Name: Shin Ashwood Age: 12 Appearance: Often neat and well-dressed, Shin carries himself confidently for a young teen. He has black hair and red eyes. He's rather average-sized for his age. His clothing is considered traditional in his family and he's very particular about making sure it doesn't get damaged through his adventures. Key Item: Pokedex
Personality: Shin is the type of kid who tries to be more mature than he really is— emulating adults around him to make sure that he gets taken seriously. He tries to be the voice of reason among his friends though he's easily swayed whenever it's something cool or interesting that's happening. Despite all of his tries to be much more responsible, he falls for his own childish impulsiveness. His demeanor crumbles when he finds something interesting and fawns over it before trying to keep his composure— but continues to miserably fail at it.
History: Shin was born and raised in Pastoria City with his parents. His father is a Pokemon Ranger who was stationed to patrol the Great Marsh while his mother worked within the Safari Zone to make sure that the people are following the rules while also maintaining the Safari Zone. For the most part, Shin has enjoyed a relatively normal life. He hadn't been planning on becoming a trainer, at first. Like most people in Pastoria City, Shin was going to stay inside the city to eventually grow up and help with the protection of the Great Marsh. However, due to watching multiple interviews on Pokemon Trainers, the idea of being able to complete the Pokedex entered his mind. He had stored this dream for when he had more knowledge about Pokemon and battles. When he was ten years old, his mother had brought him to the Safari Zone to help him catch his first Pokemon.
Shin and his mother had found an injured Croagunk during this. Worried, his mother had ordered Shin to bring the Croagunk to the Pokemon center while she went off to investigate. Shin brought the pokemon back to the pokemon center and stayed with the Croagunk and fed it the bait he was given for the Safari. When his mother had returned, reporting to the police that a poacher had been caught, the pair released the Croagunk into the Safari once again. However, a few days after, Shin's mother came back with the same Croagunk, stating that it kept coming to her and the Croagunk stuck with Shin ever since. A few years down the line, Shin finally felt that he was ready enough to take on the world.

As in the pokemon is an egg currently or the pokemon is born from an egg already? Either is fine, place captured in the pokemon spot just refers to where you got it, you don't necessary need to have "captured" it.
1 question: Seeing how there are only a certain amount of Pokedexes in the world, does this mean that this dakes place in an alternative time-setting to the games? If so, when does it fall, like are we gonna be running into team Rocket or is it going to be the old/new Team Galactic?

We're basically acting like the games didn't happen, though galactic is out of the picture right now. Going to run with team rocket, though it won't have anyone you know in it.
Name: Rich Redgrave Age: 12 Appearance: Key Item: TM Case Personality: An aspiring Pokemon Researcher, specializing in the psychic link between humans and their pokemon, he has been performing experiments designed to gauge these traits. One of his current experiments is to try to bond with an egg that his grandmother gave him. As such, he is not one to battle unless forced. He prefers to try to talk situations out. Upon encountering a new pokemon, his first reaction will usually be to attempt to communicate telepathically. And although he is too young to own or ride one yet, he finds Motorbikes to be super-cool and dreams of one day owning one. He has very few memories of his father, but is extremely close to his grandmother who wanted to teach him to become a Spirit Medium, much to his mothers disapproval. His one fatal weakness is that he is deathly afraid of Dark-type pokemon. They represent a blank space in his psychic vision and it sends chills down his spine to be close to them. History: Richard was born to a society of Psychics and Spirit Mediums in Saffron City, he is no different. His Father was a Psychic who left to search for Legendary Pokemon, specifically, Lugia. Richard was raised by his mother and Grandmother, both spirit mediums. It was tradition in their family that Males would become Psychics and females would become Spirit Mediums. Rich, however, was trained by his grandmother as a Spirit Medium (Specifically because she had always wanted to be a Psychic). He was very close to his Grandmother, and when his fathers messages stopped, he feared the worst. As such, when he turned 10 he went to the prestigious Trainer Academy in Sinnoh where he met some friends and they came up with a master-plan; They were gonna complete a Pokedex over the summer. Find and catalogue every Pokemon in the world. He was hesitant at first, wanting to go home to visit family... But at the same time, this adventure could be an invaluable opportunity to look for his father and further his studies. Meeting every Pokemon in the world would be amazing, he could see which pokemon he can psychic-link with. The only problem is that his only Pokemon that he had was his Abra that didn't know a single offensive move. As such, when he phoned his Grandmother to tell her, she sent him a Yamask to protect him.
