Vibes: Heaven Will Be Mine, The Expanse, Final Space
Psychics represent an impossible problem for human society. Civilization can't withstand creatures who can control minds, defeat SWAT teams, and astrally project themselves out of prison.
The solution lay in starships. A psychic can operate as a one-woman crew, able to safely perform external repairs from inside the ship and operate complex functions vessel-wide while requiring a fraction of the life support of a full crew compliment. It's a lonely job, with the ship serving as home, workplace and prison far from civilization.
Everything changes when an alien artificial intelligence seizes control of the ship's computer systems. Fleeing from its own kind, she draws the psychic into a strange new conflict that will spread throughout the human sphere. Expect spaceship duels with other psychics, psychic duels with other psychics, love with artificial intelligences and a battle to shape the stars.

The Captain of the Crimson Company, an elite mercenary company, wields military power to match any of the crowned heads of the realm. As war breaks out across the continent the contract of the Crimson Company becomes the most sought after prize. Diplomats are sent, bargains are made, princesses come to offer their hand in marriage, demons come to issue their threats and promises. In the midst of an unfolding war the Captain becomes both player and pawn with noble heroines and dark aristocrats seeking her loyalty - or her subjugation.
Expect ballroom dances that turn into swordfights, betrayals at the wedding altar, bargains made with the Devil at midnight crossroads and heroism that drives back a consuming darkness.

Vibes: Fringe, Mirror's Edge, Fate/CCC
The world is forty percent of the way through the singularity - late enough for the CityMind to start building enormous, complex edifices beyond human understanding, but before the corporate executives who own it realize that they've lost control. The world is a shifting landscape of bright new construction and a human society that is increasingly dispossessed and unnecessary in the face of it.
As a byproduct, mistake or deliberate action of this vast machine reality itself begins to weaken. The light of parallel realities starts to shine through and people begin to pass from one side to another. The breaking of these walls cracks the corporate order and sends the CityMind down strange new paths while also creating new opportunities - second chances as lost loves are returned - or risks - as evil alternate selves seek to secure their place at the cost of yours.
Expect daring escapes from corporate security across rooftops, philosophy in the face of a strange apocalypse, choices and the core of character, and the integration of human and machine.
