Alexander tilted his head to finally look at her, a skeptical expression on his face. "If you say so," He said. This time, his voice was a bit kinder than it had been, but it wasn't really forced kindness. He startled as a glob of... something... splattered onto the table in front of him. He glanced around and immediately saw where it had come from. It was Peeves, the poltergeist Charles had spoken of.
"Benny, Benny! We'll have so much funny!" The 'ghost' laughed. Alexander just glared.
"Great. Already on a bloody ghost's radar," He muttered under his breath.
"What was that, little boy?" Peeves laughed hysterically.
"Nothing you've not heard, you bloody ghost," Alexander replied.
"If you say so," The poltergeist laughed before floating away, still laughing. Alexander glared after the annoyance.
"First god-forsaken day and it's already messed up because I'm a Bennett. Why doesn't he harass Charles instead?" He muttered bitterly, "Ugh. What even is this stuff?" He looked at the glob that had spattered on the table, disgusted. "Actually, I take that back. I don't want to know," He noted as a foul odor began to rise from the stuff.
