From her strong jaw and strong eyebrows to her lean and toned body, Lena exhales confidence. She stands at 5'5 tall but seems somehow to look taller, maybe an illusion from her lean legs. Her brown hair extends well to the middle of her back, and she usually wears it in a ponytail. She has a delicate nose, full lips, and brown almond eyes. Her tan skin shows her Latino heritage.
Characterization
Born and raised in Rushford, Lena lives with her family in a big property. The terrain has been in the family for generations and is currently owned by Lena's grandmother, Elizabeth. The two-story house is surrounded by a huge garden with flowers and vegetables and what they call "The Forest". Most of her free time Lena will spend in the forest, lying in a hammock and reading a book, or helping her grandmother in the garden. Ever since she was a girl she took an interest in gardening and over the years she learned how to identify plants and herbs. Elizabeth also raised chickens and fishes in the big pond behind the house.
She lives with her parents and younger sister in her grandmother's house. She was always close to Elizabeth, and when the elder fell ill with Alzheimer's, Lena took online classes and courses to become her grandmother's caregiver. She reduced her work hours to part-time so she can spend more time taking care of Elizabeth and her beloved garden. Lena took after her grandmother in the sense that she loves harvesting vegetables and cooking, and everything had always been available right at their backyard.
Lena is determined and never lets anything stop her. When she was a kid she had a great interest in sports, but her asthma made it harder for her to participate. She didn't let that stop her, though, and took every effort possible to overcome her shortcomings, eventually getting proficient in volleyball and running. Still, she can't go anywhere without her inhaler, and she often suffers from asthma attacks. All the cardio work definitely paid off, however, helping decrease the number of attacks she has over the years. She doesn't go a day without going for a run.
She has a strong character and won't let people tell her what to do. She can be as stubborn as a mountain against the wind, but she's strong-willed and will get what she wants. However, she's not irrational -- she recognizes when she needs to follow orders for the best of the situation, she just prefers to follow herself. She speaks her mind and isn't afraid of what others will think of her.

Since she was a child, Melinera has had trouble making friends. It’s not that she’s not sociable or doesn’t like being around people, she’s just very quiet and calm and usually doesn’t stand out from the crowd. With her family and few friends, she’s very pleasant and composed, but she also has a sense of humor, most of the time a bit too dark for her family.
After her attack, she became isolated and depressed, dealing with the emotional scars and sense of loneliness by herself. She was tortured to the brink of death and she couldn’t tell anyone what really happened. She questioned herself, whether what she saw and felt was a product of her imagination or whether it had been real. And she’d never know for sure. Not unless she found proof.

Melinera Hills was born in Ember Grove as the single child of Edwin and Camille Hills. All her life she was surrounded by love and compassion, being taught what’s right and wrong, and she learned to be a good and decent person. From a young age she showed an interest in photography and as soon as her parents could, they bought her her first camera.
When she was 5 she lost her grandmother to cancer and on that day, without even understanding the concept of death, she swore to her parents she would never die. That loss had a great impact on the child. While she was happy, she was also quiet and didn’t make friends easily. Where she was adventurous, she was ever so cautious. She developed an intense fear of death, to the point where she wouldn’t even leave the house for a few months. She got therapy and returned to society again, but the fear never left her.
It was on New Year’s Eve of 2020 that it happened. She was at a bar with a couple friends from college, watching as her friends danced and had fun. She stepped out for a smoke and was approached by a red-haired guy, about the same age as her. A little drunk, they talked for a while… And after that things went blurry. She doesn’t remember how, but she was somehow in a dark alley, away from the bar, with the stranger running after her, laughing as he chased her. She fell and scraped her hands, trying to recover before he reached her. He was talking to her but she couldn’t hear. She doesn’t remember anything else after that. Except one thing… The red-haired. He bit her neck and drank from her blood, laughing in between gulps. After that she must’ve passed out. She remembers waking up in the hospital, covered in bandages and with a broken arm. Someone had found her in the alley covered in blood and called an ambulance. If it weren’t for the person who found her she would’ve died.
Now she spends her days trying to convince herself that what happened is impossible. But it did happen, she knows it in her heart. She still has nightmares about that night. But she also has hope. Perhaps she found her answer after all.

Centuries ago, a small group of witches and warlocks set foot in Lemmas Peak. The coven was tired of the Church's persecution, and, fleeing, they decided to find a new home. They never imagined they'd find a settlement hidden from human eyes and, more importantly, from human terror.
It was weird at first to live so close to so many other supernatural creatures, as the coven was used to hiding its own uniqueness, but it didn't take long for them to grow comfortable and to start using their powers in the public eye. A healer named Carry created an Herb Shoppe a couple centuries later, selling herbs and potions, healing those in need and selling her spell crafting services to those who requested. The shop was passed down the generations and is now owned by Ola, Sarina's grandmother.
Sarina works part-time at the shop, and to make some extra money she sells her own potions. She decided to experiment with healing soaps and conditioners and is investing in her own skin care products. Her familiar, Claude, tends to follow her around town and people can usually hear her talking to him about random things. She also tends to spend a great deal of time tending to the family garden, where all the shop's ingredients come from. Witchcraft is an extremely powerful form of magic that is primarily practiced by witches. This form of magic can do many amazing things and encompasses many different types of activities including levitation, transforming into the elements, spell casting, and potion making.
