Dude, calm your socks, some of us (myself for instance) work 10 hours a day 5 days a week, I'll be making a post this evening or tomorrow morning, then I think only zephyr needs to post and brovo can go again, I think, my mind has a tendency to lose track of these things on weekdays as you might imagine.

Raen, if you can't handle the relaxed pace of the RP, you should probably leave now before people become dependent on your character to progress.

If, however, you want to stay: be more respectful. Your comments come across as rude and arrogant. I'm sure you don't intend it as such, but just be a bit more tactful.

If you find yourself with more time, and waiting for this RP to pick up, I suggest picking up another RP.

That's great for you, but other people may have different habits or priorities. Pushing people in advanced rarely works, and I think I speak for a lot of players here when I say that we write and relax at the same time, rather than feel a rush to post. Pressure that kinda mentality, and it'll only demotivate players and delay posts.

*looks at my Royal Blood posts* Yup, sounds about right.

@Raen -- I understand your impatience. Sometimes, I wish the RPs to move faster too. However, I know as well as anyone that there are time constraints. The GMs all have lives to tend to. Sometimes, we find ourselves with more time and can advance quicker. Other times there is a need to slow down. This pace can also change with the players *nods towards Cease Fire and Here Cometh the Wolves* Many of the people here have a busier schedule, and do this for the fun when they have downtime. While I understand some have a quicker pace, if an RP cannot match your beat, and leads to frustration, then perhaps it is not the one for you. I would love to welcome you aboard, you seem like you may be fun to have around. If you can find it in you to content yourself with other RPs during slow times and make contributions here at least once a week, that would be great. However, if you cannot accept that, and need to drop now, I accept that and I wish you the best in whatsoever you might do.

There was another RP on a different site that only had 1 post about every month even though there were 6 people in it. Sure, it took a LONG time for things to go, but that RP was the longest running and had some of the best writing I've seen in RPs. Quality over quantity my friend. You have to be patient especially with RPs that have a lot of people taking part.

Slow moving RP's are convenient for me, because I do a lot of other things, and it's nice to forget about an RP for a week or so and come back and not have held anyone up. I gotta admit though, I think the biggest downfall is attachment to characters. This has nothing to do with Raen. I don't know about you guys, but I have trouble really getting in the head of a character I only visit once every two weeks. Not really a complaint, just an opinion.

Actually, there was a point where LoR:Reborn was getting only a post a month if we were lucky, but it had a lot of collaboration work at that time. It was one of the 3 longest running roleplays in the advanced forum here before the site went down. And one of the 3 most posts in the IC. One of the other 3 RPs that were continuing on so long was one that I saw take a hiatus for 6 months, had a post, then had another few months of break.

Sure, we were not the most productive at times towards the RP, but we had fun, we created an entire world with history and past events... and hey, its brought us all together here, to share it with you. If the story had not been so well loved and had so much commitment from the veterans, I have trouble believing that it would have made it as long as it did, let alone warrant a sequel. :3

I find it to be irritating at times, as the more relaxed the schedule, the more you get people who just up and disappear. You also tend to lose track of what has been going on, and then have to issue of people not being on the same level of understanding. It tends to get clunky and oddly placed. I just feel like an RP should move at a more dedicated pace, instead of every other week, someone posts for the RP.

People leaving happens no matter how pressured the pace. The fact we have such a large size means we can function with it. The way I see it, we are uniquely positioned because the least patient players are shifted away from LoR and get to partake of other RPs with quicker schedules.

We don't want to shift you from the RP Raen, we just want you to understand that the pace of the RP is not going to change to match you. It either happens the other way around or not at all, sadly.

You know, you take shit really personally. I commented on the pace and influidity of the RP. That was it. No matter what, you really can't say it isn't being slow. And I get it. You guys like it when nothing happens. K. I don't expect it to suddenly get faster. People rarely change in such ways on notice.

Please keep this attitude out of the RPs OOC. It does nothing but cause harsh feelings. This was uncalled for. So was the follow-up post. If you are having an issue, bring it to one of the GMs. Do not make comments like that at our players, one who was just stating reasons why this sort of pace works for not just them, but others as well. We're leaving this middle-school drama nonsense at the door. I assume we are all adults here, or close enough that it can be expected to discuss matters maturely and without swearing, making personal attacks, or resorting to passive aggressive statements to everyone present.

Believe me when I say that Gat's work schedule reminds me of a Nazi internment camp regiment. He RP's in advanced because it gives him enough time to do all the work he needs to do to survive.

This RP is slow. Yes. I mentioned one week posting schedules, did I not? At the very least the IC would have made that very clear. Life gets in the way, it slows people down. This RP is humongous, ergo it's slow. If I made a smaller RP (and I do from time to time) those tend to go faster. Why? Less upkeep cost, less players to wait on and work with, etc. To put it in TV terminology: This RP is more akin to Babylon 5 than it is to a cartoon. There's a lot of build-up before you finally hit that pay off. That's just the nature of the beast.

I recommend that you find other RP's and work in those as well if you have so much spare time, or play video games (I know I do!), or if you want to remain centric to this RP try chatting about it with some of the people in this thread. Most of us have messengers I'm sure.

At the very least, keep calm, and try to avoid describing the turtle pace of this RP with the same words you would use to describe the death of half a dozen US presidents strapped to a nuclear missile blasted into space at the planet Klendathu IV. /references galore.

Oh, and one more thing. Tempest, myself, Gat, and Slade all tend to have weeks of work, labour, education or otherwise, that regularly exceed 50 hours as an average. To put it bluntly: The average work week is 40 hours. We're all very busy people, and we like to ensure the utmost in quality in our posts, ergo... We take our time. Sorry. *Shrugs* There's nothing I can do about that. Now if you could invent a time machine or win me a million bucks I'm sure I could institute slave labour camps to churn out posts faster. I don't think you have a million dollars to spare though.

Ah, alcohol...

Oh, and Raen, one last thing...

To take something personally would be to construe personal offense or lament personal damages due to the behavioural patterns of another entity. In no way was this the case, people here were just attempting to explain why things were going slow. This is a logical response to the complaint of things being slow: Explanation.

"Shrug" It seemed personal to me, based on the way he jumped on me for implying that the pace was slow. And yeah, I am not surprised it is. That is fine. I have other RPs, and plenty of schoolwork and a job to keep me busy. It was just a comment that was taken to a level it shouldn't have been taken to. Anyway, yeah, I understand the inane amounts of work. I tend to do 60+ hours a week on my breaks if I can get the hours.
