The Magpie Shell is a modified version of the Murkumo-designed SWIFT III frame, which Magpie's pilot bought and altered. Murakumo designed the SWIFT III Frame to be a piloted version of their AI-controlled Scout-Shell, to be sold to the WOLFHOUND LLC pilots and anyone with the funding. Magpie's pilot has taken the frame and made some critical modifications, so it'd be the ideal sniper platform, as its pilot cannot engage in up-front fights: Shell or no Shell. The point of the Magpie frame is not to engage with targets directly but instead, hover around, take out key targets, and vanish without a trace. It's incredibly lightweight, so it is fast as hell, but it cannot take a punch, so the preferred method of damage mitigation would be to dodge attacks. In the event of an up-front confrontation, the Magpie is equipped with a pistol in her hip.

► BLACK HAWK 8900 Sniper Rifle || Nicknamed the Magpie's Gaze, Grand Union's design. The primary weapon of the Magpie-Frame, Magpie's Gaze is a sniper rifle optimized for extreme long-range engagements. It has specialized barrel and targeting systems that ensure pinpoint accuracy, and it is chambered for high-velocity, armor-piercing ammunition, capable of penetrating even the most formidable enemy defenses. This makes it perfect for neutralizing heavily armored targets or vehicles. Magpie's Gaze incorporates advanced sound and muzzle flash suppression technology, allowing the Shell to take shots without giving away its position easily. The rifle is built to withstand the rigors of combat and the harsh environments in New Zealand. However, it has one capacity before it needs to be reloaded.

► THE 91 TENGU || Nicknamed The Talon Pistol, Murakumo Robotics Design. Magpie's Talon Pistol is a sleek and deadly pistol designed for close to medium-range combat that is stored in the Shell's hip. It's semi-automatic, compact, lightweight, and has the same sound and muzzle flash suppression technology. Magpie's Talon serves as a backup weapon for Magpie in situations where the Gaze is not ideal—stored in a special hip compartment.

► The MLX-9000 ROYALE || Nicknamed the The Claw, a Grand Union design. Placed on both of Magpie's shoulder units is the Claw, which boasts multiple modular missile pods, each housing a variety of missile types, including high-explosive, anti-armor, anti-aircraft, and precision-guided munitions. The Claw can fire missiles at extremely long ranges, making it ideal for engaging targets beyond the line of sight. It can strike deep into enemy territory, giving the Magpie a significant tactical advantage. However, it cannot properly engage targets short of the longest range due to how it works.

► Avian Precision Targeting System || A Grand Union design. The Magpie's firing control system is a state-of-the-art technology that boosts this Shell with unparalleled precision, adaptability, and lethality. This advanced system is the heart of the Magpie's weapon suite, enabling it to engage distant targets with pinpoint accuracy while seamlessly integrating with its other combat systems. The firing control system has a sophisticated network of sensors, including radar, lidar, thermal imaging, and infrared detectors. This extensive sensor suite provides comprehensive situational awareness, allowing the Magpie to identify and track targets in various environmental conditions. The system offers a variety of engagement modes, including manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic options.

The Patriot is a 12.5 meter tall medium-class shell with light speed. It's painted in a bright red sheen. Some question the logic behind painting a mech a bright, visible color, but it only perfectly intertwines with the actual purpose the mech is meant to serve. The frame is long and thin, keeping the extremities a fair distance from the mech's center of mass. It's weapon rack hangs on the back. The shell is equipped with boosters capable of launching the shell upwards and into the air, allowing it to lunge directly at enemies from above.

The Patriot is designed for close-quarters combat, with both built-in claws that can tear apart rival mechs as well as a small array of superheating melee weapons that can cut apart low-class unarmored mechs like a stick of butter. Additionally the mech also wields a high-powered shotgun for middle-ranged opponents, and an additional sidearm in the case a target is out of physical reach.

The downside of the Patriot is both it's light size and lack of ranged options. Despite being to easily cut through most classes of armor, the patriot itself has little if any armor, instead relying on it's speed and mobility to close in on a target and incapacitate them, then immediately flee before any allies target them. It also lacks any powerful long-ranged options, making it useless against artillery.

Anti-Armor Claws - Claws designed to easily cut into most grades of armor plates, hook past it, and let the plate be torn off by pulling back suddenly, allowing the shell to practically shred anything in close-quarters combat. Even if the Patriot runs out of ammo or has it's other weapons destroyed, it can still tear most enemies to ribbons if it gets the chance.

Blade of Freedom - A superheated longsword that is able to easily cut through most frames like a knife through butter. The cost of it's effectiveness is that after being drawn, within seconds it must be resheathed into the weapon rack in order to maintain it's superheating, making it only ideal for quick finishing assassinations rather than prolonged close-quarters-combat.

Old Faithful - A longspear with an American flag on the end, wielded as Patriot's primary close-quarters weapon. While it isn't superheated like the blade and therefore cannot easily pierce armor, it's reach makes it ideal at closing in on targets and fighting defensively.

The Ugly - A sidearm designed for middle-range combat. A massive revolver with six powerful shells, any one capable of knocking off a plate of armor with a single shot. It lacks ammunition, making it unideal for prolonged shootouts.

The Frontier - A one-handed shotgun designed for close-ranged combat. While it has more ammunition in reserve than the pistol, it possesses much less range, making it only ideal for close-combat.

Ossifrage-80's frame stands eleven-meters tall, close to minimum for a standard operable shell. It is a slim, light shell with little ancillary armor to speak of. This allows the shell to maneuver and operate at very high paces - sacrificing safety for sharper work. This, combined with its armaments and devices, enable it to be a supportive menace on the battlefield.

One would think a device of such speed and maneuverability would be relegated to a weapon of direct attack - but the Ossifrage instead takes on a disruptive role. Its directional shields allow it to intercept attacks or maneuver with more safety than would be usual for such an unarmored machine. Additionally, its mid-field repair apparatus can prove to be a huge boon to shells that are just-barely rendered inoperable in the field of battle.

Though, one would be mistaken to underestimate the shell's offensive capabilities, too. Equipped with the EMA, Ossifrage is a shell that can close a distance, attack, and retreat much faster than one would expect, even for a shell as light as it is. This can be used to devastating effect with the shotgun-esque weapon with which the Ossifrage is equipped - something which, while it has little penetration, as mainly a weapon used to maim operative pieces of shells and render them unable to counter-attack.

G1 Cranegun - The Cranegun is a rather light-weight weapon when compared to the majority of shell weaponry. It is visually and operationally reminiscent of a double-barrel scattergun. The weapon fires a semi-tight, if slightly unpredictable, spray of superheated plasma, which is rather effective at burning through shells. The weapon has very poor penetration when it comes to piercing armor, so much so that even light armor is a hurdle, but is designed to fire in a wide-enough cone that it is likely that the spray will hit an unarmored location - which it is very effective at eating through.

This weapon is designed for super-light shells that cant sacrifice much weight, but still need to retain combat effectiveness -- in return, a weapon such as this isn't great at taking down shells head-on. Instead, it is used to maim an opposing shell's joints, hands, or other facilities so as to disable use. It is also a great weapon for disabling external devices such as antennas, anti-radar paints, exposed weapons, etc.

E.M.A. - The E.M.A. (Explosive Movement Array) is one of the several devices the Ossifrage uses to great effect in combat. The purpose of the system is simple. Through an array of ports situated all over the Ossifrage, it is able to consume bursts of fuel - from a subsidiary fuel-supply - to engage thrusters that enable explosive, super-quick movements for very short periods. This system alone allows the Ossifrage to wield the most speed on the battlefield at any one time - but one must manage their fuel carefully.

Directional deflectors - An array of directional shields which can be engaged through the Ossifrage's hands or feet. These deflectors appear as a barely-visible, rippling, bluish screen of energy roughly three-meters-by-three-meters, making them rather small - meaning the operator has to be very accurate. Normally, the diminutive nature of such a shield would render them ineffective against explosive weaponry, but the shields in question possess a specially disruptive function which disrupts impact-detection and allows the wielder to deflect such weapons, should the pilot possess enough efficacy.

M.R.A. - The M.R.A. (Mid-field Repair Apparatus) is a boon upon any squad in which it is deployed. This device, which is transported in a backpack-esque method on the rear of the Ossifrage, is a removable rig that can be placed on a damaged shell to perform on-site repairs. The reparative capabilities of the apparatus are only just-sufficient, generally due to the lightweight nature of the device's fuel supply, and can extend only to mechanical and electrical repairs -- any digital restoration is up to the shell and the pilot themselves. Despite this, these devices have proven many-a-time to be potentially life-saving, as they can turn a barely-inoperable shell into one that can safely evac, or support its comrades further. Notably, this device is powered by its own connected fuel supply, or can be connected to an adjacent shell to siphon fuel from. One must be mindful, as mending too much damage can drain the device of its personal supply if not managed well.

High-power magnet array - The Ossifrage possesses a simple array of powerful magnetic tools, with key points situated on various locations across its frame. These magnets are nothing too powerful, generally used to pull or push objects or fallen allies when moving them by-hand would otherwise be inconvenient or impossible. The magnets can also be used in short bursts with more power, which could be used to feasibly stumble a medium-class shell if used wisely. When used in these short bursts, their range exceeds no more than roughly ten meters.

Miscellaneous tools - The Ossifrage is otherwise equipped with a wide array of supportive tools and apparatuses - as long as they're lightweight, the Ossifrage probably has it. Blowtorches, chaff and flares, various minute reparative instruments, etc.

CROW III is the most recent of its pilot's shell builds, standing tall with gray-black paint and long, reverse-jointed legs designed to reach any position it might need to shoot from. Most of its exterior and weapons are built from sturdy Grand Union parts designed for low energy drain while still being able to take hits and dish them out, but its arms are MURAKUMO units tuned for precision shooting, and its head outfitted with a back up radar and sensors designed to be able to target all forms of opposition. It’s built and equipped primarily for long-range combat and support, with sniping weapons supplemented by an impressive sensor array and onboard tactical AI known as the YOMI system. While other Shells wreak havoc on the front lines, it watches over them, picking off anything that might get in the way. Beyond that, it’s designed to take a few hits with its armor plating and get the hell out of dodge with its overboost unit, if need be. By plugging into its sensor suite, the pilot can drastically improve their accuracy and response abilities, even against faster targets. A laser blade sits mounted on the left arm for close encounters, with a handgun in the emergency bay.

Its main weaknesses lie in the fact that it’s built for ranged support, not as a unit meant to hold itself in frontline battle. It can’t put out enough bullets fast enough to deal with an excessive number of opponents or overwhelm one that can outmaneuver it once it gets in close. The YOMI system can also only be neurally interfaced with for a short time due to its extreme load on both the Shell’s energy supply and the pilot’s own brain, and depends on its own perception to predict events and the Shell’s own physical capabilities to act on them. Anything that manages to sneak past its sensors can throw off its benefits, and electronic countermeasures practically blind it.

RIGHT HAND: GU-95 DMR: A mech-sized Designated Marksman’s Rifle. Sits in between a typical rifle and a dedicated sniper rifle in terms of range, firepower, and rate of fire. As CROW III’s main weapon, it’s intended to be the go-to for picking off smaller targets from longer distances while still being able to function up close in a pinch.

RIGHT SHOULDER: GU-2014 MONROE: A massive, shoulder-mounted sniper cannon. Does a lot of damage over long range, but requires CROW-III to kneel to brace against the recoil. Used as a trump card to deliver the crucial blow to a key target once its position is secured, and the first weapon to be dropped when it’s time to retreat; it’s easily the heaviest piece of equipment on the Shell.

LEFT SHOULDER: YOMI: An impressive sensor array featuring radar, sonar, infrared, and everything else you could possibly imagine, along with the ability to transmit this data to the rest of the squad. The name also refers to the interlinked AI stored in the core, which can read data from this unit, alongside all others that the Shell manages to observe from, and use it to identify key points of interest and project predictions of the immediate future with a 99.999% success rate. Typically this is difficult to respond to for a pilot stuck reading it in the moment, but when combined with a neural interface, this allows them to effectively see roughly ten seconds into the future, for ten seconds. This manifests as a massive boost in accuracy and ability to evade incoming attacks, though overuse of this ability has been known to literally boil the minds of human pilots when it doesn’t drain the energy reserves dry.

LEFT ARM: PS-93 Holdout: A cheap, light, Paragon United pistol that’s easy on resource use. It’s more of an emergency weapon for close quarters than anything else

LEFT BAY: WAXING CRESCENT: Though the YOMI system takes up the majority of CROW-IIIs energy supply, it manages to fit this MURAKUMO laser blade into its arsenal. CROW-III isn’t remotely tuned for melee duels, but it can deliver decisive strikes in a pinch, and is surprisingly effective when combined with careful use of the YOMI system.

Barn Owl is a reverse joint Shell sporting a robust pair of high power legs and a reinforced core. Coupled with high intensity jump jets meant for horizontal clearance as opposed to vertical, this spring loaded bombshell is capable of high speed, low height engagements where the distance can be a matter of feet between two machines. It's low profile and slanted armor plating attempt to reduce drag on the machine, and upper limb components are kept strictly functional in order to cut weight off the frame of the machine. Everything about it, including the entirely off-grid equipment selection made by the Pilot, are meant to cut down on generator strain and maximize the available power for the jump jets and the overclocked CQBFCS. Over short bursts, Barn Owl can hit extremely high speeds, the intended tactic to outflank and outmaneuver the opponent before delivering a choice shot or melee strike to disable enemy units. The weapon of choice is a Vekkor Arms Axecannon; a hybrid weapon consisting of a semi-automatic, hand fed heavy shotgun coupled with a reinforced frame for the front loaded bayonet and axehead. This particular version has separate grips for both of the Shell's hands to ensure that whatever angle the weapon is held at, a concerted effort can be put into stabbing and swinging the frontal melee weapon. As a quirk of the pilot's personal equipment, the cockpit of the Shell is specially designed to have a great deal of the most important systems fixed on the right hand side of the machine.

► [Vekkor Arms RPR Axecannon] || An extremely uncommon weapon format that varies from company to company, this particular varient is a reinforced chassis RPR 7+1 formatted with a built in poleaxe head front loaded on the weapon as well as several hand holds for the Shell to grip in order to swing the weapon tight to the frame while still allowing momentum to build effectively.
► [Overclocked Murakumo T600K FCS] || A designated CQB FCS overclocked to minimize input-to-action time, allowing for near instantaneous machine response time. This system relies heavily on the reaction speed of the user, and its processing power has left the machine's auto-tracking systems with much to be desired.
► [Adrelaide Digitigrade High Mobility Suite] || Consisting of a matching set of high power reverse joint legs and equally high powered rear boosters, this mobility package by Adrelaide Rocketry is built with weight management and forward momentum in mind. The high strength leg unit has several hydraulic coil systems that act like the legs of a grasshopper, allowing the Shell to fling itself at an elongated arc with tremendous burst speed, but require a recharge period before they're available for usage. For this issue, the included booster system is designed with a direct tap to the fuel systems in mind. Able to generate maximum thrust, the boosters are capable of extending and maintaining the Shell's current speed over a wider distance, or equally able to make mid-air directional adjustments it the pilot's whim.
► [Murakumo Generation 3 "Spin Doctor" Power Generator] || With a focus on recharge speed over capacity, Barn Owl's personal generator has been adjusted to maintain a tandem recharge cycle with the hydraulic system of the leg unit. This means that every time the Shell makes a mechanical jump, it cycles the power system and recharges until the next input is made by the pilot. The Spin Doctor's high-speed recharge system compliments the strategy well, despite the necessary frugality of the weapon systems the Shell is expected to use.
► [Custom Rosayu Armor Chassis package] || Rosayu Armor are known for sturdy tank-style designs from standard bipeds to tread-rocking cannoneers alike. This "light weight" design features custom adjustments, such as reinforced elbow and shoulder joints, a "Tombstone" deadplate front end, a low profile armored scanner suite, and a specialized cockpit with roughly eighty percent of the controls and critical systems shifted to the right hand side of the machine.}

Hachidori is 12m tall, all black with a bright blue core and red accents all over its body. It's different from a standard Shell, because it doesn't have the standard missiles on its back. Seohyung modeled his Shell for speed, so he did away with unnecessary armaments. He made the knees proportional to how his cybernetic knees work. He put every bit of himself into his machine. On the left shoulder is an emblem with a hummingbird and sun in the background. Hachidori means hummingbird in Japanese, and the sun to symbolize the rising sun.

Two laser blades: The blades resemble his daisho. The energy comes out of hilts stored in compartments in Hachidori's wrists. They shoot out into its hands and are ready to go in seconds. It takes up a lot of energy to use. He has a GPS tracker on them in case he loses one in battle, so he can try and retrieve it later. Sometimes its a lost cause and he needs a new one built. He can wield both or one at a time.

Energy shield: It covers just over Hachidori's head all the way down to mid-calves. It's light blue like his energy blades and doesn't require him to hold it. Seohyung has it set to automatically activate in his blind spots when he's surrounded by a lot of enemies. It eats up more of his generator's battery when he's using his swords, so he doesn't make a habit of activating it.

Handgun: The only weapon he has that doesn't use energy. It has fifteen rounds and is kept in a compartment on his hip. He doesn't carry extra ammo for it, since he rarely uses it. It's a last resort weapon.

Hachidori is built for speed, so to maximize his output, Seohyung burns his generator pretty quick. His Shell's generator life is half that of a normal Shell if he uses his weapons consistently. His aim is to get rid of an enemy as fast as possible, and as long as he does that then he doesn't need to worry about his generator.

KING GIZZARD evokes the same kind of punk-kitsch embodied by its pilot. With a rust red paint job and silver trimmings, odd bit of graffiti and the occasional peak of brown and white from its previous designation as BUZZARD I. It is held aloft by reverse-jointed legs with an emphasis on direct movement speed over jumping ability used in conjunction with its ultraboosters which - along with its sharp angular construction - is heavily inspired by Murakumo Robotics designs for greater speed. Its armour plating and weapons systems are exclusively Grand Union however, tightly designed weaponry to hit as hard as it looks and with the shell's head, core and gravity matrix receiving an elegant kinetic shielding designed to keep the important parts secure without being too bulky. The rest of the shell is outfitted with a much more simple (and cheaper) layer of armour that's intended more for stopping stray hits than anything else. All of this is done in service of the shell's unique mode of piloting, the Ventriculum0001 (or as its pilot refers to it: "Old Boy"). A guitar-like apparatus with multiple strings that, when plucked, move and operate different parts of the shell. While initially seeming like a gimmick, this allows a pilot with the right know how to shave off crucial seconds in movement and provide fluid hit-and-run assaults on other shells that leave them scrambling, providing the team a huge boost in both crowd control and battlefield control as it zips around crippling shells and evading fire with finesse. As such, the bulk of its armaments and design ethos is with close range combat in mind.

That in mind, the weaknesses of the shell are self-evident. It has incredibly high damage output and manoeuvrability but cannot take heavy hits without severe consequences, it is capable of getting into a direct fight with other shells provided it can deflect and parry but a slugfest is out of the question (this has the additional concern of knocking its pilot off-rhythm, leaving it a sitting duck should the worst happen). Furthermore, the shell is built with close to mid-range in mind and as such the level of support it can provide on the battlefield drops off rapidly if it can't get close enough. Further, it isn't great in enclosed spaces and can require some quick lateral thinking from its pilot in order to keep it moving and out of harm's way.

LEFT ARM: VELVET BUZZSAW: A more pleasant name for an unpleasant weapon. A custom job using GU parts to create a large, loud and brutal high frequency buzzsaw that sits atop KING GIZZARD's left forearm for easier ripping and tearing while still keeping the hand free. Used in tandem with the shell's incredible speed to get around enemy shields and weapons and strike at their weak spots, riposte and even break energy blades or "gutting" the enemy shell by impaling the saw inside of it and wreaking havoc on its system. This technique leaves KING GIZZARD stuck in place for a counter-attack however so it's normally reserved as a way to hold a shell in place for a killshot from CROW III's sniper rifle or a finisher from any other nearby Vulture Squad member.

RIGHT HAND: GU-TA MODEL 17: A shell sized shotgun, sawn-off for an even wider spread and kick at close quarters while still being able to be held one-handed. Whilst not particularly resource heavy and boasting impressive stopping power (with the chance of embedding shrapnel in the opponent shell to damage the internal systems) it can only hold two shots at a time before needing to reload which makes it tricky to use for a style that can't afford to stop moving. Therefore it's better saved as a finisher or when a particularly good weak point has shown itself.

RIGHT SHOULDER: GU-38 'ENCORE' LAUNCHER: A missile launcher that can fire in bursts of three when KING GIZZARD is stopped and readied. The missiles shoot out in a spiral and a whistle and explode in a burst of colour on impact like fireworks. While decently fast and hard hitting they don't have much in the way of tracking ability, while this does mean they're unlikely to veer too far off target due to flares or other scrambling methods it also means they can be dodged by a shell that sees them coming and has enough time and speed to do so. Additionally it forces a shell whose key defence is movement to stand in place making it only viable as an opener to engagements or to provide some ranged support for allies.

LEFT SHOULDER: FUNKTION 7 SOUNDSYSTEM: For the most part, not a weapon. The soundsystem sits slightly out of the shoulder and can be turned off or on to amplify whatever the pilot is playing onto the battlefield. The technical reason is for "moral" but it's mostly for ego. That said it does also have a practical purpose. Thanks to extensive tinkering it's been discovered that by re-distributing enough power into the soundsystem and altering the output frequency it can function as a sort of EMP wave. Temporarily taking enemy shells offline or at the very least scrambling their weapons system. Due to KING GIZZARD's light stature however this technique does absolutely wreck the shit of the shell's energy reserves and can lead to overheating if not used carefully.

The Shrike is a modified first generation G.U. S-86 Shell designed by the fledgling Grand Union at the advent of the Nation Fall. In its inception, the future of warfare was uncertain and the Shell's original run suffered from a lack of future-proofing. The S-86 was designed as a Combined Arms support Shell, meant to work in tandem with traditional infantry and support teams in prolonged confrontations. The original S-86 carried a single Rifle and a mounted Howitzer, stood on bipedal legs and supported minimal boosters, and sported immense armor for its size at the time. This gave it a reputation as a durable machine meant for static defenses, where it excelled in prolonged wars of attrition but suffered in skirmishing conflicts with faster Shells or enemy forces that could outmaneuver it. It gained a loving reputation amongst those who fought alongside it as a 'Trooper', a stalwart machine of the line.

The iconic and unique design quirk of the S-86 is the Entrenching Arms. The S-86's arms and hands are capable of locking joints and magnetically fusing the bulky armor plates of the fingers into singular solid mass spikes. This gives it incredible strength and durability in its arms, and made it highly effective in situations where hasty defensive positions needed to be established for Infantry. It could, with ease and haste, dig suitable trenchworks or otherwise build barriers of earth. In the rare situations of the S-86 being in position to assault an enemy fortification, no walls, bunkers, or enemy Shells could withstand the strikes of its reinforced arms.

The Shrike resembles this original machine in Chassis and Entrenching Arms alone. It has been, over the decades since its inception, heavily retrofit to be a capable modern warfare machine. Its armaments have been replaced with highly weight efficient energy based options, a laser rifle and energy shield giving it immense versatility while keeping the weight low. Its reliance on a Shell Pistol as a sidearm reduces its offensive capabilities, but only further lowered the initial weight issue of the S-86 base design. A modern Gravity Matrix is housed within its incredibly armored hull, only further reducing the machine's mobility handicap and rendering a balanced and well-rounded Shell. The immense Howitzer cannon has been replaced by a Gatling cannon, completing the arsenal of sheer versatility of the Shrike.

Despite all these modifications and upgrades, the Shrike still suffers from design flaws of its early inception as a Shell. There simply isn't room in the head for highly advanced Fire Control Systems, meaning that the pilot has to rely on personal skill even more than the average pilot to make shots land on swiftly moving targets. In spite of the immense armor, the reduced weight keeps it more mobile than one would anticipate of its archaic designs and allow it to brawl with larger, heavier, Shells-- but it cannot mount Boosters in respectable quantities and is capable only of very limited bursts of speed or flight, meaning that dedicated skirmishing Shells can still outmaneuver it in prolonged conflicts. The Shrike's ultimate flaw, however, is that to make room for modern Generator equipment room within the Shell had to be made; the cockpit has no ejection capabilities, and the Radiators can struggle to keep up with constant use of the energy equipment.

in short, the Shrike is a versatile Shell who's flaws render it sub-optimal in high intensity engagements that last longer than its Heat Sinks against opponents who can escape its immediate threat range. Its energy based equipment and incredibly durable construction render it perfect for prolonged expeditions without maintenance and give it respectable ranged firepower, while the rest of its kit gives it shockingly brutal close range power.

Primary Armaments: Shoulder Mounted Gatling Cannon, Murakumo “Susanoo” Series Laser Rifle.
The Shrike’s shoulder mounted gatling cannon is a powerful weapon requiring time to kneel and deploy. The variant equipped on the archaic Shell possesses an immense rate of fire, but lacks in spread control and is impossible to use for anything besides suppression beyond medium ranges.

The laser rifle is a salvaged Murakumo variant rifle traditionally paired with highly advanced fire control systems for their automated Shell forces; rather than the traditional hail of laser fire, this “Susanoo” series laser rifle consolidates its charge into a slower firing yet devastating singular beam of energy.

Secondary Armaments: Pistol, Energy Shield, Reinforced Entrenching Arms (Nicknamed Shrike's Talons)
The pistol carried by the Shrike is a variant sporting a higher rate of fire than traditional Shell sidearms, but otherwise is par for the course when it comes to the usually unassuming backup weapon category.

The energy shield is a somewhat older variant, but still markedly more up to date than the Shell’s chassis. Located in the Shrike’s left arm, this shield forms a full body energy barrier that can be maneuvered with ease by the left arm. Generates more heat than the latest, cutting edge, energy shields. Its appearance on the archaic Shell usually catches opponents utterly off guard.

IJSVOGEL, or KINGFISHER in English, is one of three shells designed by the remnants of the Operational Support Command Land before the Royal Netherlands Army was integrated into the Grand Union. It was incorporated into military service a few months later after succeeding in various tests assigned to the shell. But shortly into its service, the original designs of the three shells were merged into one simplified infantry support shell. Ijsvogel then found itself under the service of Wolfhound LLC and assigned to its current role of skirmisher with strategic support.

As a skirmisher shell, Ijsvogel doesn't necessarily appear to look like one with its heavy armored plates and rather sluggish speeds. However, the head designer wanted to revolutionize its potential as a harasser of the enemy. By sacrificing its speed slightly in favor of firepower and durability, Ijsvogel is easily able to provide suppressive fire and serve as a distraction for hostiles. And when it's done being a nuisance or starts to get overwhelmed by its adversaries, the shell is still able to rapidly retreat to safety (or to a distance) if necessary so it could live to fight another day.

Another role that Ijsvogel serves is providing strategic support to ground forces. With assistance from THEIA, the shell is able to provide real-time information on the field to squadmates and command. And help from its pilot guarantees that it's able to perform efficiently under intensive pressures. It also has a military-grade signal amplifier and jammer in its back, able to boost or silence any given signal at will. Ijsvogel has been given a coat of orange and white paint in tribute to the former country known as Nederland, or The Netherlands in English.

ONS VOLK, or OUR PEOPLE in English, is a heavy machine gun crafted by the finest Belgian firearms manufacturer designed specifically for Ijsvogel. It requires the shell to use both of its hands for proper use in combat. And its large weight makes any shoulder-based weaponry obsolete. But to make up for the shortcoming, Ons Volk can swap to three different ammo types in the field: armor-piercing, high-explosive, and incendiary. In addition, it carries around 250 bullets per round with 20 magazines on reserve within the shell's right arm (the other ammo types are housed in the shoulder).

THEIA is a complex artificial intelligence designed exclusively for Ijsvogel located in the lower back. Originally programmed as an urban search and rescue response for the NCTV (National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism) in the Netherlands, it was heavily modified for military use while Ijsvogel was being constructed. Its current purpose is to analyze in real-time the combatants and terrain on the frontlines to squadmates and headquarters. THEIA, in its essence, is an advanced spotter with an understanding of social cohesion within its assigned squad.

In the upper back of Ijsvogel lies a signal amplifier and jammer. The amplifier can boost the signal strength of friendly communications. But if there are more signals to amplify, the weaker the device's capabilities before it gets overwhelmed. While the signal jammer disrupts any communications deemed hostile to a certain range. Its effectiveness is upon a fifty foot range with a maximum range of one hundred feet. Both devices are located in the upper back of the shell. Furthermore, Ijsvogel can withstand any climate and weather with its protective layer.
