Despite her bland appearance Himaru is a jovial individual. She enjoys meeting new people and pokemon alike. Though generally soft spoken she is not, by any means, a shy person, nor is she a pushover. She can also be quite stubborn, once she has decided something it is hard to change her mind. This makes first impressions very important to her as once she views someone as rude or untrustworthy it takes a lot to change her opinion. She generally lacks tact, described as brutally honest, or honest to a fault she will tell you exactly what she thinks when asked. She does manage to keep her thoughts to herself unless directly asked.

Himaru was born in Saffron Village, her mother was also a “Spiritualist” though she was mostly known as the fortune teller. Himaru was taught the art of fortune telling by her mother though she never really took much interest in it. Instead, from an early age she displayed a strange ability to communicate with spirits. The main way this was displayed was through her ability to calm her mother’s partner pokemon, at the time just a ghastly, when it was getting especially mischievous.

Himaru traveled with the mother around the land until eventually her mother grew ill and was no longer able to travel. They settled back in Saffron Village when this happened and her mother maintained her fortune telling business until she finally passed away. Leaving Himaru and the newly evolved Haunter alone.

Her mother’s death was about 5 years ago and since then Himaru and Haunter, who she eventually nicknamed Zen, have since attempted to abandoned the likes of fortune telling and have taken to quelling the local spirits and ghost type pokemon alike. She and her partner traveled to the various villages and settlements but with the tension recently it has made it harder and harder to travel from place to place. So she has stationed herself in Saffron Village, unfortunately opening up the old fortune teller’s stall in order to make ends meet but still spending her time communing with the spirits as well as training her Haunter.
