A typically calm individual, Saffron understands that life is full of things that can go wrong, and so ensures that when opportunities arise for enjoyment that she partakes in them, oftentimes even if those would result in scorning by others. She does this whilst avoiding ventures that would result in her own dissatisfaction, an act that can often have her being observed as fussy or even reclusive if she fails to get herself involved with a group activity that doesn’t have some kind of incentive to have her participate. That being said, Saffron struggles to form bonds with people - she treats people with respect, and it is inevitable that she will come to befriend someone who treats her well in turn, however she can often be reluctant in knowing that those very same bonds can come crashing down and wishing to avoid the possibility as much as she can.
What makes that worse is her own subconscious attempts to have things crash. Saffron enjoys observing people, trying to work out what makes them tick, and what frustrates them so that she can weaponize it against them should they turn on her. Privately, she understands that she is probably making things worse for herself by looking at it that way, and she reasons it out by telling herself that she is preparing for the worst. She sometimes has trouble backing down, disliking the notion of being wrong or weak. Recognising her own weakness in this regard, Saffron will often try to duck out of arguments that she’s on the defending side of.
Appearance
Saffron stands at a height of 5’5 and weight of 126lbs. She has a slim, ectomorphic build, as well as an average bust. She has a pair of cloud coloured eyes, and silvery hair that descends just past her shoulders and onto her upper back; Most of the time, her hair is found brushed, though she doesn’t tend to tie it back, instead letting it hang loose a little. As a Faunus, Saffron also has animal traits - a pair of fox ears atop her head as well as a tail, those traits both being the same silvery colour as her hair.
Emotion-wise, Saffron will often rest with either a neutral expression on her face or a slight smile if she is feeling particularly relaxed. She is prone to smirking when she finds something to be amusing, and is visually expressive whilst she is enjoying herself, often exerting joyous expressions on her face whilst laughing or having a good time. On the other hand, she isn’t so visually expressive with frustration or negative emotion, with a scowl or frown being as far as she goes facially, and crossing her arms over her chest when she is feeling especially annoyed to express herself physically.
As for apparel, any outfit with a hood is Saffron’s main go-to. This doesn’t particularly have to be a hoodie, as cloaks also fit the billet for her. Whilst not particularly fussy when it comes to colour, Saffron does favour darker-coloured clothes, which contrast well against the light of her skin and her hair. Whilst indifferent in deciding between baggy or tight clothes, Saffron will attempt to avoid anything with large or obnoxious logos on them, preferring plain or simple designs.

History:
Money meant freedom, and whilst the Rupalfeather family perhaps were not the richest, they certainly were not the poorest of individuals, either. What this meant for young Saffron was that she came to treasure the freedom that she was granted early in her life, and came to heavily resent any restrictions that were placed upon her by her parents, which often arose in order to prevent Saffron from hurting herself by her adventurous, carefree nature. These early life developments were the foundation of her personality as she grew up, and before her teenage years had even started she was doing what she could to alleviate herself of any negative activities.
Saffron’s parents were too late in acting to change the personality that their daughter had formed. Their daughter’s personality was nothing to be too worried about for the regular parent, however the concerns for Saffron’s parents came for their unbelievingness at the effectiveness of Huntsmen, and their accurate prediction that Saffron would take that route of education. Such a path carried a significant risk of death, and in the eyes of the Rupalfeathers, their daughter would not receive as effective of a training as others due to her Faunus heritage, thus putting her even more at risk. Saffron detested this attitude from her parents, for she did in fact want to be a huntress.
Her parents were correct about one thing, however; Being a Faunus was trouble. Whilst it did not directly impact Saffron’s development, the negativity towards Faunus within the Kingdom of Vale did affect her mood. Thankfully, this changed once Saffron was old enough to go to a combat school; Between Pharos Academy and Signal Academy, she the latter just to get a little further away from her parents, who resided within Vale proper as opposed to the island of Patch where Signal Academy sat. It got her some of the distance that she wanted from those that she felt were holding her back a little.
However, it was at Signal Academy that Saffron truly realised that death was a real possibility, and that working as a huntress was not an easy freedom. However, death was always a possibility wherever she would go, and so she stuck through Signal, continuing her goals to become a Huntress - to do otherwise was pointless, and would put all of her progress to waste, including her manufacturing of Nova Limbo, her weapon and item that she uses with pride due to it being her own, and at that, one of the first things that truly was her’s. It was during her time at Signal that Saffron discovered her semblance, which arose from an extreme feeling of regret during a training session in which she knew she was going to be struck by her sparring partner’s attack due to her own mispositioning, and Doubled Back to a position where she was able to adjust herself.
Graduation from Signal Academy came with a new question; Did she really want to go to Beacon? Saffron spent a week considering her options, as she had an opportunity to choose; Atlas might have taken her if she applied, she could stick with Beacon so that she was close to home, there was Haven Academy in Mistral… Or, she could stick with her ideals of freedom, and choose Vacuo, with Shade Academy positioned there. She knew it would be a much harder experience than the other academies and living within their territories, however such a challenge would make things a little more fun, and help toughen her up a little and gain her the experience that she both wanted and needed.
After making such a decision, Saffron took a little bit of time to prepare during her post-graduation break, both sending off an application to attend and receiving acceptance in return. Her parents, of course, were not too happy with the prospect of their daughter leaving to another kingdom, however at this point she had progressed too far for them to stop her, and so they allowed her to do so. With everything decided, Saffron then used the latter part of her break to travel to Vacuo to attend Shade Academy.

Life comes with regrets, and often people want to forget something they just saw, scroll past it and wipe the fact that they saw it from their memory, or perhaps they wish to repeat something they just did for a greater feeling of satisfaction. They wish to double back, and that’s what Saffron’s semblance is called and allows her to do.
Doubling Back allows Saffron to move herself either mentally or positionally back in time by up to six seconds in the past, though not both at the same time and not physically, meaning she cannot Double Back to remove physical damage to herself such as wounds. By Doubling Back mentally, Saffron is able to clear her mind to keep herself focused, or avoid unsettling thoughts or visuals by forgetting that she ever saw them. Whilst mentally Doubling Back, Saffron is able to set a mental marker so that she knows how to avoid whatever it was she was that had made her Double Back.
Doubling Back positionally allows Saffron to reset her position to the same position that it was up to six seconds in the past. This includes where she was actually positioned, as well as her stance. Doubling Back positionally allows Saffron to avoid an attack that she cannot move her body to defend herself from, or allows her to attack twice by attacking, slipping back in time to where she attacked to strike yet again. Doubling Back positionally does not affect her present momentum and in fact retains it. This means that she can strike before she Doubles Back to pre-strike, or utilise her momentum in a different way than she had before, however can also disadvantage her in some cases; if she Doubles Back whilst falling extremely quickly, her momentum will slam her into the ground anyways.
The semblance has a cooldown of two seconds, meaning that if Saffron is constantly Doubling Back, she is always moving her position forward by two seconds. If an opponent keeps track of this, then they have more of a chance of putting up a defence against it. In addition, if Saffron is placed in a stationary position, the effectiveness of her semblance diminishes over six seconds, as there is less distance than she can Double Back to. In such a case, opponents can easily plan for her Doubling Back if she does so. If she Doubles Back whilst panicked or in an otherwise negative state, Saffron can become disorientated by her new position.
Weapon and Fighting Style:
A Huntress needs a weapon, and so whilst she was at Signal Academy, Saffron forged her weapon, Nova Limbo. The weapon works off of two forms; A bow form, and a sword form, the latter of which usually serves as the weapon’s idle form both due to the difference in size between the two forms and due to Saffron’s favour toward melee as opposed to ranged combat - whilst she can perform at ranged combat, she prefers to be close in with her opponent, partly due to the fact that her semblance assists her more in melee combat than it does at range.
Nova Limbo is built partially for style, but mostly for efficiency. Despite its ability to switch between forms and thus capabilities, both forms are robust and well-manufactured, with the sword and the bow both able to compare well with their non-transforming counterparts in robustness and function, but with the advantage of having both of them in one package. The slight disadvantage is that if one part isn’t maintained well, the weapon may fail to transform properly, which is primarily disadvantageous to the bow form, which requires the transformation to be full in order to have the string taut enough to fire.
Nova Limbo does not use traditional arrows, however works through the usage of dust cartridges that are placed within the handle. There is enough room for two dust cartridges, allowing Saffron to switch between two types of ammunition. Saffron has figured she might be able to modify Nova Limbo in the future to fit four dust cartridges, thus allowing four different types of dust to be used and switched between, however has decided to prolong such modifications until she is more experienced in her craft or can find someone to do it for her, lest she damage her weapon accidentally in the process of modifying it.
The dust that is selected is carried through the blades of the weapon to the string, giving the blades a slight hue of the selected dust’s colour and changing the string’s colour to match that of the dust. The firing of the bow via the pulling of the string fires a visible wave at the target, the impact of which deals blunt damage rather than the typical piercing damage of an arrow. Though selecting dust isn’t a necessity to use the sword form of Nova Limbo, utilising dust gives the blade the same coloured hue, though the dust is concentrated at the tip of the weapon, allowing it’s usage when stabbing or slashing at an opponent. This concentration of dust has a stronger effect than the blunt strike of the bow’s wave attack, however Saffron obviously has to be at closer range to use it.
Stylistically, Saffron both prefers to be at close range and is a motion player, keeping herself on the move. Seldom does she keep her feet still whilst she is fighting, often accompanying her strikes with flourishes and pirouettes. Saffron is not afraid of height, unafraid of leaping at or jumping atop her opponents, and using her semblance where possible to keep herself safe and dish out additional strikes.
Strengths and Weakness:
Saffron has great potential to be a Huntress…
Faunus vision in the dark, as well as great hearing with those big, fluffy ears
Close range prowess, coincidentally also her preferred combat range
Mentally open and free to do as she pleases, allowing herself a great deal of merriment
Unfazed by the cruelty of life, knowing what it can do, thus able to cope a bit better with evil
… Still, she has some things to work on.
Has trouble making lasting bonds with people, including teammates.
Is often unsure of how to represent herself to others
Avoids arguments and debates where possible, which fails to add in her own opinions
Can often be seen as irresponsible, due to risk-taking for enjoyment
Slight feeling of homesickness
Greatest Fear/Fatal Flaw:
Saffron’s biggest flaw is her outlook on life. In knowing that not everything will last forever, and that anyone that she befriends could be gone in an instant, she struggles with forming long-term or even short-term bonds with people, not wishing to endure the feeling of loss if she ends up losing them, which she knows could happen. Her feelings delve deeper than this, as she knows that she herself can only live once, and that can place her in situations that are particularly risky in order to enjoy herself and live out the thrill. She’s going to die one day, but if she dies whilst having fun, what’s the problem?

Anything else you might wanna add to flesh out the details a bit
Standing at a height of 5'6 and weighing 203lbs, Valencia is quite heavy for her size, which comes as a result of her Gargoyle heritage. Her weight does not impact upon her form however, as she retains a slim and ectomorphic build, as well as a fairly average bust. Being part Gargoyle does effect her in other ways, though; Her hair, which is commonly straight and falling to mid-back height, is naturally a silvery colour, and often her porcelain skin can be mistaken for being a light shade of grey. This often happens in the dark (be it dark or dull rooms, shadows, or in the middle of the night), as well as in moonlight. The most prominent part of her Gargoyleness is a pair of grey-coloured wings on Valencia's back, allowing her the limited ability of flight. These are often folded close to her back, tucked to the point where they don't even create a bulge in the back of her apparel.
Expressively, Valencia varies. Her expression is most commonly neutral, and when deviating tends to do so more into the negative of expressions than the positive (though only a little more). She is also physically expressive, folding her arms to show displeasure being commonplace, for example. As part of her Gargoyle heritage, she is able to control her expressions as she pleases, resulting in her being able to be visibly unjudgeable if she so wishes. If you told her to stand in place with one hand up in the air, her eyes wide open, and on one foot, she'd be perfectly able to do so as if she was a statue without complaint for as long as was needed (provided nobody pushes her over). This trait is often represented casually as well, with Valencia frequently standing completely motionless when there is nothing to do and nothing that requires her to move. She is capable of suddenly moving out of this state.
Apparel-wise, Valencia opts to wear armour more than common clothes when outgoing, though will wear casual clothing on occasion. Her armour itself is forged from dark steel, giving it an almost black look, and decorated with intricate patterns to give it some style.
Rune Knight
An expert in fighting and taking it to their foes, knights are highly resilient against attacks due to both their training as well as their tendency to wear strong armour. On the offensive, knights are just as efficient, proving to be experts in fighting at close range, particularly with swords but also proficient in unarmed combat as well as with other weapons. Rune Knights, in specific, are also experienced in writing Runes into their equipment in order to increase their performance and add some magic to both their offense and defence.
Personality
Valencia is typically a pleasant individual to deal with, primarily in the fact that she doesn't go out of her way to bother people in the negative. On the other hand, she does have a rough side to her - individuals that she knows to be negative, such as bullies and assholes, will become a target for her own heinous attacks; whether it be vocal or even physical, as Valencia is not against a good tussle, particularly ones that she knows that she will win. Whilst Valencia if subject to the same emotional surprises that normal humans are, she is capable of withholding these surprises visually. A world-ending god could send everyone around her screaming and running, fearing for their lives, and she instead would be standing there like a hero, whilst internally fearing just as much as the rest of them.
Strengths
Weaknesses
- Extremely resilient, both by armour that is worn, and natural armour granted to her by being part Gargoyle.
- Being able to mask her expressions also can have someone questioning if she's telling the truth about how she's feeling.
- Extremely proficient at hand-to-hand combat, including unarmed combat, and with a high mastery of blades, particularly swords.
- Can often feel like an outcast, due to being part Gargoyle not being common whatsoever, and even viewed as partly evil at first glance.
- A strong individual, able to fight a man much taller than her, and even win that same fight, and strong enough that heavy armour doesn't hamper her mobility too much.
- On that note, can often be seen as evil by those who know where she hails from or those who hear about her past without judging her for who she is.
- Great night vision, able to see in the dark very well. Great for creeping from the shadows pretending to be a statue.
- Whilst resilient, Valencia does not have many ranged capabilities, leaving it up to her to close the distance for attack.
- The champion of statue impressions, able to accurately control both her expressions and posture as much as, well, a statue, giving her the advantage of surprise and some fun.
- A very light nagging in her brain, constantly attempting to turn her towards the path of darkness. It's so constant that Valencia has learned to ignore it as if it was never there.
Biography
Valencia was created as the incarnation of evil - or rather, she was created to follow a life of evil in the footsteps of her father, sir Jaune Coquerdale, an evil and rich wizard that desired to have a child to call his own and carry on in his name. Typically, one would go to a woman in order to start a family, however sir Jaune put his effort into researching a way into making his child unique and to give her advantages over others. It resulted in him soon looking into Gargoyles, for their abilities to fly, their natural armour, and most importantly to sir Jaune, their natural evilness. And so he made all of the preparations he could, poured his research into creating a child from a Gargoyle egg, and when the time was right, begun the process of incubating the egg.
What sir Jaune did not take into account was that being partly Human, his newly born daughter would be able to control the evil urges that the Gargoyle part of her tried to drill into her. Despite his displeasure that his plan had failed at the beginning, he held faith, and continued to nurture her as she grew up, being a surprisingly good father figure in contrast to his normally evil public persona. Tutoring was not done publicly, but was done privately within sir Jaune's estate by hired tutors, who worked not just for the money that they were given but also out of fear of what would happen if they refused.
As she grew old enough to have a mind of her own and not blindly follow in her father's footsteps, Valencia became aware of the truth behind the Coquerdale name, and why even her own tutors trembled in front of her. Evil was a little bit of an understatement in describing her family name, as sir Jaune Coquerdale was responsible for some quite heinous acts. Over time, Valencia's relationship with her father became shaky, particularly since he didn't bother to stop even after she had been born. A book that she read at the age of eleven about the Horrors of Iziari Village came from things that her father had done whilst she had been three years old and left home with his servants.
Despite her growing dislike for her father's moralities, Valencia could not help but enjoy the benefits that she was granted by being his daughter. An estate to roam, despite the servants of evil that often made their way through the grounds, and the ability to choose her path unlike those who were too poor to do so. This included choosing to dodge her father's insistence in delving deep into magics and instead learning the art of swordsmanship. She could only go so far in her elusion, as sir Jaune was her father, and so they came to a compromise; He wouldn't ban her from learning swordsmanship, and using the estate and it's resources to do so, as long as Valencia learned the art of crafting runes as well, in order to grant her at least some magic capabilities. Valencia agreed.
Using the resources of the estate, Valencia honed herself in close-ranged combat with swords and other weapons, and learned the art of using runes. The resources were not just limited to books, but her tutors that knew how to teach in the best way possible, and the guards with their experience. Valencia relied heavily upon the latter, going so far as to use her position as sir Jaune's daughter to pull guards off duty in order to duel them on the grounds. Sir Jaune allowed this, for he saw this as her learning how to be demanding, and a powerful leader. However, there soon came a point where Valencia's learning had to be taken a step further. Both Valencia and sir Jaune believed that Valencia was capable enough to attend Hoseforn's Academy. Honing her skills would help her become a better villain, one thought. The other believed honing her skills would put her on the path of a hero. And so, the application was sent.

Name
Azure Kintredsten
Age
16 years of age.
Race
Azure is a Faunus with fox ears.
Nationality
Mistrali
Physical Description
Azure stands at a height of 5'2 and has a weight of 108lbs. She has a slim, ectomorphic build as well a below-average bust. She has a pair of light blue eyes, and has light azure coloured hair that flows down to her lower back. Her hair is straight, and often hung free and brushed rather than tied up. Apparel-wise, her typical casual outfit will be bright and blue in colour, and her outdoor clothing is that of which is pictured above. She isn't particularly picky however, and can wear something else if her typical outfit isn't available. She has a spiritual belief in wearing pyjamas to relax, however.
Characterization
Lost Azure in a crowd? Locate the nearest confectionary stand, and take peace in the fact that you have found her. Many things can be used to describe Azure, but most people default to describing her as someone with childish glee, someone endlessly excitable, someone preciously naïve. She enjoys all of the wonders that life has to give, and isn't usually against going out with her friends to enjoy the outdoors. Azure tends to show her high spirits with both vocal and physical expressions, and paired with her often hyper mannerisms, can result in her hopping about and needing to be told to calm down a bit. It can often act as a visual marker for her mood, too; It's easy to tell when she isn't quite feeling at her best, unless she is using her Semblance, False Advertisment, to suppress this.
Her almost childlike, excitable demeanour can often result in her being underestimated in ability by those before her. Due to her time in Kuchinashi, Azure doesn't falter when it comes to tough situations. She isn't unaccustomed to scary situations; A horrifying environment with blood on the walls isn't likely to faze her much, but a murderer in her face, ready to strike, will worry her. It's what'll happen to her, and her friends, that actually concerns her more than terror itself. Despite this, she can still hold up in combat, and is typically a steady individual to have in a fight.
Backstory
The city of Kuchinashi was a terrible one to grow up in for a child. Almost everyone in the city had not-so-good intentions or connections to the criminal underworld, with very few exceptions. Some of those exceptions came in the form of huntsmen, who only came by to snatch someone of an adequate-enough bounty to take away to the proper authorities. Young Azure Kintredsten saw the Huntsmen as powerful people, ones who were able to prevent themselves from being caught by the various criminals that tried to stop them, mostly lower gang affiliates trying to stop the kidnappings and captures of their leaders.
However, at the same time, Azure saw them as the enemy. Some of the people that they injured during their acts were her friends, and thanks to the propaganda that she was receiving, she saw them as the ones on the bad side. Her father was the leader of a gang named the Last Ones Out, and from his 'education' of her, as well as the almost entirely corrupt schooling of Kuchinashi, she saw the good people as the bad people. Her mother was but a pawn of her father, following his every whim and call, and was not very diverse in her beliefs, mostly sticking to Azure's father's words.
This heavy type of upbringing was pivotal in how she decided to lead her life. With what she was going through, and the glum streets of Kuchinashi, she looked for fun wherever she could find it. She was slightly unusual in that she was smiling a lot, quite bright compared to the constant grey that the locals were telling themselves they were in. In truth, that was only partially thanks to her upbringing. She had discovered her semblance, False Advertisement, in trying to fake cheerfulness. Not being sure how to adjust it's emotion-adapting form, she soon took the persona of being cheerful and let it be her front.
However, her life wasn't directing her to anything cheerful. She grew up to be a vigilante, though not so much one that fought against evil but one that fought specifically against the huntsmen. To her, she wasn't a criminal, a brawler. She was a defender of the people that she grew up with. Obviously, young Azure was not going to be able to fight Huntsmen as she was, however as what she was doing got around and other criminal gangs heard about it, she gained even more support, in turn growing the influence of the Last Ones Out due to her familial heritage - those gangs would want protection against the huntsmen, too, and some even went so far as to sponsor her, to offer training.
It was a man named Cleaver that changed that mindset. He was one of the ones training her to be the vigilante that she wanted to be, however over time, he managed to talk to her about how she felt, to test her emotions and opinions alongside testing and improving her combat capabilities. As time went on, Cleaver went from one of the trainers to the trainer, as he seemed to have more of understanding of how she felt, and he was very competent and able in his teachings. As the years passed, Azure no longer saw the huntsmen as the evil that she once thought they were. She saw them as warriors, and that being a huntsman wasn't an indication if you were good or bad, but it was an indication that you were skilled, and that you were capable. And she wanted to be one of them, to become licenced in order to show that she was strong, too. Azure expressed this to Cleaver, who seemed unsurprised at this. He was, however, impressed with how much she had grown during the time that he had been teaching her, in both a social aspect as well as in her combat capabilities. It was because of this that he offered her a chance to go to Haven Academy, in order to work on becoming a Huntress, alongside getting some more formal education, under the condition that she kept him up to date with how things were going. He told her he had methods to get her in alongside the students, to learn just like them. Azure agreed.
And so, Azure was sent packing to go to Haven Academy. The age waiver was accepted by Haven due to the letter of recommendation that Haven received from a Huntsman known as Garnet 'Cleaver' Percival, a huntsman working undercover for Haven authorities in order to investigate the actions of the criminal gang known as the Last Ones Out as well as criminal activities in Kuchinashi. He described her as a strong, capable individual that was able to learn, and able to adapt in the adrenaline of the moment.
Semblance
False Advertisement Revealing and utilising things that weren't in the original product description.
The simplest form of False Advertisement is that Azure is able to portray a personality that is completely fictitious. She is able to portray herself as a confident hero, a terrified bystander, or anything else that she finds to suit the present situation. By doing this, Azure is able to conceal her true emotions, giving her an advantage in scenarios which require a particular type of emotion to be emanated, such as lanyard-and-clipboard type situations or situations where showing a certain type of emotion would be a disadvantage.
False Advertisement does not stop at just emotions, however. Azure is able to create decoys of herself, which are physical and able to be touched physically, though attacks from them do not harm their targets, and they are able to speak and communicate. However, as per the name of the semblance, those decoys are false, and aren't an entirely accurate facade to the original. A decoy that is created could differ from the original in any random way; It could have a different personality, a slightly different appearance, different weapon. It's mostly useful against mindless Grimm, who don't have too much care for the differences of a decoy, and with some luck can be used against Human opponents if the decoys are not too obviously decoys. Azure is able to direct a decoy, telling it what to do, however she cannot tell it how to do it.
Over time, Azure wishes to hone her practice with False Advertisement. Whilst she is confident with it, she wishes to become better with it, such as being able to adjust the traits of a decoy in order to make it more accurate and better at fooling non-Grimm opponents. She also wants to attempt creating large amounts of decoys at the same time in order to make a crowd, and make it a lot harder to pick out the original even if there is a wide variety of randomness within each decoy.
False Advertisement does not just stop at just emotions, however. Azure can activate False Advertisement on an item, such as weapons or clothing, which imbues it with a new effect. For instance, when using False Advertisement on a weapon, it could be sharper than it should normally be, or the dust cartridges within it could have greater capacity than the originals had, allowing for more uses before running out. Or, she could use it on her clothing, imbuing it with greater resistance to damage, waterproofness, or extra softness, for example.
Over time, Azure wishes to hone her practice with False Advertisement. Whilst she is confident with it, she wishes to hone it and become better with it, such as being able to apply it to enemies in a negative fashion, for example making their weapons more brittle and less effective than they originally were intended or meant to be, or lowering their defence somehow.
Weapon & Fighting Style
Starsweeper
A weapon that comes in three different forms, Starsweeper was made by Azure with some assistance from her mentor, Cleaver. It was made to be fairly simple yet adaptable, able to be switched up to be useful in a wide variety of scenarios, as well as to be useful both with and without the addition of dust. Stylistically, Azure generally prefers to be at close to medium range with her opponents and to strike with rapid movement, unafraid of leaping straight at them if the situation provides her the opportunity to do so, but able at firing from range, too.
The first form of Starsweeper is it's sword form, which also serves as it's idle form and the form which Azure will be carrying it around in either on her back or on her side. In this form, it does not have any ranged capabilities and serves as a melee weapon, although it's blade has longer reach than the other two forms and so is more suited to melee attacks than the other two forms.
The second form serves as almost an intermediate form between the first and third. It's form is still mostly swordlike, and capable of serving as a shortsword compared to the longsword structure of the first form. It's blade, however, is slightly wider than the longsword form and is split down the middle, leaving a gap for the firing mechanism so that it can start engaging targets at range, even whilst keeping it's close-range capabilities.
The third and final form of Starsweeper extends the hilt and lowers an internal frame, turning the hilt into a stock, and lowers the crossguard into a magazine-like position. This essentially makes the third form of Starsweeper a gun, and the most suited form to engaging targets at range. The blade of the weapon is still sharp, however, so can still be used to attack targets at close range, however in more of a bayonet fashion than that of a sword.
Starsweeper is also capable of utilising dust. The dust is stored in the crossguard/magazine section of the weapon, room for six dust cartridges of any combination. The dust is utilised in two different ways; The first way is through the blade itself, allowing the blade to carry the effect of the dust that is currently selected. The markings on the weapon glow with the colour of the dust type that is currently selected. The other way for the dust to be utilised is through the firing mechanism of the weapon, and serving as it's ranged attack ammunition. It is capable of firing a slug of the selected dust type at a target. If the weapon doesn't have dust, it isn't able to use its ranged attack functions.
Intangibles
Azure is a skilled combatant, one who is competent and capable whilst she is serving on the field of battle, and good enough to be admitted into Haven Academy without having gone through a combat school first, albeit with the added recommendation of a Huntsman that had been mentoring her. She has a good head on her shoulders, able to both be adaptable as well as being a good learner and recipient of information. On the other hand, whilst she is good at receiving the information, she doesn't have too much of it in her head in the first place. She is, however, still quite troubled about the path that she could have gone on, and that what she had known in the past was almost completely wrong.
