Personality: Min is overeager, obsessive, and ambitious. She’s a curious spirit who has a true passion and talent for creating artificial mystic life (golems, homunculi, and the like), but sometimes this obsession rules over her life. She supposedly prizes efficiency, and will often try to use magic to find better, or easier ways of doing simple tasks. She has an intrepid, entrepreneurial spirit that pushes her to try to improve things and convince others to do the same. Paradoxically, this can often lead her to spend too much time fixating on improving a single task. And when it comes to things that she isn’t so skilled at, she can become bored quickly unless someone or something manages to focus her attention.
While she tries her best to be friendly towards others, she can be somewhat bossy or pushy, unaware of her somewhat eccentric personality, especially when it comes to exploring the limits of creation magic. Growing up an only child forced her to befriend her own living creations instead of others, resulting in her somewhat awkward social habits. However, she does truly care about others even if she seems rather occupied at times, and will try to help those in need when she breaks away from her work.
History: Min grew up in Linkhaven, a city built upon the crossroads of some of the largest trade routes of the country. Her parents owned a homey, but busy, bed-and-breakfast called the Honey Lavender Inn, that catered to dozens—sometimes hundreds of patrons each day—serving enchanted baked goods and providing charming places to rest. With businesspeople, artisans, and merchants coming in and out, Min learned much about the trades and developed an ambitious (albeit obsessive) mindset around the arts, magic, and business. As an only child, she felt somewhat lonely and often took to bothering patrons.
However, while her parents were skilled magicians, talented at enchantment, potion brewery, and a variety of other magical studies that made running the inn easier, Min struggled with basic magic. She thought she would end up in a non-magical field such as accounting or law, but as she grew older, she found that she had a knack for creating and commanding artificial life. While her potions soured and her prophecies failed, she could imbue clay statues or origami figures with sparks of life—or at least, a mimicry of it. Soon, she was obsessing over her creations, experimenting with homunculi, golems, and elementals. Although she was unskilled in every other form of magic, she truly felt she excelled at the creation of magical artificial life. She began having her own simple, rudimentary golems take over duties at the Honey Lavender Inn, baking goods, doing chores, and serving customers.
With her parents beginning to grow older and more frequently ill, she’s realized she needs to strengthen her magical ability so that she can take over the family business fully. Thankfully, she has been accepted into Gloomminister and seeks to further hone her skill with magical artificial life, as well as develop her lack of practice in other mystic fields.

Skills/Abilities Martial Arts Master: Cass was raised to be a killer, and violence was her chief form of communication. She is well-versed in many forms of martial arts, able to move with precision and surprising force. She is knowledgeable of assassin techniques such as pressure points, killing techniques, and weapon training.
Body reading: While Cass lacks formal skills in investigating of crime scenes, she has the advanced ability to read body language quickly, allowing her to make predictions of what people are thinking, feeling, or planning to do. It isn’t perfect, but it allows her to react incredibly efficiently in combat, taking down enemies before they even strike. This can also enable her to identify disguised people as well, making her useful in reconnaissance.
Stealth/Acrobatics: Cass is flexible and fast, trained in stealth and acrobatics by her assassin father, and toughened by her experiences on the run. She is skilled at getting in and out of places unseen.
Equipment/Weapons
Grappling hook: A handy tool for scaling buildings, swinging from place to place, or escaping difficult spaces
Utility belt: Contains smoke bombs and other small devices used for stealth, recon, or combat
Batarangs: Sharp shuriken-like weapons meant to disarm or cut
Bio Cassandra Cain was raised to be a weapon. As the daughter of mercenary David Cain and a woman who would eventually be known as Lady Shiva, one of the world’s finest martial artists, Cassandra Cain never got the chance to live a peaceful childhood.
David Cain worked with the League of Shadows one of the world’s top assassins, getting paid exorbitant fees to take down political figures on both sides of World War 2; having a daughter was just another tool for advancing his murderous career. Depriving Cass of language, Cain ruthlessly raised her through violence. Movement and combat were her only forms of communication for many years, and she became incredibly apt with reading body language, able to predict people’s next moves.
However, when Cain was out during assassination missions, Cass would begin to see glimpses of the outside world, collecting pieces of language, and reading all that she could. She would mimic the words of street children playing, trying to comprehend papers Cain accidentally left behind. One such collection of info she found was Cain’s files on a peculiar man in America… photos and records of a hero named Batman, an enemy of Cain who protected a city called Gotham. Cass was enthralled but hid these slow, gradual attempts at learning language. Such attempts were squashed by her father when they were discovered and she was reprimanded violently.
At age 8, her father tested her, by having her kill a target in Macau. Thinking it to be a game, she murdered him with a swift blow, but reading his expression, she came to a realization of what she had just done. She escaped from her father and fled, becoming a homeless vagrant.
Wandering alone, she would find herself in many scrapes as a young Asian woman. She would use her violence to take down those who opposed her aimless journeys. However, she would also find kindness. For several years, she managed to live with an elderly couple in China who took pity on her. She struggled heavily with communication, but she soon developed basic language skills with their help. However, her past haunted her, and when the Chinese Communist Revolution began, she used extreme violence to protect the elders, becoming a masked vigilante. However, they discovered this and became afraid of her so she fled once more, scared that she was becoming like her father.
Her mind would always return to the image of the Batman she saw many years ago. She wanted to walk in his footsteps instead of David Cain’s. Through her advanced skills in combat and stealth, she snuck on a ride to America. Arriving in Gotham a couple of years ago, she began to take down criminals and encountered Batman himself. Proving herself in combat discipline and in a true desire to become an upright defender rather than a killing machine, he soon took her under his wing. While she still struggles with language, often coming off as cold or blunt to other members of the Batfamily, Cass would eventually become a valuable part of the team, receiving speech training from Alfred and hired professionals, and learning to work alongside other vigilantes.

"I know I'm not good enough. I never will be. That's no excuse to stop fighting. No matter how much it scares me. No matter how much it hurts."
P O W E R S
Spider-man has abilities akin to a… well, spider. Due to genetic alteration induced by a radioactive spider bite, he can climb walls; has enhanced strength, durability, stamina, speed, and reflexes; has regeneration; and has a spider-sense, a type of precognitive sixth sense that alerts him to danger. His spider-sense alongside his acrobatic reflexes allows him to easily evade most attacks.
He is also incredibly gifted in technology and chemical engineering, having created synthetic web-fluid shooters that allow him a versatile range of attacks, and a way of swinging around the city. Combining this wit with many years of combat experience makes him a valuable ally in battle, able to improvise non-lethal attacks against foes on the fly.
H I S T O R Y
Peter Parker was just your average nerdy teenager, living with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May in New York City, avoiding bullies like Flash Thompson, and just trying to survive the struggles of high school—until the fateful day a radioactive spider bit him at a science expo. After this, he soon found that he had been granted superpowers, mimicking the abilities of a spider. Using his genius intellect, he created synthetic web fluid and web shooters and began to in secret fight crime as the amazing Spider-man. Peter had a naive, but hopeful spirit that believed that he could use his strange powers to help the citizens of New York, and he soon became an internet sensation. This would lead to him getting the attention of none other than the Avengers, and he would fight alongside the big leagues on several occasions, proving himself to be more than just a quippy young vigilante.
Throughout his life, Peter would learn time and time again that wasn’t easy being a hero. Over the years, the threats grew more dangerous. Supervillains like Shocker, Vulture, Mysterio, then the Green Goblin, Doctor Octavius, Electro, and more. Peter found it incredibly difficult to separate the Spider from the Man, as he struggled to balance “real life” with heroism and to protect the ones he loved from evil. He would face loss many times in his life, losing Aunt May, Gwen Stacy, and others. After dealing with Mysterio revealing Peter’s secret identity to the world, Peter had to work with the Sorcerer Supreme to erase his identity from everyone who knew him. His girlfriend MJ and best friend Ned forgot he was Spider-man, and he had to live on his own, alone.
However, he would rise again and again. Although Peter found himself out of friends, out of money, and out of college, he would work twice as hard to improve, getting into a budget college, working at The Daily Bugle, and swinging through life as Spider-man. He befriended people like Harry Osbourne, and the thief, Black Cat. Even when fighting alongside or against superhumans, aliens, robots, or what have you of much greater power, Peter Parker showed incredible enthusiasm and resilience, always trying to encourage those around him. His skill in combat, intellect, and unrelenting willpower would earn him a spot among the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, and help him become an ally of even the X-Men. Yet at the end of the day, Peter would always seem to return to his solo ways as the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man of New York.
Presently, Peter Parker is at a high point in his life. He’s become the mentor for a young teen with similar powers as him, Miles Morales. He’s made a solid living off photography and tech, and he’s beginning to create a startup called Parker Industries, with the goal of using technology to help those in need (including depowering dangerous villains). Peter even has a bit of a situationship with Black Cat, trying to help the thief join the good side.
Yet, how long can peace last? With the new mutant nation emerging and protests for or against mutant-kind popping up throughout New York, Peter is being forced to reckon with the reputation and power he holds within the superhero community. While not a mutant, he has fought alongside them many times, and many people look up to him as an ideal superpowered person. Meanwhile, there are whispers in the criminal underworld of old foes remerging to take back the city and crush Spider-man once and for all. Are these just silly rumors? Or is Spider-man about to face something much more sinister?
S T O R Y A R C S
Cats and Spiders: Peter is mentoring young hero Miles Morales, as well as trying to guide Black Cat towards vigilantism rather than criminality. Peter is learning to be not only a hero who defeats bad guys but someone who truly helps others towards a path of good.
Beyond the Neighborhood: With heroes like Miles Morales and the Defenders emerging to help protect New York City, Spider-man (while still busy), is beginning to realize how key collaboration is and how his abilities could benefit others beyond the Big Apple. Peter may try to create Parker Industries and help that way, while Spider-man may begin to swing out of his usual city, getting more involved in global superhero affairs. Whether it will be trying to spend more time with the Avengers, or trying to help mediate mutant and human relations, we will soon see Peter Parker leaping farther out of his comfort zone.

P O W E R S
The Piper has the mutant ability to psychically command rodents. She can control everything from the common sewer rat to mice, capybaras, chinchillas, and more. However, she tends to be most fond of rats and avoids working with squirrels (to avoid stepping on the schtick of Squirrel Girl). When commanding rodents, she can work on a minute level and make single rodents execute complex tasks or can command entire hordes, albeit with somewhat less accuracy. She uses these abilities to collect information, steal items sneakily, or overwhelm foes in combat with bites and scratches.
She can telepathically communicate with hordes of rodents within a certain range, scrying through their senses, or reading their emotional states. When rodents are under her influence, she can sometimes heighten their intelligence so that they can accomplish more complicated tasks outside of her range.
Working with “vermin” so often, she also has a secondary set of abilities: poison and disease resistance. While Piper can still get sick, it is very rare. Her immune system is incredibly resilient, and accustomed to the rot and sickness that is so prevalent in sewer systems or dumpsters.
While not necessarily combat-trained, she is skilled at stealth and acrobatics, able to leap away into the shadows when danger arises.
H I S T O R Y
Louisa Rodney was born a mutant with the strange ability to command rodents, something her parents discovered about her when they’d often find young Louisa in her crib cuddling with a swarm of rats. After several rodent extermination attempts, Louisa would still always end up with a rat or two secretly sticking around, and soon her parents came to simply ignore this unusual affinity, as long as Louisa kept it under wraps.
She was always a social outcast, a bit too awkward to fit in with popular kids, and a bit too offbeat to even hang out with the nerds, so growing up Louisa turned to her rats. She’d spend much time in the alleys or sewers of New York, practicing her abilities and playing with rats, growing quite fond of them. They would tell her very interesting stories about the city and its secrets. Although they couldn’t talk per se, she could read their recent memories and see what they saw. While her parents began to grow distant, caring more for her “normal” human siblings, Louisa grew reclusive, but stayed under the radar, not attracting too much attention.
However, a supervillain attack on her high school led to Louisa having a mental breakdown, and she uncontrollably unleashed a flood of thousands of rats, bringing the villain down but traumatizing everyone in the vicinity.
After this event, she ran away from home, harassed by anti-mutant advocates and various agencies looking to control or utilize her abilities. She turned to the place that always felt like home… the sewers, the alleys, and life among the rats. To get by, she would often command her rats to steal clothes, food, or other basic needs. However, she would begin to get more extravagant, planning heists to steal electronics, furniture, and valuable goods to deck out her sewer lair. She relied on her rats and indulged in greed to numb the pain of isolation.
As much as she wanted to be left alone, Louisa gained the attention of mutants and other parties interested in the information she can collect with her rats. At first, she avoided such people looking for her, but they soon offered her protection, money, and goods. Hesitantly, she’s begun taking on jobs from the underworld to stalk targets or steal things here or there. She would work with the Morlock mutants from time to time, and various criminals. She didn’t want to be bad… but she had to do what she had to survive. That’s what she told herself.
However, in a chance sighting, she and her rats witnessed a murder, some sort of well-dressed, affluent man killing an innocent woman.
Louisa had done and seen terrible things, but this was worse. The murderer somehow realized that the Piper had seen what he had done, and he killed the rat watching him and Louisa fled. Currently, Louisa has begun to find arrays of dead rats throughout her sewers, and has become much more paranoid. These aren’t normal deaths, but precise killings, poor creatures brutally eviscerated to scare her.
She saw something she wasn’t supposed to see, and now she’s being hunted.
S T O R Y A R C S
Eyes in Every Corner: Louisa has bartered her reconnaissance abilities to those who are willing to seek out The Piper and pay. However, her widespread perception via rat agents has also allowed her to witness things she shouldn’t have. Criminal dealings, supervillain plans, and most recently, a murder. And it seems this murderer wants to make sure no witnesses are left alive.
Rodent Stowaway: Louisa has heard of Krakoa, and part of her yearns to be among other mutants. However, she is deeply afraid of leaving behind her home in the sewers among New York’s rodents. Part of the journey in this roleplay will be reckoning with her mutant side and deciding if she wants to leave her home and stow away to Krakoa.
West McAllister || 23 years old || New York City, USA || Theatrical Virtuoso || Hierophant Green
Gender: Male
Ability: Stand User
Appearance:
West is a lean, pale-skinned man of average height—5’9 to be exact. He has green hair that flows in wavy tufts, purple eyes, a thin nose, and a seemingly ever-present grin upon his face. He has a range of outfits. Sometimes, he wears quite extravagant clothing: frilly uniform-like garbs, formal suits, or flowy outfits in theme with the production he is running at the moment. Other times, he wears minimalist outfits consisting of all black, so he can blend in behind stage. In casual everyday life, however, he can be seen wearing simple preppy clothing, such as sweaters, polos, button-ups, slacks, and leather shoes.
Personality:
West is a force of enthusiasm, a naturally sociable individual who seeks to connect with others and uplift them. Call it naivete, or call it genuine kindheartedness, even in the streets of the Big Apple, West manages to move forward through each with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He’s the type of person who enjoys making friends with strangers and forming deep bonds with others, rather than simply networking for material or social advancement. Besides being open and friendly, West can be dramatic and theatrical, sometimes obnoxiously so, cracking jokes, humming, and just moving through life with a bit too much pep in his step.
However, just because he’s happy-go-lucky most of the time, doesn’t mean he’s a dolt. While rarely too selfish, he has a handle on his charisma and does know how to use his suave or leadership skills to his advantage when he needs to. He’s great at reading people’s body language and emotions, with excellent observational habits. He’s well-organized, sometimes even to a fault, becoming somewhat of a control freak. Plus, when those he cares about are hurt or threatened, he can be put into a furious rage. He has a deep love for the innocents and for those he trusts and will sacrifice himself to protect others or the common good.
Furthermore, despite his dramatic, personable demeanor, he has incredible stage fright. Although he can talk to people with ease, and navigates the theater with complete confidence, as soon as he tries to take on a character and act in front of an audience, he completely and utterly breaks down, his fight-or-flight instincts kicking in, the result of some sort of irrational, psychological trauma of some sort.
Backstory:
West always wanted to perform onstage, dreaming of becoming a broadway actor performing in the greatest city in the world. He grew up in a strict commune, raised by cult-like religious fanatics, and never got the chance to try acting. Yet he would sneak away at night to catch shows in a nearby community theater, enthralled by the stage. As soon as he was old enough to fend for himself, he ran away from home and headed for Broadway, hoping to become a starving actor, an artiste amongst others more supportive. And after months of working odd jobs, networking, and trying to get a shot in a play, he made it.
However, in this first production, he quickly found that he had debilitating stage fright. He floundered on stage, he stuttered his lines, and no matter how convincing or passionate his deliveries were alone, something just didn’t click once the audiences began to perceive him in character.
At first, he was devastated. But with nowhere left to go, he devoted all of his energy into mastering every other facet of theater, working his way through backstage as a man of many hats—lights, sound, props, costumes, dance, and even stage-combat skills. This is when he discovered that he had a Stand called Hierophant Green. He took this long-range manipulator as a blessing, quickly using it as a one-man crew. With Hierophant Green’s countless tendrils, he could control the stage, adjusting layouts or sound dials from a distance. In everything but being actually in the spotlight, he sought to be perfect. If he couldn’t be a star, he would do his best to make others shine brighter than he ever could, and people began to notice his skill.
Eventually, he found his way to become one of the youngest directors on Broadway. He was a well-liked, versatile young talent in the business, and this was his big shot at making history. But on opening night, the two leads were found dead, killed in the final act. After that, West was shaken, and for some reason, a rumor was going around that it was all his fault—some sick plan to gain more attention. The show was shut down, and his reputation was ruined.
While most people didn’t believe the rumors, West knew things wouldn’t be the same. Now, he is staging a much smaller production off-broadway in NYC. He still is sociable and friendly to all, but there is a part of him that mourns those actors and what his production could have been. West smiles, but deep down, he knows he cannot rest until he finds that killer.

Range: A
Speed: B
Durability: B
Precision: C
Development Potential: D

Hierophant Green can also unleash a storm of energy in the form of emerald-like projections, in an attack known as “Emerald Splash”.
