The idea is that there are three timelines a player can live in, going between them if need be. Each timeline would be in a different climate. The first timeline would be Wintoro, a snowy and harsh climate based timeline. The second would be Autoro, a fall/spring-like climate. The final timeline would be Santoro, a summer-based timeline. But these timelines can merge and be crossed by GMs, and players can go between timelines with GM permission.

There wouldn't be many GM posts, and it would be mostly run by the players. The only times the GM would post would be to open a rift, merge/unmerge timelines, etc.

Rifts would lead to the distruction, or perhaps- if you're lucky- only a natural disaster, related to the merged timelines. Of course, these three main timelines can occasionally grow branches also created by the GM before or after opening a rift. Rifts close at random, and can sometimes trap players.

Any advice/ideas for this are welcome, as it's only an idea.

I read this and it actually is a really amazing idea! Perhaps, with the GM thing, you could have it so players would have to PM the given GM and pick a number between 1 and, say, 10. The GM would pick a number, and tell the co-GM if there is one, and any players close to the number get some form of reward, the players far from the number get a disaster or something they have to fight. And the timeline that has the most players with close/far numbers gets a reward/punishment. Just thoughts.

Soul didn't think of that! That's a really good idea! Would you mind if Soul incorporated that, actually?

This is interesting. The climate timelines are still in the same place [say earth] or so right? A thought that came to mind when you said choice of good or destruction; using this to an advantage of exposure. When things are melted vs melting. If someone had to hide something for future self or other, they go and place it somewhere that would be completely covered in Wintoro. Only they would know it was there. Works in reverse too of course.

This was just a thought that came to mind when I read that like I said. Very cool so far

Yes, it would be Earth in oversight.

As for your idea, it's good, though Soul is honestly a bit confused by it at the same time. So what you're saying, correct if Soul's wrong, is that somebody could hide something in the Wintoro timeline, then change timelines and find it in the same place?

Yes that's what I was wondering. When I read your description I wondered this because I'm very nature focused. So It made me wonder if someone hid something in spring/Auturo under this one tree at the bottom of this one mountain, that it would still be present but would be frozen over in Wintero. In any direction with that really; if things would be exposed on some timelines and not others? Like how ice & snow covers so much, what would be exposed in the Auturo/Santuro. I'm sorry if that's all over the place

It's not all over the place. Soul gets what you mean now.

In theory, the timelines wouldn't overlap unless a rift was opened, and the effects could be devastating. To use your example, something put under a tree at the base of a mountain in Autoro may not be there in Wintoro as the tree would be dead, and most likely decayed. Keeping with the mountain thing, Santoro is void of mountains due to the harsh winds/climate of the Santoro timeline. Continuing with this, there's no way to control which timeline you go between except for a rift.

Rifts are the only real way to cross between timelines in a controlled, but catastrophic, manner. With this, Soul's point is: no,that would most likely not be possible unless in the case of a GM-opened Rift.

Idea relating to the rifts:

What if there were rifts that were opened(by GM ofc) that technically connected all three? Is that possible? Also, rifts that- instead of being bad- would help timelines. By this I mean rifts that, say if a non-catastrophic rift opened in Wintoro and Santoro, would allow Santoro to get water and other resources and vice versa across all three.

Yes, the tri-Rift would be possible, however extremely rare. As for helping timelines, Soul never thought of that. That perhaps would be a useful addition, yes. Though the idea with Rifts is to pose a challenge to players. That also, Soul noticed, poses a challenge to your previous idea which he added. They're both great ideas- don't get him wrong- but they do conflict. However, if you could perhaps PM Soul, we could work them together.

Ah. Actually, that makes sense. I'll shoot you a PM. I like where this could go xD.

Unrelated thought but perhaps you should start this. It'd be an amazing rp. No pressure lol
