with her bare hand. It didn't as hurt as much as it should have, but her hand was still bleeding. Adam then reached up and grabbed Danny by the wrists before he was able to punch him again. He then proceeded to pull him down with all the force he could muster and threw him directly at his sister.

Caty's eyes widened as she dropped the knife to the floor and prepared to catch Danny. He landed in her arms causing her to skid backwards across the floor. "Are you okay?" When she looked up over her brother she didn't see the assassin. She looked around the room but he still wasn't there. Her danger sense wasn't kicking in so she knew he wasn't planning a surprise attack. Was he really gone?

His plan worked for a bit... He stopped attacking his siter, but then he grabbed Danny by his wrist, and threw him at his sister. Caty managed to catch him before he could hit the cold hard floor. "For someone who's been thrown around twice... surprisingly yes... What about you? He said as he got back on his feet. The assassin was nowhere to be seen, and Danny's own danger sense wasn't going off, but you never knew with these assassins. He could be hiding in the shadows plotting a surprise attack for all he knew.

"Oh my god! I cannot believe I just did that! He shouted. He was feeling a variety of emotions right now. His eyes lit up happily. "I actually punched a guy... Oh my god... I can't believe I actually have superpowers. I wish I had been able to do this back in high school. I would have had so much respect!" Then he realized the severity of the situation they were currently in, and started pacing around in circles waving his arms frantically. "Now someone is out there who wants to kill us! What do we do?! He seems to be gone now, but what happens if and when he comes back! I am not prepared for this!

Caty put Danny down and let him get himself fully back to his feet. "Yeah, I'm okay. I'm just surprised we're still alive." She wasn't sure for how long they'd still be able to say that. She wasn't sure that the cabal of evil scientists would let them get away with living. But she ignored that thought when she saw how happy and excited Danny was. She had never seen him like this before. She was internally screaming herself, but had to keep her composure. She couldn't wait to test out her new abilities.

Her attention was drawn back to Danny and his frantic nature. He was right. There was a chance the assassin was going to come back, but she didn't think it would be anytime soon. He had to regroup and take their powers into account. Hopefully they'd be given enough time to be ready for their next encounter. "We get prepared. I don't think he'll attack us again today and I don't know when he'll actually attack us again, but we're not gonna wait like sitting ducks. We're going to learn how to use our new powers when he comes back he won't know what hit him."

“Right right, get prepared.” Danny took a moment to breathe and calm down. “Ok, if we’re going to do that, we have to get out of here. Someplace quiet, and away from prying eyes... We’re gonna have to go back home.”

The twins made their way home. Their parents were away at work, and the place was empty except for them. On the way, they had a discussion about the nature of their newfound abilities. “Let’s see, Wall Crawling, Danger Sense, enhanced strength, agility, and sense, these seem like a random assortment of abilities.” Danny said as they walked through the front door of their home. “What do all of these things have in common? He thought about all the stuff that happened in the park that day. “Wait a minute...” He looked at his hand. He vaguely remembered getting bitten that day. There had been a small mark left in that area, but it had faded over the course of the past few days. “I remember getting bitten by something before the teregenesis hit... You must have too. I don’t suppose that could have something to do with it?”

When the two returned home Caty was glad to see that their parents still seemed to be fine. There were no signs of a struggle in the home so they were likely just at work. It really did seem like that was the last they'd see of the assassin. For a while at least. She listened intently to her brother as he started to piece together what exactly their powers were. When he mentioned the bite she paused for a moment to recall the situation. She seemingly spaced out, but in reality she was doing a deep dive into her memories to replay the Terrigenesis event. She watched herself and her brother as he tried to stop her from going after David.

She paused the memory the moment Danny let go of her hand. That was the point things were all about to change. She peered closer to the two, mainly around their hands and noticed what actually bit them. It had confirmed the theory she had been working on since the hospital. She snapped out of her mindscape and returned to the real world. "We were bit by a spider. We're spider people. We got the powers of a spider. Well, maybe not all of them." The main thing they didn't seem to have was the ability to fire off webs. At least not to their knowledge. She turned her head and glanced down towards her bottom. "You don't think?"
