Name - Alphaeus Vortigern
Age - 32
Gender - Male
Class - 6; Intelligence Operative
Appearance -
Standing just under 6', Alphaeus's head is topped with shoulder-length jet-black hair that has been slicked back. His pale, clean shaven face features high cheekbones and a pointed nose; his chin terminates at a more rounded end. Although looking well worn, with noticeably dark bags under his brown eyes, Alphaeus makes every attempt to be as clean as possible, wearing thin leather gloves consistently. Donning whatever is best for the occasion, his standard mode of business dress usually defaults to charcoal colored slacks held up by a dull black leather belt, and a deep crimson collared shirt with a jacket matching his pants over top. Footwear is almost always black leather steel-toed, ankle high work boots.
Regardless of which clothes he wears, he always has a pocket knife clipped inside the front right pocket of his pants, while a notebook and pen are kept in either his interior jacket pocket, or wherever else he can carry it. Clipped to his belt is a customized cell phone, made to mimic a large touch-screen model. Depending on the current mission, Alphaeus may or may not carry his Browning Hi-Power pistol chambered for 9mm holstered on his right hip. Being on the lean side, Alphaeus doesn't like bulking up with carrying extra gear, and so prefers to handle most of his job with as few tools as possible.
Information -
Alphaeus was born and raised in Canada, raised by his adoptive godparents after his biological parents' sudden disappearance, which lead to Alphaeus's abandonment at age twelve. Brought up in an environment which encouraged conformity, Alphaeus rebelled against the rigid mentality of blind acceptance and unity, instead seeking to understand all he could, in order to choose for himself. Meanwhile, his godparents helpfully encouraged from a young age to follow his talents; Alphaeus dreamed of becoming part of the RCMP, after his grandfather.
After graduation of high-school, Alphaeus traveled the world, working however and wherever he could in order to fund his journey. Passing through much of Africa, Europe and Asia, Alphaeus learned many things out of necessity, including improvised combat, wilderness survival, minor surgery, and became able to translate multiple languages on a basic level. Once he had returned from his worldwide trip, Alphaeus applied directly to the RCMP, who already knew of him due to his grandfather being a long-standing officer. Once Alphaeus was reviewed, he was made an officer and put into action almost immediately.
There had been a string of murders which had spread across the Canadian / American border, reaching down into the northern states. Alphaeus was assigned to a task force paired with the FBI, whose job was to apprehend the killer. Although seemingly targeted at random, the victims died in a very particular way; crushing the eye sockets externally, then strangulated. After two years of tracking with nearly no result, Alphaeus found a pattern and was able to predict where the next victims would turn up. Thus the team set up base in a small mountain town in Arkansas. Sure enough, Alphaeus managed to ambush the killer- but there turned out to be two. The second one managed to shoot and kill the majority of Alphaeus' team, forcing him to give chase alone. Cornering the two killers in a nearby forest with a hostage they took, Alphaeus recognized the killers as his biological parents. After a brief struggle, during which Alphaeus tried to reason with his parents, Alphaeus shot and killed both of them to prevent the death of the hostage.
Months later after his psyche evaluation was completed, Alphaeus found evidence that suggested his parents were subjected to a series of mind altering drugs intended for soldiers on the orders of corrupt, higher up RCMP members, and that Alphaeus was purposefully made part of the task force in order to be killed off, along with his parents. After beating and interrogating a superior officer in on the plan, Alphaeus confirmed his beliefs, and set about murdering the corrupt officers, both still operating in the RCMP and retired. Those who's involvement was questionable, or those who Alphaeus could not convince himself of their guilt, he let live. The others were quietly done away with, no one knowing how or why they disappeared.
Soon after the final officer was dispatched, the Foundation sent a man to Alphaeus, inviting him to work as an Intelligence Operative. The Foundation had several spies within both the FBI and the RCMP, as well as standard operatives, one of which alerted the Foundation of Alphaeus's situation. Reasoning that the Canadian government wouldn't forgive a vigilante RCMP officer operating so far outside his duties, Alphaeus took up the man on his offer. After wiping himself away from any record of having been an RCMP officer, he took his leave in order to serve the Foundation.
All of this information has become classified, redacted and removed to ensure Alphaeus' use as an IO remains unhindered. Six long years have passed, during which time many executions have been preformed, hundreds of secrets protected, information leaks contained. There remains no connection between Alphaeus and his homeland. Instead, only the desire to do what must be done as efficiently as possible, whatever that may mean.
