I have a desire to share some history facts with people. Ask and you shall (probably) recieve!

Example!: After King Charles XII of Sweden (also known as "Carolus Rex") died during the Siege of Fredickshald in Norway from a Musket Ball to the side, the Carolean Army decided to march through the treacherous Norwegian mountains back to Sweden, during the long and gruelling march, 3,700 Swedes died out of 5,000. Whenever Norwegian troops began to chase the Swedes, they were dumbfounded by the hundreds of dead bodies in the mountains along the trail. The incident would later be known as the "Carolean Death March". In the end, the Carolean Death March marked the end of the Swedish Empire and their time as a great European power.

We all know the big players of WW2: The United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Canada, Russia

How about some facts of some lesser known nations who contributed to the war effort? What badassery has gone sorely unrecognized?

@Skwint I have a pretty good story for you. Whenever Brazil expressed their will to fight in the war, they were initially denied but eventually they would be given cheap equipment by the U.S. In Italy, 1943, I don't exactly remember where it was, but 3 Brazillians held a town against a giant German attack, repelling them until their ammo ran dry, then they performed a death bayonet charge, where they were shot and killed. The B.E.F would later be named the "Smoking Snakes" for their bravery in the Italian campaign, even the Germans honoured them, digging them graves and naming them the "Three Brazillian Heroes".
