History: The tale of Xaru Melrom is one a people that have no home. Long before his birth the Fathi people were forced from their home country and forced to wander the world with no permanent place to call home. Rather than despair over the loss of their home or waste lives in the pursuit of getting it back, the Fathi chose instead to become nomads and explore the world and discover its riches. Having families gather together in caravans and separated and traveled in different directions with the hope and promise that they would return to the ancient meeting grounds and share stories of their travels. The Melrom caravan saw the great ocean and chose to cross it and see what lie on the other side. They would settle on what they would later understand to be Airi Island and would settle there as their new home.
Many years later Xaru would be born to the caravan leader and would be taught the ways of the sword to defend himself. On one of the many excursions to the other islands it became clear to him that the other kingdoms saw him and his people through a different light. Whenever his people would show up they would receive shifty looks and people would be more guarded against them. This gave Xaru quite the offense and so he grew a dislike for the native people. It wouldn’t be until much later that he would discover that his adoptive home was a haven for criminals and dissidents and the people saw them as the same. With this in mind Xaru took this knowledge and learned the ways of the confidence man, using his foreign status to get what he needed when he needed and didn’t care who he tricked as long as they did not get hurt.
