Hi everyone! Like most people making introduction posts, I'm new to the site - nice to meet you! I'm Zariah. I use she/her pronouns, am fifteen years old, and, like most of you, enjoy roleplaying! I first started roleplaying during the pandemic, specifically virtual school. I was... rather bored in many of my classes, so I took advantage of my extra computer time to pop onto various discussion forums and roleplay there. (Yes, I know I should have been focusing on school-) The first ever place I roleplayed was on a discussion forum for a video game I played, that's shut down now. After being on there for several-ish months, I took a long break and returned a year later. Since then, I've been on various discussion forums, roleplaying on and off depending on how busy my life is. My skills have definitely improved, espeically since I've gotten more into writing over the past year or so.
Honestly, I like to roleplay lots of things! My favorite genre is fantasy, with sci-fi coming up second. I don't really enjoy romance roleplays (though I'm fine with romance as a sub-plot), though. Part of being aroace, I guess. The majority of the roleplays I've done have been group roleplays, so I've got some experience with those. Right now, I'm hoping to test out something new and try one-on-one roleplays, so that I can get more into the plot and characters. My ideal roleplay is one with fairly long, detailed response (though I'm not amazing at these yet), where I & whoever I'm roleplaying with can get very in-depth with characters, story, and lore. I haven't done many roleplays like that yet, mainly very fast-paced ones with quick responses, but I'm looking to try something new!
Of course, my entire life is not made up of roleplaying. (Though it would be cool, to live in a world where everything is a roleplay...) As I mentioned earlier, I enjoy writing! Normally, I write fanfiction and fantasy. I haven't gotten around to actually finishing a story yet, but I'll get there one day! In addition, I'm a very avid reader. My favorite genre is fantasy, and really anything involving dragons. I'm obsessed with dragons. One of my favorite authors is Brandon Sanderson - his books are amazing.
Besides literature-based things, I've been doing debate since fifth grade, and I absolutely love it! The style I do right now is public forum debate, and it's great. I also enjoy math - and yes, I'm aware that's weird. Logic puzzles are also very enjoyable, and I like anything involving patterns. They speak to my mind. Lastly, I play flute and I'm starting viola in the fall.
