Ghiar

♎ ♎ ♎

Ghiar noticed a humanoid-like creature staring at him and greeted him as well. She appeared humanoid on the top half of her body, very pale and quite elegant looking. Her orange eyes were mysterious and almost intimidating, yet he had seen similar lifeforms close to hers. He allowed for a faint smile since he didn’t know what else to do at first, “Thank you,” he appreciated the warm welcome. @Song Book

Boo! Seeming to react, he seemed to be somewhat surprised when the younger individual came over to spook or scare him. The faded blue hues of his body began to change into a yellow, resembling a brighter emotion. Surprise or happiness, most likely. His main appearances were shades of gray, from black to white except for the tainted colors that changed throughout his skin.
The gray-creature eyes were a grayish blue, barely having color in them though his black pupils seemed to stand out, “I doubt that I am dead,” he informed the unique character. His overall nerves were already shot, so Anya’s attempt to scare him faded quickly in the other overwhelming emotions.

I usually look like this,” he gestured his hands out in front of him, wiggling his fingers. His motions were gentle and seemed to keep a friendly aura around him, as a gentle smile appeared on his expression. Looking over to the person that was noted to be, Asami, he seemed to note people’s names mentally.
Thinking about it for a moment, he decided to introduce himself, “I am Ghiar, it is a pleasure to meet you,” he held his hand out.

Putting herself up-right and lowering herself to the ground, Anya looked at Ghiar in bewilderment.

"You usually look like this? It's so cool!" Anya gave him another grin, baring her sharp-teeth as she did.
The fae shook his hand, "Anya Daymourn, It's nice to meet you Ghiar!"

Peering back at the unusual-looking hand, Anya asked,
"What exactly are you? I mean- I've never seen anything like you before, and you're not dead.. are you a type of fae, like me? Or a sort of light creature like Asami- but dark?"
The girl threw out guesses as she spoke, trying to work out what the figure in front of her was.

~Lyren~

The door swung inwards softly as a tall figure, around ten feet or so in total, with an expressionless face akin to marble floated into the tavern, its obsidian robes trailing along the ground as it went. Drawing closer to a table, Lyren took a seat and put a pair of their arms forward, a drink conjuring itself seemingly out of thin air. Bringing the cup up to unmoving lips, they took a sip of the star-flecked liquid as their lidless gaze roamed around the room. Taking in the details of each and every occupant before returning to the beverage swirling within cup once more.

After slipping through the gathering people the young dark haired waiter boy returns from the kitchen very VERY carefully carrying a thick heavy mug.
His eye are trained intently on it, only flicking up for the briefest moments to spot those around him. Steam billows and curls up from the open rim and a soft glow illuminates his face.

Each step is slow and steady as he works extremely hard to keep the liquid container level. Slowly weaving amongst the people coming and going as he makes his way towards the little girl.@PhansiteMona
The boy nearly walking right into the tall four-armed figure that just entered the tavern. The liquid and glowing light from the mug sloshing precariously close to escaping for one breath stopping moment. @Zyx

Lyren paid the disturbance little mind, and moved with preternatural speed and accuracy to stabilize the serving boy with another hand. One that did not seem to be a part of the main two, and one that disappeared just as quickly beneath the robe's folds. They then returned to their drink, the liquid never seeming to end.

Dorian was as calm and hostly as ever. Attentive to everyone’s needs before they were even aware of them. He shifted through the people, wiping tables and moving chairs with an unnatural ease and efficiency. He slid amongst the patrons barely noticeable. More than once he was in the right spot at the right time to catch a falling glass or stop a chair from toppling over.
But as seamlessly busy as he was, when Vendril spoke he was there, fully attentive and his elegant clothing as pristine and immaculate as always.

“How may I help?”

Unknowing of the extent of what he was doing, but at least had the idea that the man was busy so he expected to wait a bit. Surprise hitting him for a moment before smiling as he leans forward on the counter. "Sorry for being a bother, I just was curious about that being that showed up earlier. Reminded me of somethin and I was just wanting to ask." Seeming chipper as usual yet there was a hint of something else behind his eyes, as if he was struggling with something. Besides that, before Dorian could reply he also added on as he straightens up. "And if you need help I'd be happy to assist, seeing as you now have a full house!"

“Assistance is always appreciated, it would be nice to rely on the tavern imps a bit less. You will be accordingly compensated.” He said with a nod and a smile.

A good chuckle radiated from the man as Dorian suggested pay, waving it away as he smiles at the man. "Please, I don't need compensation. Think of it as just a show of good faith." His smile breaking however as he sighs and looks at the counter as his finger roams along it's top, shifting in place and looking uncomfortable in a way at the thought of maybe needing to bring up certain topics. However he wouldn't leave the man in the dark as he speaks. "There was a gentleman from before, blanketed in light and he took another patron away from this place. I just wanted to know who they were? Their affiliation and such, he reminded me of something in my past and I'd rather feel better knowing I'm not gonna have issues staying here is all."

Dorian took to wiping the bench, his gaze down as he spoke quietly. A stern serious edge tinting his voice.

Even those powerful beings that define themselves god’s cannot truly ever grant anything with 100 percent certainty. Life is layered with mystery and chaos...
This is not a refuge for one to hide from his own past, present or future. But at the same time who the patrons were or who they will become is not of our concern.
The tavern decides who will come and when they will go. It’s reasonings are a mystery even to me. Besides, it wasn’t their time to leave, they are simply
” he pauses to look up at Vendril thinking of the next words. “In another room.

As the polished wood shines with a clean sheen a professional and slightly distracted smile spreads across Dorians face.

Then with an assuring nod he adds.
”I’m 99.9 percent sure that nothing will happen here that you are not yet ready for.” The words as cryptical as the expression on his face.

Watching thr smaller character carefully, she appeared to be very curious. He appreciated that there were many friendly individuals at this establishment. Chuckling when the young girl seemed to be excited about how he looked, all the time, and he would never think of it as cool. To him, it was completely normal, "Thank you for thr kind words,"

Shaking the smaller characters hand, he seemed to study her reactions and facial features. Her teeth were sharp, other than that she appeared innocent and childlike - an interesting correlation. "Anya is a beautiful name," he complimented her while giving a glance around the inside of the tavern a bit more.

Thinking about her questions and guesses to what he could be, he gave Anya a smile. How could he explain what he was without going on a long rant of nonsense? He thought about that for a few seconds before answering, "I am not a fae or a light creature, I do not think I fit into those categories at least," he mentioned before explaining what he was. "I do not know if you ever heard of horoscopes or star signs, but I am a child of the stars. I was created from all the astrological signs in thr night sky, so I appear to be this," he explained to the other. That was the best explanation that he could come up on the spot with.

The more he talked with the other and calmed down, the more the colors faded on his skin. He began to appear monochrome all over his body instead of having any color show at the moment.

Now this took a turn Vendril was not expecting, he'd listen to the words as rubs his chin. He couldn't deny it was ominous and now it's come to be apparent that the tavern had its own mind. This wasn't something he wasn't accustomed to with everything he's been through, yet it adds onto the notes he was taking that he would have to step lightly and carefully. Though towards the end of Dorian's words he'd crack a slight smile as he nods.

"I understand and I won't cause trouble unless it comes knocking, but you must understand my paranoia..." His eyes glancing towards the crowds before looking back at the man and shrugging. "I've been in two wars that lasted far too long, I made enemies I didn't want to make.” Though afterwards a slight smile broke on his face as he placed his tea on the countertop. His hand settled itself next to the cup as his fingers gently tapped against the material. “Not all bad though, even if I’m not the same being I once was, I like how things turned out for myself.

Lavender finally decided to look up to face the man. She took care to show no emotion in her body language but her expression would’ve told anyone she was not intimidated.

”Fine, I suppose.” She started after the man finished speaking. ”None of them are mine, heavens no. If you’re going to get me to take my mask off you could’ve done so more subtly.”

She glanced around the room, humming slightly in surprise of all the conversations she could listen into. She may have decided that there was enough drama for today, but a little bit of eavesdropping never hurt her.

”Hell no. Why would I want you to take it off?” he asked sliding down into a seat nearby.
”It’s much more exciting this way.”

Still grinning at that mask, Clay clicked his fingers in the air and spoke in a language that seemed beyond him. The sounds came out like a low bubbling beneath water, syllables just beyond the grasp of comprehension. Like the words teetered in the peripheral of ones ears, there was something there but it could not be focused on. They were laced with shadow and darkness, audibly so as well as visually.

He only yawned as he lean back. A serving shadow imp forming on the table before them. It’s wide hollow eyes looking from Clay to Lavender and then back again as it held out a clean clear bottle, near as large as itself, a caramel brown liquid sloshing about within.

”Work here long enough and you learn some tricks.” he says, ignoring the fact that Lavender seems to be ignoring him.
”Want to see if it can get you anything?”

Clay takes the bottle from the small demonic creature. Hands now empty, it takes its own tail in those long claw like fingers and shyly hugs it against its boney chest as it stands waiting.

It’s rare that we have little more option than liking where we are at or living in misery.” Dorian says with a certainty and look beyond that of his usual confidence and surety that says this tibbit of wisdom is one long learned through experience.

As if they were always in his hands, (although they were not) Dorian settles down two shot glasses between them, and pouring from a modest height fills both up with a flowing dark green liquid that nearly glows as it cascades down into the small glass container, without a single drop spilling.

Most of us cannot change who we were. Most of the time we don’t even truly know who we are right now.
But we can always work on being who we want to be.”

With that last line he picks up one of the tiny drinks, holds it out to Vendril, and after the glasses chink, throws back the vile drink and lets it burn its way down his throat. Giving a forced smile as it does.

"That is somewhat true, we always have the power to change our lives, but some things can't change no matter how hard we try." Watching him pull out the shot glasses, then shortly after the liquid as Vendril sighs softly. He wasn't fond of any alcohol besides wine, but he was willing to make an exception here.

With that he'd take his glass, smile at the man and hold his hand forward to allow the chink between the glasses, this was a form of both respect and tradition Vendril would never forgo. Bringing the glass to his lips and downing the substance as he flinches and stiffens, unlike Dorian it wouldn't settle well for Vendril. Coughing several times as he gently smacks his fist against the counter, though after a moment he'd groan and blink to regain his senses as he looks at the glass. "Not trying to kill me are ya?"

An effort to joke really, his voice gave that much away as he chuckles and places the shot glass back on the counter. His elbow on it to support him as he rested his head on his hand. "I remember it all so well... I remember the kingdom I lived in when I was younger, I wasn't all that grand or anything even if I was of Copper Dragonkin. I did want more and I worked towards it, it was within my reach..." Using his other hand as he stares off to the side at nothing, just lost in his story. Though his smile faded as he continues and reeled his hand back. "That changed however when the War came to my world, they took me and many other dragonkin and turned us into living weapons..."

Leaning up and using his arms to support himself as he stared at something above Dorian as he continued. "I was a lab rat during it all, my wings ripped off, they grafted new ones into my arms! They manipulated my very blood..." It seemed painful for him to continue along that line of thought as he slumped back into his arm holding him up on the counter.

"Woah.. that sounds incredible! A child of the stars.. I've never heard of that before! Star-gazing is nice.. so have you been to space? If you ever have, what's it like? There are so many interesting people in this tavern!"

The girl smiled until her cheeks ached. As they spoke, she noticed that Ghiar's colour seemed to fade,
"How come you went all yellow for a second, and now you're fading again?"

Glancing back around the tavern, she noticed two people drinking something she didn't recognise.
It seemed to be a kind of alcohol, but seemed to be that one of them disliked it.
She couldn't help but stare at the two men, wondering what they were talking about.
It looked pretty serious, as the man who seemed to dislike it looked very upset as he spoke, and slumped onto the counter, held up by his arm.

Looking back at Ghiar, she added, "Do you think those two are okay?"

Lavender rolled her eyes at the man’s first comment. However, she was decently startled a bit when he spoke in a foreign tongue, one of which she would’ve expected a mage to have mastered, but recovered quickly nonetheless.

‘Some tricks’ seemed to be very useful tricks. An incantation to summon a shadow imp? Gosh. ”What is the limit to what this imp can fetch? If I could I would ask them to get my greatest enemy so I could burn them alive but if they are just limited to drinks I think I’ll pass.” Lavender rose an eyebrow behind the mask as she asked this, and also lifted the hand which was carrying the glass of wine to emphasise her last point.

She would continue scanning around the tavern for interesting characters, noting a being which looked much like a grey spirit of winter and a child that they were talking to. Lavender also attempted to search the crowd for the young darker hair boy she met earlier.

Ghiar seemed comfortable talking to Anya and smiled with her positive reactions to him being a 'star-child'. Being asked about space, he seemed to perk up and get chatty about the question, "I was created among the stars and lived there for years with my creators. They helped and guided me through most of my abilities. It is completely a different living with the stars and planets. I don't think I could explain it without sitting down and renting for hours," he explained, since he truly didn't know how to put that experience in simple words. He would show her if he could.

Glancing down at himself, he thought about it for a few seconds before responding to Anya, "Most of the time I reflect the emotions I am feeling. Colors are associated with emotions, they appear as splotches around my body. I am pretty sure yellow resembles happiness or positive feelings. It fades unless that emotion stays strong," he explained while taking his monochrome skin into consideration. He knew that it was a big tell of how he felt, but he was used to the reactions of others.

Glancing over to the two at the other table, Anya seemed interested or maybe concerned with them. Ghiar shrugged at her question, since he wasn't paying attention to their interactions. He has never met the other two characters, so he had no past experience with them either. Considering his words carefully, he replied "I am not sure. I haven't really been paying attention to them," he stated while glancing back at Anya.

"We can go see if they are okay or not, if you want me to," Ghiar did not mind walking up to others and starting a conversation. He wasn't too shy and if someone was showing concern, he would check it out with limitations.

Staring out around the tavern, she watched Vendril move to a table-nearby and go on to speak to one of the server men. She didn't parse his name or much of their conversation, instead focusing on the table nearby with the grey-blue tinted man and the small child.

She could really go for something more filling than mussels but she didn't think that much fabric would do her poor gut much more good.

She wondered where that little imp had flown off to, as no new wine had been flown to her. She hoped it didn't come to any harm, though she couldn't quite place why. Perhaps treating it as she would her flock, those sheep she cared for immensely. @Dark Light

From her bag, she produced a small round disk of semi-dried clay and a stylus with a curved oval-shaped head. taking care to wipe off the table of any stray liquids with an edge of her chiton she placed it down gingerly. On it was a form cuneiform, which read a language not spoken in much of the world any longer. Once she had read over it once or twice sufficiently she picked it up again and began writing upon it.

To those who could read it:

She made little effort to conceal her new writing or what was on the disk itself. Believing non around her were interest or even knowledgable enough in the ways that would matter to read it.
