Been trying to get anything like this off the ground for the last 2 years and it seems to have constantly failed due to too few people being interested in different things. So, here's a few idea's for RP's that i've been thinking of getting going, because they all follow similar themes.

Why pick just 1 fandom at a time? Any thoughts on any of these i'd like to hear about.

I like Superheroes, so the Superhero world interests me the most.

@Crimson Flame Any specific kind of superhero setting you're looking for? Marvel? DC? Darkhorse? A little of everything?

Yeah, a little bit of everything sounds pretty nice.

Different species.
Powers and magic.
Different views on 'Heroes' and 'Anti-Heroes'.
Darker themes in some areas, brighter themes in others.

Etc, etc, etc.

@mattmanganon I'm with them, and if you did decide to run a superhero world, I'm about ready to pull out one that I've been working on involving time. Nothing particularly broken, but I will say that her exploits would cause Dr. Strange to raise an eyebrow.

I was planning on playing a Necromancer type character who investigates dark magic type shit. Necrodetective is a go.

@FalloutJack Way i see it, in Narrative RP's like this, there are no broken characters, just players playing their character as Broken. Everyone is subject to the Rule of Narrative, where "If Character A needs to defeat Character B in order for the narrative to progress, then Character A will beat Character B regardless of other factors."

@Shard Sounds like Hellboy or Constantine.

@Kenshi@Crimson Flame

So, the big question is what kind of Superhero RP you guys are looking for?

Single Superhero Team? Sandbox Universe?

I was thinking of maybe running something based on Justice League with the worlds heroes all being under a single banner, organized by the worlds greatest Superheroes. Of course, you have the Anti-Heroes that want to do hero work, but refuse to join the League for one reason or another. You can play Canon or Original. However, you will have to deal with the leagues existance one way or another.

I think working together with the League but not being a direct part of it will probably be a common stance. I don't know if my character idea would fit into the League itself, all that well, since Justice League Dark literally was made for characters like him. Though, either way, I wouldn't mind having something like the JL being in the center of the story.

I personally really like sandbox-type RPs, they just require all the members to actually be active and not wait for the GM to hand-hold them through everything.

@Shard Well, Sandbox, in my experience, really doesn't require everyone to be active at all times, since it's more a case of the players try to tell their own stories within the world, whilst the GM sits there, throwing curve-balls at everyone.

"Say, that's a nice family you've been building development with, would be a shame if one of them was suddenly replaced with a Super Skrull that takes their place >:3"

Whichever way you go, it seems that the consensus here is that everyone wants a superhero RP.

I need my hand held sometimes. Often I’ll struggle with what to write about.

@Crimson Flame

The best part of a roleplay, in my opinion, is when players give each other things to write about, and interlock stories.

@mattmanganon It seemed fair for me to assure others that there won't be a terrible abuse of time. More to the point, my character would already have been through the proverbial wringer to know the consequences of careless time travel. This one's kind of an anti-hero turning more hero because of her experiences. Like "Okay, this is my second chance. Don't blow it.". I'm perfectly willing to create some plotty myself for our super friends to get involved with.

@FalloutJack In that case, how about your character is sort of the Flashpoint for this timeline. Like, maybe he was the only hero, or the heroes in question were all different, until he fucked up the past and fucked it so hard that suddenly, this is the world that now exists. "Yes, i know what the Justice League is, i understand that part, it makes sense to me... But seriously, what the fuck is an "Avengers?" and why are their faces everywhere?"

@mattmanganon Timekiller originally belonged to none of them, funnily enough. I actually built her up in a My Hero Academia setting. But yeah, I could definitely work her into "Err, uhh, ummm...what the fuck is all this? Who are you guys? Where is my house?" and such. We can have fun with this.
