"Why does my back ache?" Body Horror Interest Check?

Here is the OoC.

Exactly as it sounds? The RP starts off with characters from the same city experiencing a terrible back ache, and proceeds from there with a reasonable pacing. The mutation can be as random as growing pretty and feathery angel wings, to having your bones begin to evacuate your body through your lower back in a painful and shock inducing manner...it's a body horror, there will be gore and foul language. You have been warned, though a warning shouldn't have been necessary, since it's kind of obvious.

Not sure if the mutation should be randomly assigned, or PM discussed. This is no power/superpower RP, so those people should turn around from here.

Oh, I love gore, horror and descriptive grossness! This sounds right up my alley. How would the characters be drawn together? By intuition, "It" style? Or otherwise?

This is the other thing worth deciding. My first idea is indirectly hearing about each other when going to a doctor or specialist during the early stages, and interacting on an online forum about the symptoms and/or possible treatments...slow going, I think...all suggestions are on the table, though.

I am entirely interested! I think it would be more fun if the mutations were given out randomly, maybe through a number generator. And the online chat room idea sounds very interesting and clever.
