On the sea between the land masses, there is no law. There is only survival, and the chase.

The world has changed since the shift. When the earth moved and society fell into the ground, there were only the few strong and the many rich left to pick up the pieces. It was as if some great being in the sky strung all land masses together and pulled, sending countries and people indiscriminately crashing into one another. There was only the one large continent standing when the dust settled, and those fortunate enough to witness stood in shock and hopelessness; wondering how humanity would charge forward. Unsurprising to some, an organization of militant power rose to gather the masses. This new society settled in the rubble of their old homes and became what is now call the Mainland. It wasn't for months that in exploration of this newly created world, that they would come to find islands scattered across the sea. Islands that were surprisingly inhabited with survivors of the shift.

With an eye towards a new world order, and a smooth transition into peace and prosperity, the Mainland Navy set out to rescue and introduce these castaway islanders into the recently created factions and territories of the new antinationalist government regime. Those who did not support the new order took their chances on migration to these islands residing on the outskirts of civilization, and the Mainland was met with resistance.

The Rocks, as the islands were creatively dubbed, harbor a variety of communities and tribes that cooperate with each other in trade, resources, and defense against the mainland. It is a violent and archaic war between worlds that lack the technology and resources to put a quick and fiery end to the conflict. The ships are quickly and poorly crafted without the machinery that would have made easy work of this task. Every day blood stains the water. The tug of war for stolen goods and resources used to sustain a people with a broken ecosystem and a dying population leads to murder, greed, corruption, and tyranny.

The battle has been raging for decades. The mainland gains a few yards every year in a bloody rush for territory and control.
The pirates of The Rocks struggle to survive and combine forces while infighting tears them apart.
Conflicts and civil unrest stirs on the mainland as news makes its way back from the seas,
and ships carrying loved ones do not.
