In the heart of Elysium, the air bristled with anticipation as the annual fair cast its spell over the city. Streets once barren now heaved with life, a vibrant pack of souls converging from far-flung corners, beckoned by the siren call of revelry. Like shimmering fish in a coral reef, they darted through the labyrinthine alleys, their fervor ebbing and flowing with the tides of excitement. Laughter and merry chatter spilled from every threshold, intermingling with the aromas of sizzling delicacies and the strains of lively music drifting on the breeze. The narrow thoroughfares teemed with a sea of colors, a living kaleidoscope of fluttering fabrics, and radiant smiles. Amidst the pulsating crowd, silhouettes merged and melded, absorbed by the pulsating pulse of the city. Elysium, normally tranquil and serene, now throbbed with the heartbeat of joy, its ancient stone facades bearing witness to the fleeting unity of its inhabitants, all seeking excitement in this ephemeral sanctuary.

In the midst of the annual fair, an enigmatic veil descended upon the city, subtly altering the flow of time itself. Unbeknownst to the revelers, the hours melted and stretched like ethereal taffy, their passage indiscernible amidst the whirlwind of merriment. It was a delicate shift, invisible to the naked eye but profound in its implications. Time, that elusive specter, was entwined within the very fabric of the city during these days, distorting reality in whispers too faint to be heard. The legends of the Time Prism, once etched in the annals of forgotten lore, had faded into mere echoes. Buried beneath layers of oblivion. And so, the people, blissfully ignorant, moved through their routines, untroubled by the ever-changing currents of existence that danced around them. The Time Gate, veiled in the cloak of its own enigma, stood as an inconspicuous sentinel, guarding secrets lost to the ages.

A heavy burden settled upon the shoulders of the Tabaxi Witch, her eyes glinting with ancient wisdom as she carefully unfurled the message bestowed upon her by her God. The delicate dance of the tarot cards revealed her path, illuminating the intricate dance of fate. With unwavering resolve, she set forth, weaving through the bustling fair with a silent purpose. The air crackled with anticipation, the scent of incense mingling with the whispers of the crowd. Her tarot tent stood proud, a shelter of mystic allure, beckoning those who held the key to her destiny. And so, she waited, casting her gaze upon the eager faces that passed by, her eyes searching for the telltale spark of the Fools, the harbingers of profound transformation. In the depths of her soul, she knew that the arrival of these enigmatic figures would ignite the gears of her intricate plan, setting in motion a sequence of events with consequences that surpassed the realm of mortal understanding.

Their tale lingered within the shadowy realm of the unknown, waiting to be inked upon the pages of history. Like an ethereal whisper carried by the wind, their destinies remained shrouded, yearning to be unraveled in the paths of time. The weight of anticipation hung heavy in the air, a silent symphony of untold possibilities. Their paths, converging yet unformed, wove a delicate dance of fate, as if the universe itself held its breath, eager to witness the unveiling of their intertwined existence. In the hushed corners of distant tomorrows, their story, pregnant with significance, awaited its moment to emerge, casting ripples that would forever alter the course of the city.

The Prism basked in its fractured existence, yearning to mend the shattered pieces of its fragmented past. It had known the heights of royalty, the shadows of thievery, and the noble virtues of a knight, each aspect of its multifaceted identity etched with whispers of stories untold. Yet, in its splintered state, its purpose remained unfulfilled, its power dulled by the chaos it sought to rectify. A silent plea echoed through its crystalline enclosures, urging the disparate shards to unite once more, to weave its essence together, and thus, to restore the equilibrium so sorely needed. For only in wholeness could the Prism hope to quell the rising tide of discord, to bring order to the turmoil that threatened to consume the people it had once presided over.

The smells of freshly baked goods and the merriment of voices were what drew Amaris' attention away from her journal. She looked up from the sketch of an Alkanet root and put her charcoal stick and journal back into her pack. She slid the thick leather braids of the blue velvet-lined leather pack over her shoulders. Amaris adjusted her red hooded cloak to smooth out the wrinkles that her pack's straps caused. Her cloak helped her hide her immediate features as she wove in between people, following the warm scent of freshly baked cinnamon bread.

Not that Mari was hiding from anyone in particular, no, she was avoiding the curious gazes of her fair skin, bright blue eyes, and snow-white hair that clearly labeled her as a Snowden descendant. The only oddity was her slightly pointed ears that gave away that she was half an elf. Amaris didn't need her stepmother to be informed of her presence in Elysium. No doubt the shrewd woman would send people out to finish the job that was failed years before. Mari had traveled around a bit as a mercenary after she ran from her father's household. She found herself collectively held up in her birth mother's apothecary once she learned of its location. The lost soul learned everything she could about herbs and their various uses from her mother's journals.

Amaris rounded a corner of the street and smiled as she saw the food stall that was selling the spiced bread for the festival. Her mouth began to water at the thought of the sweet baked dough hitting her tastebuds. She began to make her way towards the baker when her gaze caught the sight of Tabaxi woman that was looking at her...almost knowingly. It unsettled Mari and distracted her enough to run into someone tall.

"Oof!" came from her mouth as she gazed up and gulped softly. She looked up at the white-hair, gray-eyed Drow man. "I am sorry, please excuse my clumsiness," Amaris apologized as she gave a slight bow, hoping the stranger would forgive her.

Zephyr meandered through the bustling fairgrounds, his heart light with contentment. It had been nearly a year since he had left behind the confines of his old life and found solace in the enchanting embrace of Elysium. The city had gradually woven its intricate tapestry into the very fabric of his being, and he now moved through its vibrant streets with a familiarity that belied his newcomer status. As he strolled amidst the jovial crowds, the savory scent of delicacies wafted through the air, casting an irresistible spell upon his senses. The tantalizing aroma seeped into his nostrils, evoking a symphony of flavors that danced upon his tongue. A soft smile curled at the corners of his lips, a testament to the joy that enveloped him. In that moment, the euphoria of the fairgrounds painted his face with the glow of genuine happiness, a radiant expression of the bliss he had discovered in this newfound haven.

His gaze fixated upon a savory masterpiece that hung tantalizingly from a stick, its name shrouded in mystery. The sight of it beckoned him with its alluring appearance and the aromatic tendrils that caressed his senses. As he approached the vendor, his inability to articulate his desires through speech weighed heavily upon him. The absence of his tongue, a relic from his childhood in the enigmatic Shadewood Clan, had transformed his communication into a delicate dance of gestures and half-formed sounds. In this vast city, where words held sway, he felt the weight of isolation pressing upon him. Memories of his clan stirred within him, a chorus of shared understanding born from their intricate gestures, the resonance of their souls, and the ethereal chants that echoed through the verdant forests.

As he ambled through the vibrant fair, savoring the meat on the stick, his eyes wandered over the kaleidoscope of faces. The city's racial diversity struck him profoundly, for in the Shadewood Clan, his kin were solely Drows and their loyal animal companions. Azure, his black and blue frog perched atop his head, stood as a testament to that insular world. His gaze caught on a booth adorned with arcane trinkets, and as he continued, a chance encounter unfolded. An elven girl, her silvery hair akin to his own, accidentally collided with him. Her voice was apologetic, but he remained silent, communicating solely through his hands—a reassuring gesture and a nod of acceptance.

Osiris Pendragon

The activities of the fair were in full effect. The aroma of freshly baked pastries getting caught on the breezes "Fresh buns. Get yourself a nice, hot cinnamon bun." A baker shouted to the people walking past. A few people bought themselves a bun. In the queue was a young man named Osiris Pendragon. The baker handed him a cinnamon roll, with a smile. In return for the tasty food, Osiris gave the baker enough money to pay for it. "Thank you." he says. "Enjoy your roll and come again." The baker said with a smile. Osiris weaved his way through the crowd, he tore a piece of the cinnamon roll to eat. It was tasty, really tasty. He was almost tempted to go back for a second one, but refrained from doing so.

While walking, finishing his roll. He rubbed his hands to get the cinnamon and powdered sugar off his hands. He went past a series of dancers and performers who seem to be part of this festive event. They were graceful, happy and pleasant. Giving Osiris little smiles as well as a flirtatious wave. Around him a fine of nobles, commoners and performers blended together. To him this was the best time to have fun and mingle.

Stepping out of the crowd for a moment to sit for a moment. He looks on at the people going by, listening to the sounds, looking at the sights. All the banners and colourful wonders here. Everyone was happy and smiling. He broke into a smile himself, remembering the times that his family went to these fairs all the time when he was a small boy. I haven't seen my family in so long. Perhaps I should visit them one time. To surprise them. Not wanting to feel too sad he jumped back to his feet again, wanting to explore more of what this fair had to offer.
