Personality Traits
Quiet – Mischievous - Creative – Responsible – Loyal – Snarky – Naive – Snobbish
Out of his siblings, Bastién takes after their mother more than the other two. He can be seen as calm and quiet, two kinds of virtue that his mother Adelaide valued as “Most becoming of a lovely gentleman!”. She always pushed her children to concern themselves with self-improvement and the obedient son that he was he kept to it with his piano playing and got to the level he is now, which is that of a concert pianist. One of his many hobbies is to take classical pieces and put his own creative modern twist on it.
Growing up in the gilded environment that the Bonfamille children did, made Bastién very hard to impress and easily bored so he likes to cause trouble where he can. If you don’t watch out you might find yourself being pranked without even knowing it. He is also one to quickly get annoyed and is usually the first to give a snide look and a snarky comment to something that he doesn’t like. Some may say that he is a snob and a half but you can’t really blame him for the way his parents chose to raise him and his siblings. He is used to the finer things in life and will not settle for anything less than.
Bastién is the more responsible of the three children. This means that he gets tasked with whatever their parents throw his way, be it organizing the annual Bonfamille charity ball held at the university or making sure that his brother and sister show up to their weekly dinners. He does this begrudgingly because he likes being praised by his parents and he loves his brother and sister over all else. He is someone you can trust and in return, he will trust you if he calls you his friend to the point that some might call him naive. Because in his eyes why would a friend betray him?
Upbringing Synopsis
Thomas and Adelaide Bonfamille always wanted to have the perfect child to continue the long lineage of the Bonfamille name. But as both of them were kept busy with their careers it got put on the back burner for some time. When they decided it was time to try it would turn out getting pregnant was easier said than done. After trying for 2 years with no luck, the couple decided to try IVF. And lucky they did because not only did Adelaide become pregnant with one perfect child, three little heartbeats could be heard when she and Thomas went in for the first ultrasound.
Nine months after that on March 19th, 2000 Theodore, Madeleine, and Bastíén came into the world. From the very start, the children were privy to the lifestyle that the Bonfamille name brought with it. Which is to say lush. Whatever they wanted they had. But this of course came with pressure from their parents for them to live up to Thomas and Adelaide’s expectations for them to grow up to be “A lovely lady and gentlemen” as their mother often put it. So whenever they put a foot out of line they often got hit with a “Now that’s just not the behavior of an aristocrat” or a “Stop that, that’s horrible.”. And if the answer wasn’t a curt “Yes, Mama.” they would never hear the end of it. All of this came from a place of love of course. Adelaide wanted the best for her miracle children and she wanted them to presented as just that, the best. Even though her job kept her away from her babies she made sure they got the best education and extracurricular activities such as piano lessons, art teachers, a spot on a top-ranked ballet troupe or vocal coaches.
Their father Thomas was a bit more lenient when letting his children be children. He would often put money in their secret personal accounts so they could do whatever they wanted. Maybe to make up for him not being around much, but for him, that was the best way he could keep track of what his children were up to.
This, in turn, made the siblings near inseparable. Sure, they all had different interests and occasionally they would have a small argument here and there but they always made up in the end. Now that they are attending Meadow University they all have found their own ways to go, but in the end, they always find time for each other. It is a time-honored tradition in the Bonfamille family to have dinner together once a week.
Meadow University has always been the Ivy League school that the siblings were destined to attend. Their family had gone there for three generations, so there was no talk about them going to any other school or god forbid not going to school at all. Even though Bastién felt like academics where an utter wast of time, he always did what was expected of him. And if he would’ve opted out of going to Meadow University he would have been cut off quicker than he could play the finale of Beethovens Moonlight Sonata.
