“Avatar: The Broken World” is set a hundred years after the events of “Avatar: The Legend of Korra.” But first, let me take you back to the beginning. In the years after Avatar Korra, tensions between Benders and non-Benders kept rising. Conflicts occurred, but non-benders, even Chi-blockers, proved too weak to fight the powerful Benders. Thus, in secret, a virus was developed by the underground anti-Bender movement; A deadly virus which aimed to affect only Benders. When it was released into the public, a wave of death followed. But the scientists had miscalculated. The virus spread not only to Benders, but to non-Benders just as well. People died in droves. Cities quickly became unsafe. Some cities were bombed in hope of exterminating the virus, but that achieved only more suffering, and large areas became inhabitable due to radiation. More and more, people avoided one another, as not to become infected. A few evolved, becoming immune to the virus, but they were few indeed.

A hundred years later, mankind is nearly extinct. Everyone has forgotten the Avatar, and none of the great nations remain. Once great cities now lie in ruins, and the strong prey on the weak like animals. Everyone has to fight for resources. It’s a post-apocalyptic world where you have to struggle to survive. Benders still exist, and are in some communities revered as near god-like beings due to their now rare talents. Some Benders use their power for good, but the greater majority of them exploit it.

---

In this RP, you will play the role of the reincarnation of the Avatar. As the last hope, will you manage to stitch together this broken world? Or will you fail and let it dwindle into non-existence? I will RP your guide in the form of the last member of the Order of the White Lotus.

I think I'm going to have my Avatar be a water bender at the start, but I'm still not sure yet..

Alright. In which nation should we start off? My character is essentially wandering around searching for the Avatar, so I can place him anywhere.

How about the coast of the earth kingdom? Around the area that the fire nation colonized in TLA?

Aight. I was playing with the idea of having one of the villains as this Metal Bender who has proclaimed himself king of the Earth Kingdom. Residing in the ruins of the modern Ba Sing Se, he's rumored to have the greatest single force in the land. His main source of income would be banditry, or tithes he has forced other settlements to pay.

But how does my character discover that your guy is the Avatar? We gotta figure out how they meet and stuff.

I was thinking of having my character on the move with a small group of people, no more than 2 or three others not counting himself. If we're going to have a metal bender as the "King" Or the earth kingdom, I think it would be interesting to have My character and his friends running from his men. Eventually, the men catch up to my character and intend to come back his head head and the heads of his friends. His friends die before him and just before it happens to him, the avatar state activates.

It doesn't have to go exactly like that, but i was thinking that since this seemed a bit darker, I'd make it darker as well.

That sounds about right. Do you feel we need CSs? We could take it as it is and jump right into it, if you feel ready. I think it's more fun to just make things up as we go, really.

I think we could do without a CS. I'm usually one to write up one, but I think it'll be fun to make it up as I go!

The quantity doesn't really matter, I feel, as long as you include what you feel you need to include.

I know that Bato, Sozin, and Kuei already exist in the Avatar World, but two of them are going to die pretty soon, and I don't see it as a big deal.

If you don't mind, could you hold of from killing Nala (The one with the blade) until the other two die? Barrok and her are better friends to each other than with the others, and share the closest relationship, so I'd want for her death to be the last straw before the avatar state activates.

Also, you can control Bato and Sozin a little if you want, just to get a few hits out of them and render them completely useless.
