“…I would like that,” Haki whispered when Chance told him that he could stay. He pressed himself into Chance’s chest and listen to his heartbeat. It was steady but quite. He knew that Chance was hurting after everything that had happened. Seeing his people die, facing the man who took away his life, and nearly dying. He wouldn’t be surprised if Chance would just leave, since the problems only started after he joined Haki and Adrian. If that would happen, Haki wouldn’t stop him. Chance deserved a better life than what he currently has.

After a short, walk they reached the inn and entered. The lady at the front desk glared at him but didn’t stop Chance from bringing a dog into the Inn. Then out of the corner of his eye, he saw a blue butterfly. It looked like the one from the stag but slightly different. While the ones before were spitted, the one he saw was corporally and slightly magical. “Chance could you tell me what the stag was?” Houston asked quietly.

Adrian felt extremely guilty for making Nessa sad. He could tell by her voice but she would be better off without him. He had only brought misfortune to anyone who cared for him. That included Haki. He had lost count of how many times his action nearly caused Haki’s life. It was the sad truth but Haki never seemed to mind. This couldn’t be said about Nessa. They were practical strangers and yet he liked her.

Without another word, Adrian began walking away. He saw Chance up ahead holding a small puppy which he can only assume was Haki. He wanted to come up and say hi but they seemed busy. It wasn’t a secret that Haki had a thing for the vampire but he doubted that Chance knew. From his eyes, it was rather obvious. This made him wonder if Nessa saw through him? Would that be so bad, he thought.

It would be something he needed to think about later. For now, he needed to rest. His wounds have not fully healed and needed to be tended to.

Chance stayed quiet as they got to the inn, he didn't pay attention to the other two behind him, even though he had a feeling they were worried about him. He wanted to explain everything to Haki, he wanted to ask why he had kept himself around him.
Chance was a walking nightmare, a man of two worlds that were never suppose to cross each other.

As they entered the inn, he gave a weak smile towards the innkeeper as he looked towards the stairs and saw the butterfly. He felt a frown show on his face before he looked down to Haki and headed up the stairs slowly.
"The Stag is known to the Fae as the Bringer of spirits." He started, getting to his room as he opened the door to walk inside, "He's essentially the Grim Reaper."
He fell silent again as he placed Haki on the bed and moved to sit beside him quietly. "But he's also known for Contacts between those unwilling to die."

He looked at his hands with a small frown on his face, he flexed his fingers slowly before he leaned back sadly on the bed. "The Stag came to me after I almost died when I became..." He hesitated as he closed his eyes with a breath in, "A monster."

Nessa kept to herself, she allowed Adrian to walk forward first. She hung behind the rest of the group without a word, Ra resting over her shoulder quietly as they both seemed to stay silent to each other. Ra occasionally lifted himself up and looked around, twisting himself to look over the crowds for anything specific.

The Starborns eyes watched the ground slowly, she shuddered slightly as more memories flooded through her head. She moved her hand over her eyes for a moment as she tried to focus on the outside world before she sighed slightly.
She straightened up slowly and looked towards Chance as they got near the Inn; at least Chance had Haki...

Did... Adrian not like her? Did she do something wrong? Was she intimidated by her powers?
Who knew. Nessa pushed her feelings aside for a bit, her emotions kind of just going for a moment; she had to rest in the sun and recharge herself.
She glanced upwards towards the sky to judge the weather patterns before she watched Adrian head inside the Inn before she fanned her wings out and took to the air to the roof quietly.
It could be dangerous, but she didn't really care. Everything with what happened it seemed everyone was on for themselves, and she didn't want to risk Adrians' life in anything...

Haki fell silent while listening to Chance. He wondered what happened in Chance’s past to cause so much sadness. Did it have to do with his fiance? He wanted to ask but was afraid to draw up any bad memories. It would be better to ask another time. For now, he changed his size into something a little large and moseyed his way over to Chance. He laid down with his head on Chance’s stomach. “Chance you are anything but a monster. You cared for those kids and did so much to try and save them. Does that sound like a monster to you?” Haki said.

It pained him to hear Chance talked about himself like this. It showed how much Chance had been though. Being a haft vampire and losing his fiance must’ve been harsh. He didn’t know how that would field but he knew it must be painful. “Can you tell me more about that day?” Haki asked, his voice almost inaudible. He debated whether or not to ask about it. In the end, his curiosity got a hold of him.

Adrian walked into the inn and headed to his room. He was about to enter when his hand stopped on the door nob. Was it right for him to push Nessa away like that? Yes, he was afraid of starting another relationship but it wasn’t fair for Nessa. She had done so much for him and deserved more. Sighing, he let go of the door nob and walked outside. He didn’t see Nessa around but could sense her on the roof. He was about to teleported up there but decided against it. His magic may have returned but it could still be affected by the strange power.

Moving to the side of the building. He leaned onto the wall and pulled himself onto the roof. His back and lung burned from the act but he didn’t care. He needed to set things right with Nessa. Looking around the roof, he found Nessa a little ways away. Slowly, he walked over to her. “Can I talk to you?” he signed.

Chance gave a small laugh to Haki's words.
"Of course I'm a monster!" He said as he moved his hand to gently pet Haki's head almost absent-mindedly. "I'm the cross of two beasts who shouldn't cross together in any way. Fae and Weres, yeah of course- The Fae bloody tricked the Weres' into becoming Weres. But Vampires!? They're beasts of shadow, they fear the Faes light. We don't normally fucking cross each other."

He sighed and dropped his head back as his spare hand, the one not currently tangled into Haki's fur, gently smacked onto his forehead. His ears twitched towards Haki as he asked about 'that day'.
"God. That day will be stuck in my mind no matter how old I get." He mumbled before he looked to Haki, "Are... you sure you want to know about it?"

Nessa laid on her back with her eyes closed as her head faced the sun, her chin slightly up. Ra on the other hand was dancing around the roof around her, easily bouncing over her when he needed to past her. Nessa's breathing was slow and gentle before her eyes opened as she focused on Adrian.

She moved to sit up as he got closer and looked to him as he signed to her.
"Yeah, of course." She said, suddenly smiling before she realized she was getting too excited about talking to Adrian again and her smile wavered slowly. "What's up?"
Ra jumped up onto Adrians' shoulders gently, moving to press his nose to Adrians' cheek, grinning at the coldness of his snout.

Haki leaned into Chance’s hand as his tail lazily began to wag. He often hated it when his dog-like nature would show because Adrian would tease him about it. It’s not something he could control but actively try to avoid when he noticed them. Right now it could be far from the truth. He liked it when Chance pet him even if it was slightly embarrassing.

“Y-you don’t have to tell me. I just thought it would make it feel like less of a burden if you told someone else,” Haki said, his voice still above a near whisper. He wanted Chance to feel better but also to learn more about Iella. She was the reason chance was turned into the vampire but also had connections to the druids. He wasn’t sure but remembered seeing something about her in a vision. It wasn’t very clear but maybe a past druid had met with the woman and he was seeing their memories. His connection to the past had only grown stronger after he gained this new form. It could prove to be useful but first, he needed to get a grasp at out to use it.

Adrian sat down next to Nessa and began to sign. He had extra rings but he wanted what he was about to say be genuine. The voice created by the enchantment was only artificial. “First I wanted to apologize about earlier. I was scared. I had loved another woman once but she died because of my foolishness. I don’t want the same fate to fall upon you.”
He stopped and reached up to scratched Ra’s head. He then returned his attention to Nessa. “I have enjoyed traveling with you. I am just afraid that you might get hurt because of me. If you…” He stopped and curled his knees to his face. He wanted to ask Nessa but his hands were shaking unpardonably. His heart was racing and butterflies formed in his stomach. At this time, he wished he had a voice so that he could talk. It would make what he wanted to say so much easier. But he couldn’t, he was too afraid to express his feelings.

Chance wasn't even looking down at Haki anymore, he stared towards the ceiling as Haki spoke to him.
"No it's okay." He said as he glanced towards Haki and moved his hand to gently rub his ears slightly. "Iella and I were promised to be married in the spring time; Spring was both of our favourite seasons." He started, his eyes moving towards the ceiling as memories flashed through his eyes. "That bastard said he would help make the wedding magic, which I guess, as a Fae, I thought that would just be a normal thing. But this magic was said to be different, show stopping. Life Changing, he said." He felt his free hand tightened into a bit of a fist.

"He lead me away from the council house, Iella and I had to stay away from each other before the marriage, as per tradition. He lead me into the darker parts of the forest, I wasn't afraid or worried. It was strange, I was just so excited about something special to give the love of my life, my supposed soulmate. Fae aren't said to have more than one partner in their lives."
His hand moved from Haki's head to his shoulders before his fingers rubbed in between his shoulder blades.
"There had been... Rumours of a Mythical 'TimberFae', I hadn't looked too much into it but apparently they were said to be immortal. But they needed Royal Fae Blood, The Blood of a Timberwolf and a ritual under a full moon. The man lead me away to try and make himself the TimberFae, but he used a Vampire to take my blood... Which unknowingly caused the Ritual to fail. I... lost most of my blood and I was bleeding out when the magic failed."

His free hand moved to his chest gently, "The Stag... Came to me, I didn't want to die. I didn't want to leave Iella alone." He felt the tears well in his eyes more and more, "I had promised I wouldn't fall, I promised I would keep every Fae I come across safe. Fae don't break promises that easily, not against other Fae.." He let out a small sob, "When I got back... Iella... She didn't believe it was me, she tried to kill me. I was... Hungry. I was dying. I was a monster. I... don't remember what happened, but I must have attacked her, because I remember waking up with blood on my hands and an arrow through my chest. The guards were standing in front of her... Fallen... torn up body." He trembled, his entire body just... trebled.

Nessa watched him sigh quietly, taking in his words quietly.
She shuffled towards Adrian and moved to lean her head against his shoulder, Ra jumping out of the way quickly before he took into the air with a bit of a grumble.
"Adrian." She started with a bit of a soft smile, "You don't have to worry about me. I know how to take care of myself, I was a body guard where I came from." She gave a hallowed laugh before she pulled her head away to look at him, moving to grab his hands from behind his knees and pulled them into hers gently.

"I understand the worry about losing someone who gets close to you." She started with a tilt of her head, "I know you've probably gone through a lot of shit, but please absolutely know I am here to help you. I care about you, you're fun to travel with. You're analytical and Methodical, not a lot of people can be like that these days. You're amazing, one of the best people I have ever known!" She felt herself babbling, before Ra moved to land behind her and twisted to his larger form and shoved her forward, pushing her into Adrian with a cheeky grin before he took to the air again.

Haki quietly listened to Chance’s story. It was a heartbreaking tale that made him want to cry. He knew where Chance was coming from since his own past wasn’t that much different. He just never fell in love. But when he was little and still a slave, his magic would occasionally cause him to go berserk. It was mostly due to the magic dampening collar and a special medication that his slavers forced him to drink. The purpose of this medication was to block the growth of magic but it didn’t work as intended. Instead of halting the growth it only bottled it up until it eventually exploded. During one of these occasions, he went berserk and killed several of his fellow slaves and severely injuring a few. Needless to say, he was locked up and punished for months after that incident.

“I’m sorry Chance. She must’ve been someone special to you,” Haki said. He unknowingly shrank his size and curled tighter into a ball. Chance’s story only strengthened his hunch that he was straight. Even if He couldn’t be something more, Haki hoped that Chance would stick around since he is one of the few friends he made on his journey. In the past, he thought he had made friends but they only wanted to be with him for his fame. Chance and Nessa were the only genuine friend he made thus far.

“Chance…” Haki began talking but hesitated, “can I ask you something?”

He wanted to ask if Chance liked him but decided against it. They have only met a few days ago, though in his perspective that day had been months ago. It wouldn’t be right for an almost complete stranger to ask something so personal. He was also afraid of what Chance would say. Their friendship would surely end if Chance said no.

“What does the stag want with you now?” Haki asked. He had no intention in asking that question, it was just what came to mind.

Adrian was slightly startled when Nessa leaned against him. Though the feeling quickly faded as he leaned back against her. Her touch was warm and calming. Someone thing he hasn’t felt in a long time. He wished It would last forever but deep down knew that it wouldn’t. He was too afraid of starting a relation seeing how his last one ended. Even if Nessa could defend herself, it wouldn’t be right to put her in danger. He held up his hand as if to say something but it didn’t move. He couldn’t think of what to say so he stayed quiet.

He looked to the sky and towards the horizon. It was the afternoon and the wine festival would soon start. To mark the occasion, the city would light thousands of and release it into the sky. Afterward, a large parade would bring everyone to the city center. Once everyone was gathered a dance would take place. To predicate, one would need to buy a flower and leave it at the city center under a large willow tree. Once the signal is given, everyone would go and retrieve their flower then ask their partner for a dance.

“Nessa, would you like to go and look around the city?” Adrian signed. Nessa was an amazing woman and if he didn’t try, he would regret it for the rest of his life. He would at least need to try and ask if Nessa felt the same about him.

Chance listened to Haki as he spoke before he sighed, closing his eyes.
The question of what the Stag wanted with him made Chance pause and think.
"I..." He started, thinking quietly, "I don't know. I made promises... Everywhere I went. To protect others, to get things back. All of which I kept. It's more like he's haunting me for the promises I've broken."

"I promise you I am not haunting you." The familiar voice of the Stag spoke suddenly, CHance sat up to see the beast standing in their room, its' ears flicking with a tail twitch. "I am simply guiding you." He bowed his head before he turned to Haki.
"Young Druid. A pleasure to meet your kind again." He said, Chance stayed quiet; looking at the floor in partial worry.

Nessa smiled when Adrian leaned against her, she watched Ra fly around them before she looked over the city again.
She gave a gentle sigh before she looked towards Adrian as he started to sign. She nodded slightly at his words.
"I would love to." She said with a small smile.

She moved to stand up slowly, offering her hands to Adrian with a tilt of her head.
Memories continued to flash through her head, all of the hatred she had received, everything she had been through. But she shrugged it off.
She was with Adrian.
Things were good.

Haki stood up and began to growl at the strange stag. It took him a moment to realized what it was and to register what it was saying. He expected the stag to look different now that he was able to see it up close. He thought It would look grander. Slowly he settled back down and sat down on his hind legs. “I cannot say the same for you. May I ask what you are and how you are connected to the druid?” Haki said.

If he wanted to learn more, he could look through the memories of the other druids. There is over a millennium’s worth of memories. It would take him more time than he had to look at it. He also didn’t entirely trust the stag even though it was a spirit, so his answer might not be all that trustworthy.

“Also what do you have to do with Chance. What pact have you made with him?” Haki said. He might be stepping over the line with his questions but he wanted to know more.

Adrian smiled and took Nessa’s hand. Using it, he helped himself up off the roof. “Do you have a preference as to where we go?” Adrian sighed. Slowly he made his way to the side of the roof. He looked to the ground and wondered if his magic was back to normal. After thinking about it, it was too risky with his current health.

“I’m sorry but I cannot go very far. My injuries will not allow me to do much,” Adrian sign after noticing the burning in his lungs. He was sure that they had been punctured but Haki musted healed them. He didn’t know how but his magic seemed to change. It would be something he needed to ask later. For now, he needed to focus on Nessa.

The Stag looked down to Haki as he growled at him, he seemed unphazed before he looked towards Chance with a soft blink.
"Chance can Explain what pact we have." He said softly, before he flicked his ears and shook his head softly. "As for the Druids." He stepped closer to the two, his form shimmering slightly before he shifted to something that seemed... Human, but was more like a Wendigo.

"The Druids and the Fae go millennia back." The now-Wendigo spoke softly, Chance watching him intensely. He shifted forms. This wasn't good.
"The Fae are not the reason they got their powers, but we helped them Hone them. We helped them learn how to defend themselves and the land."
"The... Pact." Chance uttered under his breath, not looking at the Stag or at Haki. He shuddered and pulled his knees to his chin as he moved to stare at the floor.

Nessa followed Adrian with ease, she nodded gently to his words about being injured.
"We can find a healer." She started slowly, "My magic can heal but... I don't want to risk damaging anything." She said with a small smile, she moved quickly to gently tighten her grip of Adrians' hand.

Ra floated around them gently, keeping just above head height to make sure he could see everything around them as they started to walk along, Nessa gently leading the way.
"I want you to get a proper look over." She started, looking towards Adrian with a serious look on her face, "I am going to pay for it."

Haki stared wide eyes at the Windigo standing before him. He had only met a hand full of them in his lifetime and all of them were man-eating monsters incapable of speech. Why was this one different? Could it be that it wasn’t even a Windigo but just an avatar? Either way, this only made it harder to trust the stranger. What could a Windigo offer a mortal? Why did Chance have a pack with it?

Haki didn’t feel conformable being in his small form, so in a gust of wind, he changed back to normal. He stood up and leaned against the wall so that he could keep an eye on the entire room. “Chance?” Haki asked after seeing Chance’s reaction to the word ‘pact’. He was more worried as to that this could be. If it was anything harmful he has no quarrel fighting a spirit.

—————————

Adrian wince at the thought of going to a healer. He didn’t like the prospect of letting someone poke and prod at him without his armor. It seemed like a recipe for disaster. He would much rather have Haki heal him but he didn’t want to argue with Nessa. “Okay, I know a place,” Adrian signed.

The guild had a healer for anyone with a guild card. Generally the higher up you go the better the performance of the healer. This is one of the many perks of being a high rank in the guild but it is not an easy thing to obtain. There are several ways of raising your rank. The quickest is monster hunting and doing guild quest which is the occupation he and Haki chose. It is a dangerous job but can quickly raise your rank and make money. Within the guild, there are certain rankings for each type of monsters. The higher the ranking the more dangerous the monster and the more valuable. Another option is doing business with the guild. A majority of the guilds were merchant that uses the guild card to get into cities without paying. It is much harder to raise a rank as a merchant since it required more work to acquire enough to rank up.

After a short walk, they arrive at a small building with over a dozen potted plants at the front door. Adrian walked in and was greeted by a woman, “how may I help you today?”

“I would like to get my injuries checked,” Adrian sign. Most of the people that worked as healer knew sign language since injuries that cause muteness is very common within the guild.

“May I see you guild card?” Adrian handed the woman his guild card. She looked over the information before handing it back. “Thank you sir please follow me.”

The woman led to the back of the building to a private room with a large cushion bed and severely seats. “Please take a seat, Mr. Novas. May I ask if this woman is your wife? I will need it for the record.”

The Stag watched Haki move towards the wall before he turned his attention, slowly and in a dragged out sort of way, towards Chance with a tilt of his head.
"Since Chance seems to be unwilling to answer the question." The Stag started, "Which is a sign more of preservation towards a relationship, rather than self preservation." The Stag watched Chance jolt upwards and stare angrily towards the Stag.

"Have you got something to speak about Master Alendar?" He asked with a tilt of his head, Chance let out a low growl but lowered his head slowly. "I didn't think so." The Stag said before he turned his attention to Haki. "The Pact that Mister Alendar and I have, is one of many that I have done before."

"Once Chance was infected and killed, I took it upon myself to make sure he was surviving." The Stag spoke with a gentle tilt of his head, "Chance made me the promise to bring peace back to the Fae world; The Butterfly and the Moth have been complaining about too much death happening to the species. Chance is essentially my champion; which is off for a Fae Spirit."

Nessa smiled towards Adrian as he lead her along. She was happy that he agreed to it. She wasn't a fan of having friends injured, and she didn't want to risk healing him herself in case her magic burnt his skin rather than healing him.

When they entered into the building she paused outside the building as she admired the little potted plants, before she stepped inside and gently sat down against a wall as to not take up a needed seat as she waited for Adrian to be finished.
She tilted her head back with a closed eyes, feeling the sun hit her skin and be absorbed and channeled into energy to her. Her freckles glistened softly from the light before she slowly opened her eyes and looked to her hands.

She flexed her fingers as Ra slowly came over and pressed his head under her chin with a ruffle of his tail. He let out a small purr as he did so, stepping into her lap as her hands slowly moved to ruffle through his fur.

Haki quietly listened to the stag as it talked. He understood the form of pact Chance made with the windigo. It was similar to the one he made with the entity that changed his body. He couldn't remember much of the experience and what he could remember was a jumbled mess of pain and realization. It was liked he lived through hundreds of lives as he was forced to remember all the past Druids. After that experience, he made a pact with the entity to stop the calamity that was going to destroy the world.

"Then why are you here now? Chance has been doing all he can to help his people. It is not something one person can do," Haki said slightly irritated. He didn't like that the stag was asking so much of Chance. He had suffered enough and did not need this to weight him down.

Adrian stared at the woman in shock. It took a minute for the question to register in his mind, and once it did, "No she is only a friend!" Adrian signed. He didn't really believe what he just said. Nessa was definitely more to him than anyone else. it was different from the bond he had with Haki. It was something more.

"oh my apologize," the woman said. She then signaled him to sit down on the bed. Once he did, she poked at in him in several spots and asked if he felt pain. The area where the arrow pierced him had the most pain. He was surprised that it missed his heart and so was the woman. if it was any slight to the left then he would've been dead.

"Looks like it is healing properly. You will only need to rest. I have to say the healer that healed you is quite talented. even with your status, we cannot guarantee that we could've done the same," The woman said. then after exchanging a few words, he was dismissed.

he walked out of the room and returned to Nessa. "the healer said I only needed to rest. Haki healed most of the major injury. And there is no need to pay. would you like to get something to eat?" His heart began to race again, and his palms began to feel sweety. Why was he so nervous around Nessa? It didn't feel right but he cannot deny the feelings.

"The higher ups... Have tasked me with looking after him." The Stag said as he moved to hang his head slightly, "I haven't been the best guidance, admittedly. My power fluxuates with every rising sun, and forming myself into a physical being takes a lot of energy."

Chance rolled onto his back and slowly sat up as he looked to the floor even more. He didn't speak as Haki and the Stag were talking, he could hear the anger and irritation in Haki's voice.
"You don't have to worry about me Haki." Chance slowly squeaked, "I appreciate it but I would rather you using that energy on someone better than me."

Nessa had closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the wall as she focused on her own energy; even though she was in the sun for a short amount of time, she was slowly gaining her powers back.
As she had her eyes closed, small orbs of what could be stars started to float around her, twisting slowly in shape and size before Adrian came out.

Ra opened his eyes and darted over to Adrians' shoulder happily, nudging his head into his with a small purr.
Nessa slowly opened her eyes, the larger stars slowly blinking out as the smaller ones shimmered around her.
"Oh, that's good. I was worried." Nessa spoke as she smiled to Adrian, stepping towards him before she gripped his hand grinning. "Anything edible really." She laughed at his words.

"I wouldn't mind getting something sweet." Nessa said with a small smile, before she looked to Ra over Adrians' shoulders. "Heh, he really likes you." She said as Ra looked up to her, still purring happily.

“There is no one better than you Chance. You have to know that…” Haki said. His ears began to droop and his tail stopped wagging. He wanted to tell Chance how he felt but he was afraid of his response. He didn’t want to ruin their relationship. It would be much better to have Chance as a friend than none at all.

“If you are here to guide Chance than why have you not appeared sooner?” Haki asked. The Windigo was indeed a spirit but he was unsure if it could be trusted. He was also slightly annoyed that the spirit did not protect Chance. It was supposed to look after him so why did it not help when Chance was in danger?

Adrian smiled and scratch Ra behind the ear. He had never had any luck with animals so he was surprised that Ra had taken a liking to him. “I know a good place,” Adrian signed.

He tightened his hold on Nessa’s hand as he began guiding her out of the clinic. The streets of the city were busy with hundreds of people preparing for the festival. Not wanting to get lost int he crowed, he took a short cut between the buildings until they reached a small shop that was built into the side of a large willow tree. He had discovered the place the last time he visited the city. It was hidden behind several buildings which made it a quiet place to enjoy some sweets.

“The sweets here are some of the best in the city. They also have very good tea,” Adrian said. The moment a slight breeze brush past them, the smell of freshly baked sweets filled the air. “If this place okay with you?”

The Stag looked to Haki as he felt the annoyance from the Druid, "The Spirits have..." He started quietly before he frowned, "Rules to follow, stepping in front of fate is one of them, one of the highest ones. I often try to make sure to contact with Chance when I need to."

Chance stayed silent, lowering himself back onto the bed with a bit of a whine, "Can... We just cut this short so Haki and I can go get some relaxation in?" He suddenly asked, "I feel like shit causing Haki to stay here while there's a festival around here." He looked to the Stag, who hesitated as he watched Chance, before looking towards Haki and then back to the Half-Vampire with a weak nod. The spirit suddenly disappeared in a small flicker of glitter as Chance laid on the bed staring at the ceiling.

"Go get yourself a drink Haki." Chance said, almost an order, "You deserve it for everything you've done lately."

Nessa allowed Adrian to pull her along, she kept close to him as he lead her through the backstreets and looked over towards the shop in the willow tree.
"Oh!" She said with a blink, "This looks amazing!" She tilted her head up towards the air as she breathed in with a bigger smile.

"Mmm, I haven't had sweets in a while. Tea is also good," She looked to Adrian, "It'll be my treat." She said, "Come on~" She tugged him towards the door gently with a bigger grin.

Haki watched as the stag disappear. It was strange that such a powerful spirit would agree to leave so easily. The stag did mention that taking a physical form took a lot of energy. “Um sure I’ll be right back,” Haki said.

Haki left through the door before changing back to his wolf form. The owner of the inn didn’t know he was here so it would be best to not cause a panic. Now that he was used to walking on four legs, it was easy to get around. It only took him a moment to reached the front door without being seen. Once out of sight, he changed back and began looking for some food. There were several food stands in the area due to the festival which made it easy to get what he wanted. After buying more food then he could carry, he returned to the inn. No one was at the front desk so he sneaked back inside and back to Chance’s room.

“Chance I got us some food.” In total, he was only gone for about 10 minutes. During which, he bought a bunch of pastries and several different drinks most of which were alcohol.

Haki pushed the table int he corner over to the bed where he set all the food. After grabbing a small keg of beer, he sat down near the bed and turned to look at Chance. “Chance are you holding up okay? After everything that happened…”

Adrian smiled as Nessa pulled him towards the door. It was good to see Nessa this happy after everything that happened. She nearly died several times due to his lack of power. It made his stomach turned everything he thought about it. He hadn’t been that powerless since he was a child where his magic was suppressed. He quickly pushed those to the back of his mind and refocused his attention back to Nessa.

He pushed the door of the shop opened reviling a small but homely cabin-like room. Near the back wall was a large counter where dozens of sweets were displayed. At the front were several small tables for two looking out into the street. “Hello welcome! How may I help you today,” a young and chipper voiced called out to them. Standing behind the counter was a short girl with long curly red hair, pale skin, and freckles.

Adrian held the door for Nessa before entering. “What would you like to get?” Adrian signed.

As soon as Haki left the room, Chance hopped up off the bed and moved to his bags. He never carried a lot with him, but he at least had a change of clothes.
He pulled out his fresher clothes, pulling off his shirt to inspect his scars and injuries from being attacked earlier. He pulled his pants off to change into slightly better styled ones, instead of the ripped and torn ones he used for travelling.

By the time Haki had reappeared, he was looking at old mildly healed scars and the injuries from the last few days.
As the door opened, Chance looked up almost immediately with a worried look on his face before he relaxed at the sight of Haki.

Without his shirt on, the extent of his Fae runes and scars could be seen by Haki. The green and pink runes etched up his arms and legs, over his chest there was a few dark brown marks that seemed to be healed scars over his chest, over his heart and down parts of his lower torso and abdomen.

"I'm... Holding." Chance replied quietly with a weak smile, before he looked down at his chest and moved to grab his fresh top to slip it on after he finished looking over himself.
His small wings twitched before they started to fold out slowly; relaxing in the atmosphere. "Thank you for the food." He said with a slow blink, before he got up to grab a pastry to slowly eat.

Nessa looked around as they walked inside, her face lit up at the sight of everything inside.
"Hi!" Nessa replied to the woman behind the counter, she looked around slowly before she looked to Adrian as he spoke.

"You order first, It's my treat." Nessa said with a small grin towards him, before she looked to Ra, who moved to leap from Adrians' shoulders to hers, leaning over to look at everything as well.

Haki couldn’t help but steal a glance as Kip was Changing. He noticed himself staring and quickly diverted his gaze. Hopefully, kip didn’t notice him looking. Once Kip was fully clothes, Haki refocused his attention onto to Chance. He worried about his eye as Chance answered him. No one would be okay after everything that happened. Especially chance since it was his people that died in that cave.

“Chance I’m here for you if you ever need anything,” Haki said. He took a sip of his beer then leaned back against the bed. He started at the ceiling and thought about what had happened in the past few days. His time in the fairy realm was longer than he wanted and now that he was out he didn’t know what to do. Sure he had to discover who this lich was but what was he to do till then. He felt as if he had no purpose.

Adrian smile and walked up to the counter. He knew exactly what he wanted which was a piece of their apple pie. It was rare for him to be able to eat something like this. More often then not a quest would take months to complete where they would have to eat what they can forage. Though Haki did make some good food, it was rare to get to eat sweets. “Can you order for us? I would like a piece of apple pie,” Adrian sign to Nessa. He didn’t have his notebook with him so it would be difficult to order something.

Chance swallowed his bite with a bit of a smile, "I..." He started, "I... really appreciate that." He cleared his throat momentarily before he closed his eyes to stop the tears from starting down his face.
"I... It takes a lot for me to open up." He suddenly said, "I've been through a lot of stuff in my life. A lot of betrayal, a lot of..." He trailed off softly.

Chance looked to the pastry in his hands before he moved to chomp down on it quietly again. He wasn't sure if he wanted to explain even more than he already did.

Nessa nodded at Adrians' signing before she stepped slightly closer to the counter.
"Hello, apologies for making you wait." She started, "Can we please get two cups of warm sweet tea, a small glass of Water, a piece of apple pie- Preferably with some vanilla ice cream if we can." She sent the woman a bit of a wink before she looked to the cabinet again, "And I would love a plain scone and a slice of the strawberry cheesecake if I can." She moved to get her bag to get ready to pay for it.
