Henlo! Welcome to my first interest check! I've written an rp on here before but ... i didn't actually stop to see if anyone was interested first, -heh-. SO this time I wanna yknow git some buzz going! Git that hype! Anyway, the idea is pretty simple but I'll give it some flare;
The earth is dying, but not all hope is lost. The nations of the world have come together in one final act of foresight and built the great colony ships. 36 massive ships designed to seed human life onto new worlds. The crew are young adults selected by lottery and trained into a variety of required positions. Prepared until the very last moments they are sealed into suspended animation and launched in every direction.
The ships are designed for deep space. The are equipped to deal with the hazards of space, capable of navigating independently and detecting life-sustaining worlds at great distances. Most importantly they hold the seeds of a new human race, and the keys to their survival. The journey, however, is perilous for each of the arks. Some are destroyed by hazards too powerful to be resisted, some are disabled by unforeseen system failures or encounters with strange parts of space, but other find their mark in the vastness of space; planets with suitable environments for human life.
Those ships engage the last part of their mission, scanning the planet for the most habitable location and separating into landing sections and stellar sections. Landing sections fall to the planet at the designated location to become the first base of operations for the colony to be, while the stellar sections remain in orbit acting as a communication array and functional space station if such a thing becomes needed.
That's the normal plan anyway.
Our story surrounds a group trained, in part, as emergency crew that is awoken mid-landing when a system failure knocks out landing engines on the actual colony section of the ship.
... i hope some of that was a little clear >snort< post here if ur interested, and don't just be like "i'm interested in this!" tell me what kind of character you would play ... i'm thinking like engineers and botanists and stuff, and everyone is kinda combat trained a little, but there are also soldiers and stuff ... i dunno, gimme ur ideas xD
