Mos Eisley, Tatooine

"Look... The creds are somewhere safe. I'll pay your boss, but I need to go get 'em first. Of course, if you're gonna keep me here at gunpoint..." The wookie, with his bowcaster placed neatly on the table between them, made a series of growls and grunts before leaning across the table and taking up the bowcaster. The young woman on the other side of the table was sitting casually, one leg over the other and her arm flung over her seat. She looked kinda bored.

"...Well then, what say I give you the credits, and you forget you ever saw me?" She asked, raising her eyebrows. The wookie roared and reached across the table, then grabbed her by the throat, ...but he didn't choke her or anything. Yet.

"Questioning your loyalty? No~, no!" She waved her hands, causing the wookie to growl again, "...Okay, maybe a little." The wookie began to tighten his grip. "Alright! Chill! I'll pay up, but the credits are stashed somewhere safe... Okay? I don't feel like getting my head twisted off over a little debt... Just calm down. Hell, you can be my armed escort if you feel you need to keep an eye on me. No funny business..." The wookie reluctantly let go, but the moment he did there were two quick blasts underneath the table. The wookie was still alive despite the painful burns, but with his blurred vision and weakness he couldn't shoot down the smuggler before she darted off out of the cantina. Some Mandalorian, running away from a fight. Two unfortunate weequay caught the stray bolts, and the wookie began limping after his target.

Rayne Prower had quite a high price on her head due to debts with the Hutts, so Tatooine was the worst place in the galaxy to be waltzing around right now. No ship and not a lot of credits simply spelled 'dead'.

"Gotta find a ship to hijack..." Rayne said as she discretely made her way toward the spaceport. Her right hand hovered over the holster on her right hip just in case things turned sour. "...Or maybe someone would be kind enough to give me a l..i..f..t.. Oh wait, yeah.. this is Mos Eisley. There are no kind people here."

"88 why don't you reset the power couplings... If you already tried it then how bout you... No.. no you.... Well if you know so much about ships then how about I just disassemble you and put you in the ship? You think that'll fix it?" Xan argues through his headset as the climbs out of the maintenance hatch on his ship. "Stupid heap of junk!" He kicks the top of the ship as hard as he can and the engines start to sputter and eventually turn on. "Hey there we go! Now come on 88 we're behind schedule as it is no more room for mistakes now." Xan climbs off the top of the ship and runs into the cockpit where an old run down looking droid is sitting in the copilots chair. "Looks like out time on this damned planet is over." Xan starts to power up the engines for takeoff, but theres a terrible noise and the power to the ship cuts off. Xan rests his head against the instrument cluster. "Im going to go check on the power core..."

"Just what I require..." Rayne murmured upon entering the landing bay for a certain malfunctioning ship. The poor guy inside it probably wouldn't know what hit him... While the door was still open she crept on inside and slid one of the blasters out of its holster. As the sound of boots trampling on the metal floor came closer, Rayne took cover. And as soon as the hopefully-alone pilot was close enough, she'd turn the corner and blast his face off!

No, no, that's way too harsh. I'll give him or her a nice, friendly 'get the hell off my new ship'. Yeah, that works!

So she revised her new plan not to blast the guy's face off, and instead prepared to make him give the ship up, without having to give him a third, molten eye!

Xan gets up from the pilots seat and walks out of the cockpit, immediately greeted by a woman with a blaster drawn. He could obviously see that she wasn't there to become friends. "Listen, I don't know why you're on my ship... But I can almost guarantee you its not going to work. If you're looking for me then having your blaster out isnt the best way to greet me, especially not on my ship." The IG-88 hearing Xan talking to someone walks out of the cockpit and stands behind Xan, saying something in a foreign language. "No, I believe she was just leaving. Isn't that right miss?" Xan responds to the droid.

Rayne's game face remained as she greeted the pilot, ...riiight up until a freaking IG-88 walked up behind him. Yeah, the whole threatening aura just sort of disappeared. In fact now those two were the threat!

"Aw, Sithspit... Uh, yeah!" Rayne span the blaster and slotted it back in its holster, "I was just leaving." She laughed, turning and walking off the ship, whistling merrily to herself as if nothing happened here. A minute later there was a massive volley of blasters fired outside, and Rayne ran back into the ship with both her guns drawn.

"Okay, I'm sorry about breaking in. But can't we work something out?! I repent or whatever, just.. anything but the mercenaries!" She said, her aim not being trained on Xan this time. Instead she was watching the ramp into the ship where countless people could be heard approaching. "I would give you lotsa credits! Lots and lots of credits!"

Xan leans back and whispers something to the droid and it responds back in its foreign language. "It seems like I could just turn you over to them and get quite a bit of money too. You know... Its been a while since 88 here collected a bounty, I'm sure that he would like to get back into the game." Xan closes the ramp to stop the mercenaries from getting in, giving him time to work this deal out. "You've been on this ship for less than a minute and you've already brought armed men to me. I'd like to see how you're going to negotiate this one." Xan looked the woman up and down, traveling through space can get boring, and IG-88 is about as good of a friend as well... an IG-88 Assassin drid can be.

"Know what? If you want to turn me in I'll just shoot you, shoot the droid and probably go down guns blazing against the mercs - I noticed the ship wasn't starting before I got on board. There's option one. Option two... Gimme a shot. Maybe I'll be more use alive. Besides, I'm willing to buy my way offworld if you're all for it." Rayne said, sighing in defeat as she walked through 'option two'. Thrill was great, but as much fun as it would be to take on all those mercs, Rayne just didn't feel like dying today!

Xan could see than the woman would make good on that threat. "Very well. 88 go up through the airlock and get a jump on them. Me and her will face them head on." Xan turns to the woman "You ready for this?" The IG-88 walks over to the weapons cabinet and takes out two full sized rifles while Xan walks over behind him and takes his carbine out. "This shouldn't be much of a problem, Me and 88 have gotten out of tougher situations than this." Xan steps over to the boarding ramp "You best not be lying about fixing the ship." Xan lowers the ramp and goes out firing at the mercenaries while the IG-88 fires down from the top of the ship.

"Oh really? What could be worse than-" Rayne began to ask, interrupting herself when the image of an AT-AT trampling Hoth flashed through her mind. "Never mind." She said running out after Xan. Mercs that worked together like this were just small fry. It's the big names Rayne had to look out for. As she too cover and started firing back, she wondered... How exactly the hell was she gonna make up for something like this? Helping fix the ship was good, but at least paying for the ride afterwards would only be polite. Life-saving stunts don't usually come cheap.

"...Names Prower by the way." Rayne called over the sound of blasters.

"They call me Xan." He replied to the girl all while firing at the Mercenaries "I dont know what you did to piss people off, but they are really trying to get you." the Ig-88 jumped down from the ship over closer to the mercenaries, the droid moving faster than it looks. "With 88 here we won't have to worry about much. He can take on... well.. most anything."

"You don't piss off Hutts and get off the hook lightly." Rayne sighed, reloading her guns and unleashing another volley of death into the mercs. Now with three opponents who were all damn good shots, they weren't so confident and began to retreat away from the landing bay. Still, Rayne didn't hesitate to shoot any of them in the back as they ran. They would do the same to her after all...

When they were in the clear and there was little to no enemy resistance left, the blonde-haired gunslinger looked back at Xan's ship, then to him. "So now that you know who wants me taken out and how dangerous that shit is, ...we still good?"

Xan just smirks "We'll see how good we are after the ship gets running. But for now, I don't think we've had a proper introduction. "I'm Xanatos Albrem, but you can just call me Xan." The IG-88 walks over to the pair "And this heres 88. He's not much for conversation but in a fight it's good to have him around. And this..." Xan puts his hand on the ship "This is the Wild Savrip. Normally shes good to me but we've been having trouble since we entered the outer rim."

"Well the Outer Rim is a useless craphole. Should fly this thing somewhere sunny when we get it up and running... And not multiple-suns sunny, that's just..." Rayne flung her arm out toward the suns as if to say 'look at this bullshit', "That's just getting on my frickin' nerves." She murmured, putting the two guns away and walking up the ramp into the ship.

"So what's the problem with the Savrip?"

"Well... I wish i knew. The thing started having problems once we neared Tattoine and once we landed it just well... wouldn't get going again. I'm an expert on droid repair, not ships. So I'll make you a deal, if you can repair the ship, I'll take you wherever you need to go. Sound good? If not then it looks like we're both going to be stuck here."

"And eventually we'll also be dead. Mercs and bounty hunters are stubborn creatures..." Rayne said as she headed for the maintenance hatch, casually throwing her overcoat on the floor to give her more room. "So I best work fast... Lucky for us I know my way around these things. Shouldn't take me too long."

About an hour later, the not-so-Mandalorian woman emerged from the maintenance hatch and pressed in the intercom, "Alright, give her a kick and see if she starts. I've done all I can down here."

"Heh alright, Lets see how good you really are. 88 try and fire her up." The ship shutters an whines as it trys its damnedest to start. "Come on you colossal hunk of shit! Start up already!" Xan kicks the ship and it roars to life "Aw yes! We can get off this horrible rock! Alright, you kept your word, now I'll keep mine. 88 get everything ready for take off, I want out of here as soon as possible. I just hope they don't give the contract to someone else cause we're late." Xan walks back into the cockpit and sits down in the pilots chair.

The Wild Savrip takes off from the space port and blasts off into space.

"So... What contract might that be?" Rayne said playfully before resting her fingerless-gloved hands on the pilot seat. Now that they were free of the whole 'bounty hunter spam' threat, the feeling in the ship was peaceful. "Ah, it's Rayne by the way. Rayne Prower." The young woman introduced herself properly, extending her arm over the seat to shake Xan's hand.

"I was a mechanic for a lot of my life; joined the Rebellion as an engineer and saw quite a lot of combat around the galaxy. What'd you get up to during all that?" Rayne asked with a curious tilt of her head. She didn't realise yet that she'd changed the initial topic on Xanatos' 'contract'. Hell, he was probably the first person in ages to be conversing kindly without a blaster pointed at her. Bounty hunters, mercs and henchmen were so god damn blunt...

"I'm Xanatos Albrem" Xan shakes the girls hand "But you can call me Xan. Rust buckets over there is IG-88. He might not look it now, but at one time he was the deadliest droid in all the galaxy. And now hes stuck here with me, a nobody transport pilot, isnt that right 88?" The droid just sits there without saying anything. "eh hes not much for conversation but hes damn good in a fight, good to have around in this business." Xan flips some switches on the controls as they prepare to leave the system. "We're heading off to Ryloth to pick somthing up. They wont tell me what it is, but I'm not one to ask many questions. I don't even know who it is that wants something transported, but if its from Ryloth I cant imagine them being anyone pleasant. If you don't mind I'd like to at least pick it up before we take you somewhere. I can't risk being any later than I am."

"Heck, if anything maybe I could lend a hand," Rayne offered, "If you're hiring or whatever. I'll be honest, there's not much going for me in this business anymore. Tried the smuggler life, and that's where I ended up. No ship, dead pals, and a metric ton of debt... to the very people who took my ship and killed my crew." The blonde humphed.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt to add you on. We even have one last cabin free for you to use. You might need to clean it out though... we just kinda threw whatever fell off the ship into there." Xan stands up and walks out of the cockpit "88 take us to Ryloth, if theres a problem let me know. So I guess you want the grand tour of the ship." He steps out of the cockpit and stops at the door "To the right, its cabins, storage, and an escape pod. To the left its the Galley, rec room, storage, and an escape pod. There you go, you now know the ship. Its not much, but i got it for a great price. Its amazing the things you'll find in a scrap yard. Hell, I even found 88 in a scrap yard."
