Cassiopeia walked around Nic, unable to help her eyes roaming as she looked him over. It was hard to deny how sharp people looked in a well-tailored suit or outfit of any kind. Cassi stopped in front of Nic and looked into his eyes. She smiled softly. It wasn’t very often that she saw Nic shaken. Even some things that she revealed to him about the supernatural community didn’t rattle him, but suit buying did.
”Je pense que c'est juste la bonne quantité. Vous pouvez l'habiller de haut en bas très facilement. But how do you feel in it? If you’re uncomfortable we can look for something else,” she said seriously.
Comfort was important. Cassi knew some pushing was in order, but she didn’t want to push Nic so hard that he would never consider wearing another suit in his entire life.

Caden chuckled and shifted Nero in his arms to allow him access to the door. He opened up the door and replied to Nero. ”Ich werde dich immer auffangen, mein kleiner Kobold.”
He shut the door behind him before carrying Nero up the stairs to their room. ”Do you want to check on your cats?” Caden had grown accustomed to the two cats running around their home. He had figured out their patterns easily and no longer worried if they ran underfoot. Of course, Caden was more than ready to lock the cats out of their bedroom for a few hours, but he wanted to give Nero the option.
Nic’s eyes follow Cassi still before he smiles at her answer with a nod. His gaze shifts to the mirror and he twists as he looks over his reflection. He raises his shoulders before lifting his arms and nods again. “It’s comfortable, yeah.” He tells Cassi as he does another twist. “If you like it then… I think it’s a winner.”
Nero

Nero happily settles in Caden’s arms. “Ich weiß.” They say with a silly smile as they’re carried inside. “I’ll give them affection later. I’d very much like to continue the conversation we started earlier.” They say with an innocent bat of their eyelashes.
Cassiopeia watched Nic adjust and move around, nodding in approval. She had done a lot of suit shopping with Caden over the years and understood how a proper suit was supposed to fit. She smiled when Nic passed his approval.
”Then you get a kiss,” she said and kissed him softly, resting her hand on his cheek as she did so.
Caden

”Ah, the one about my fascination with your legs?” Caden shifted his eyes to stare at them before he looked back at Nero. ”I wondered if I should have waited or just had you outside, but, who knows how long we'll be and I didn't want you getting cold,” Caden said, meeting Nero's eyes once more.
Nic lets out a little chuckle against Cassi’s lips before he kisses her back softly. “Okay, do I need to try on another one or can they just go based on my measurements?” He silently wishes for the second option, but he promised himself that he wouldn’t whine and plans to keep that promise. He does, however, keep it to himself that he doesn’t have black dress shoes for now.
Nero

“Your words, not mine.” Nero teases, watching Caden’s gaze drift before letting out a soft laugh. “You know, I had similar thoughts running through my mind. I thought that you get cold.” Their eyes seem to twinkle with mischief as they tease their mate with a sly smirk.
Cassiopeia left her eyes shut even after the kiss was over. Her hands held onto his jacket while she listened to Nic. She smirked, snorting slightly at the undercurrent of fear Nic’s voice had.
”They should be able to, but you might have to come in to have it sized once or twice before it is finalized.” Cassi opened her eyes and pulled back. ”Do you have a nice pair of shoes? They don’t have to be dress shoes, just something that is nice and not scuffed up.”
Caden

Caden laughed and opened their bedroom door after shifting Nero’s in his arms to do so. ”Well, how about next time we find ourselves alone outside, we see who gets cold first?” Caden shut the bedroom door behind him and scanned the room for signs of black, and white fur balls.
“Wait, don’t I need it for tomorrow though?” Nic asks, a little concerned if it will be ready in time. His gaze automatically shift when Cassi opens her eyes, unable to help himself from staring at the bright blue orbs and forgetting momentarily that he wasn’t going to bring up his shoes.
“I have a nice gray pair.” He says, lost in her eyes. He can hear the shop assistants twittering about how he looks at Cassi, the women sighing a little.
Nero

Nero laughs along and nods. “Deal.” They say with an eager grin before they sit up a little in Caden’s arms so they can help find the cats. A pair of glowing eyes peek out of the cat tree Nero had picked for the room before another pair joins the first. As if they planned it, both fur balls shoot out of their enclosures and head straight for the dragon’s shins.
Nic’s attentiveness never ceased to make Cassi feel seen and loved. Her whole world seemed to pause when Nic's gaze pulled her into him. She stared back into his eyes, feeling calm but also frozen in place. She smiled when he worried about needing the black suit for tomorrow and she shook her head.
”No, you'll wear this red jacket for tomorrow. That way we'll be matching,” she said, revealing the colour of her dress to him.
She barely heard the sales associates comment on how they looked at one another. All she really understood was how this man consumed her entire being with just his presence. Cassi has been in love before, but it had never been so complete like this.
”Nic, you're staring,” she said once her cheeks started to feel warm.
Caden

Caden spotted the cats shortly after Nero did. He laughed when they raced over to them. Caden shifted Nero, setting them on the ground before he bent down to scratch and greet the cats. Caden scooped both of them up and kissed their heads as he stood.
”Alright, kätzchen, you'll have to play in the other room for a while.”
Mic nods slightly, an easy smile slipping onto his face once more. “That makes much more sense.” He says before leaning down to kiss Cassi’s nose. His smile widens into a grin when she blushes and calls him out for staring.
“Sorry, it’s hard not to stare at you.” His tone is low and soft so only Cassi can hear this, flashing a small wink at her before he turns to the mirrors once more. “We got black pants at the last shop, right? Would that go with this?” He flexes an arm, seeing if the sleeves reached an appropriate length.
Nero

Nero lets out a soft snort as Luci and Mika take Caden’s attention, turning to go sit on their desk as he picked up the cats in his arms. They watch with a smile, leaning back on their hands and kicking their feet absentmindedly. “They truly adore you - your charm works on everything.” They tease lightheartedly.

”I think it might have something to do with how I’ve charmed their parent,” Caden said. He carried the cats to the joined door that now existed between their bedroom and Nero’s office. He deposited the cats on the other side with some treats before he closed the door and blocked the cat door. Caden then turned around, and crossed the room to where Nero perched. He wasted no time in getting lost in their mate, more than ready to do the same again tomorrow once they were bonded.
The next day, the house was a flurry of activity. Caden and Nero were having a small ceremony to complete their bond in the evening, but Caden never did anything small. All morning and afternoon, people came and went with flowers, food, and decorations to set the scene for such an important event. Caden even hired people to do Nero’s hair if they wanted it, as well as their make-up. He extended those services to Kimiko and Cassiopeia as well. Cassiopeia had readily accepted, and enjoyed the pampering to its fullest.
When the sun started to move lower into the sky, Caden started to get dressed with Nero. ”Wie fühlen Sie sich?”

The rest of the shopping trip went off without a hitch. Cassiopeia had gotten Nic a black button-up to go with the black pants from the other store. It would pair up well with the red sports jacket, and make his features pop. Honestly, Cassi didn’t know how she was going to concentrate on her duties tomorrow of bonding her best friend to their mate with Nic looking the way he did.
Once they got back home, Cassi hung up Nic’s outfit for the following day to keep it from wrinkling before she changed and they got started on the garden boxes. After a few hours, Cassi returned home. As much as she wanted to spend another night with Nic, her cats would have been lonely without her since Wayland wasn’t there.
The next morning, Cassi woke up to get some house cleaning done and tended to her plants outside. Winter was drawing close, and she needed to prepare her plants for the colder months. After that, she packed everything up before Nic picked her up and then headed to Caden’s house.
Now, Cassi sat on the sofa in Kimiko’s room, drinking a glass of whiskey as she went over the ceremony one more time. She had seen the bonding ceremony of Caden’s people only once, and only participated in half of it herself. It was an honour to perform it for her best friend, but it also wasn’t something normally performed by an outsider. She didn’t want to screw it up.
Avery Zain

It was difficult getting out of bed the next morning. The warm body beside him enticed Avery to just ignore the world outside and stay in bed a little longer. However, today was not the day for that. Caden roused Avery through their bond, and the werewolf grumbled in annoyance when he was woken. He kissed Kimiko’s head before getting up. Caden sent Avery on a perimeter check, showing him where the weakness had been in the warding the day before.
When Avery reached the location, he noticed a fair bit of activity had occurred during the night but he didn’t smell anything out of the ordinary. After that, Avery was well awake and decided to get a decent work-out in before he was shanghaied in helping the staff prepare for Caden and Nero’s ceremony. It was all work Avery was used to doing when a big event was happening. He fell into the rhythm easily, and the hours passed by quickly.
Avery returned to the room he shared with Kimiko to shower before he was kicked out by Cassi, and told to take Nic. Avery glanced side-long at Nic before huffing and brought the man to his room in staff housing.
”Drink”? Avery offered. ”Feel free to shower if you need to as well.”

Nero had indulged Caden, letting the makeup and hair stylists give them a makeover. Even though the demon knew how to do those things, they had to admit that their hair and makeupdid turn out well. Plus, they liked the pampering and Kiki had even talked the imp into a little dye job so they would no longer look the part of a ghost.
They had just finished pulling their dress on when Caden spoke and they scoot backwards towards his voice so he can get their zipper. “Nervös... aber letztendlich aufgeregt.” It’s hard not to be when the whole place is bustling with preparations. They begin to slip on their gold and black earrings they had gotten from New York as they wait for Caden’s assistance. “Und Sie?”

Mic could tell Cassi was nervous when he had picked her up to leave for Caden’s earlier, her big blue eyes giving her away. He was glad when she chose to get pampered with stylists, hoping it would help cal her down a little. There wasn’t much time to really interact with her though, having been exiled from Kimiko’s room and escorted to Avery’s instead.
“Water’s good, thank you. I’m going to take you up on that offer.” He replies with an easy smile. He never liked to stay in his scrubs long after work, feeling as though he were a carrier of diseases until he could shower and change. He hung his new suit coat and outfit from the door to Avery’s bathroom, excited to shower. He makes it a quick one, making sure to put his dirty clothes in a bag to take home and wash later.
After pulling on his clothes and shoes, he steps out of the bathroom and looks to Avery. “Does it look okay?” He asks, gesturing to his outfit.
Kimiko “Kiki” Voss

Kiki grumbled that morning, trying to wrap herself around Avery to keep him from leaving the bed but too sleepy to put enough force behind it. She quickly fell back asleep until she could no longer ignore the sunlight piercing through the windows directly into her eyes. With some more grumbling, she pulled herself out of the bed.
By the time she’d shower, she was pulled into getting ready with Nero before finally making it back to her room. When she saw Avery, her heart did a little flip before she pouted, a little disappointed that Cassi was already kicking him out. “They could have stayed…” She mumbles in a bratty tone as she starts to get dressed. “Or did you kick them out because you were worried you couldn’t keep your hands off Nic?” She plops down onto the couch with a smirk as she picks up her glass of wine to sip.

Caden buttoned the sleeves on his long-sleeved shirt while Nero dressed. His eyes kept wandering to his mate, feeling the very real temptation to undress them again. ”Aufgeregt. I can’t wait to share everything with you,” he said. Caden took a step closer to Nero and zipped up their dress. He ran his hands down their arms and kissed the top of their shoulder.
”You look Wunderschön by the way,” he whispered before kissing their cheek briefly.

While Nic utilised Avery’s private bath, he changed. Avery wore his usual all-black attire, with black boots and leather suspenders that acted more of a showpiece than material to hold up his pants. When Nic finally walked out, Avery had finished rolling up his shirt sleeves. He looked Nic over when the man asked for approval. Avery gave Nic a whistle of appreciation.
”You clean up well, my friend. Although, you could relax and look a little more natural,” Avery teased.

Cassiopeia looked up at Kimiko, glaring at the fox through her lashes. She flipped her hair and went back to reading through the ceremony. ”I kicked them out because they don’t need to be here,” she said, ignoring the fact that Kimiko was also right. Of course, she hoped the sentiment would be reciprocated once Nic saw her in her dress.
”How are you and Avery doing?” The last time Cassi saw the two of them together was after Avery blocked Kimiko out. Cassi then decided she needed to take over Kiki’s training, but they hadn’t had their first session yet.

Nero bites their lip in nervousness, trying to remind themself that Caden knows just about everything there is to know about them and still loves them. Sharing everything with him will be fine. “You’re not too bad yourself.” They say with a sly little grin before turning and standing on their toes to wrap their arms around his neck. “It’s funny though, someone might think we planned to match.”

They almost look like holsters.” He says as he gently uses a towel on his wet hair.

Kiki smiles smugly in return of Cassi’s glare, resisting the urge to tease her further. She steals a glance at the ceremony references Cassi is obsessing over before looking up when she spoke again. Her words catch her off guard, especially considering how the day before had gotten so intimate. She ignores her warm cheeks and takes a large sip of her wine.
“We’re good.” She says finally. Would have been better if you hadn’t interrupted us. As it is, Kiki’s glad that he’s less of a distraction now that he’s been kicked out. She wouldn’t want to miss this important event.

Caden’s arms naturally encircled his imp when their arms went around his neck. Caden chuckled at their comment, staring into their large blue and green eyes. His own shifted back and forth to look into each one. Caden always found himself staring into the green for longer, though.
”I think that is because we did,” he said and kissed Nero briefly. He didn’t want to ruin their make-up or be covered in lipstick. That would be for after the ceremony.

Avery chuckled and sipped his drink. He glanced towards his door and the open window. Kimiko was always in the back of his mind now. Thanks to the bond they shared, he could sense her even when he wasn’t with her, and after the night they shared, it seemed stronger today.
”I’m not sure why. You landed Cassi after all,” Avery reminded Nic. She wouldn’t be with someone who didn’t have a spine, that much Avery knew.
Avery looked down at his attire and nodded. ”They do, although this is more for show. I didn’t think wearing the ones I have for knives and guns would be appropriate. Are you nearly ready?”

Feeling more confident with her duties, Cassiopeia folded her piece of paper away before glancing at Kimiko. A slow smile moved across her lips, and a knowing look entered her eyes.

Although I have a feeling it’s better than good.” Cassi grinned before grabbing her dress bag. ”You’ll have to zip me in, but then we can go.” Cassi walked into Kiki’s bathroom and hung the bag up. She changed rather quickly, looking at her reflection in the mirror after to ensure everything still looked okay. Once she passed her own inspection, Cassi walked back out to Kimiko and had her zip up the dress.

Nero grins to themself, unwrapping their arms from Caden’s neck and instead wrapping them around his arm. “Try to make it a little less ominous,” They chirp with a wink before starting to pull him out of their room. Mika and Luci, not ones to be left out, ran around their legs as if leading the way. A soft chuckle escapes Nero as they feel some of the nerves die down.

Nic shrugs with a small smile, a little glint to his eyes as he tries to imagine how Cassi will look with the only hint they have being that it’s red. He goes and hangs the towel back up, running his fingers through his hair a couple of times to get it into its usual disheveled state. He laughs when Avery asks if he’s ready.
“I’m ready,” He says, walking back out of the bathroom. “Are we going back to Kimiko’s room to ‘pick up’ the girls?”

Kiki sticks her tongue out at Cassi, shaking her head with a roll of her eyes even as her cheeks burned. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll help you out.” She says, choosing to ignore what Cassi had said. As the other woman changed in the bathroom. Kiki slips her earrings on and adds a complimentary bracelet to her wrist before sliding on some kitty-heel black shoes.
“I have a feeling your relationship will be better than good once Nic sees you in this.” Kiki says as she walks over and zips up Cassi’s dress.

”I should hope so. We’ve taken to teasing each other more and more. The tension is nearly unbearable. We still haven’t had sex. We’ve done other things but never seem to have more than an hour to ourselves. I’m tempted just to book a hotel and tell the hospital Nic is dead,” Cassi joked poorly.
She sighed and adjusted her hair over one shoulder. ”Alright, let’s go. You look stunning,” Cassi complimented. She led Kimiko to the living room. They met up with Caden and Nero shortly after.

Caden laughed. ”Well, maybe I am a little nervous but mostly excited,” he admitted. Caden led Nero down the stairs, where they met Kimiko and Cassi in the living room. Caden grinned when he saw both women looking exceptional.
The house had grown quiet for the time being, the area around the gazebo having been set up for their little ceremony in the garden. While they were gone, the staff would set the table with an elaborate meal.
”I do love that I have chosen to surround myself with such beautiful things,” Caden said, grinning at the women in his life.
Cassiopeia rolled her eyes and hugged Caden tightly. ”Things? I’m not so sure.” She turned her attention to Nero. ”Deiseil?”

Avery checked his watch and shook his head. ”By the time we cross the yard, they should be with Caden and Nero in the living room. We can escort them from there.” Avery ran off of punctuality. It was important with his job not only as a chauffeur but also as a bodyguard.
Once the two of them were ready, Avery walked with Nic across the yard. Avery asked Nic about work and how he was finding their training. It was small talk, but it was also common ground between the two of them. Avery admired and respected Nic's work at the hospital, and the more Avery learned, the more his respect grew.
They reached the back pad, and Avery paused. Kimiko was hugging Caden, and Avery couldn’t help but admire her. She looked like the night sky, and his fire for her burned bright in his chest. He caught a flash of red and saw the back door opening. Cassiopeia walked out in a stunning red dress that had Avery looking at Nic. Avery patted Nic’s shoulder before he walked past.
”You’re going to give the man a heart attack,” he teased.
Cassiopeia smirked. ”That’s entirely the point.” Avery laughed at that before he walked inside. His eyes reclaimed Kimiko as his focus, and he smiled.

Kiki’s mouth drops open, her surprise palpable at this news before snorting at her joke. “If he doesn’t cart you away to one of the guest bedrooms, then he’s an idiot.” She says, flashing a smile when Cassi complimented her.
“Your boobs look incredible, by the way.” She tells Cassi as the two of them exit her room. Another snort leaves her at Caden calling them ‘things’, shaking her head before she hugs Caden as well. She turns her head when a familiar scent enters the room and she can’t help the nervous smile that takes over her expression. Avery looks incredibly attractive and she has half a mind to steal him away.
“Avery, I think we should skip the ceremony.” Kiki says innocently as she sidles up to him. “Caden referred to us as ‘things’.”

Nero nods briefly to Cassi’s question, not sure if they’re truly ready or not but not going to let anything stop them now. Understanding Scots more is starting to pay off more. “If they skip the ceremony, then I’m taking you back to our room.” Nero tells Caden with a mischievous smirk. They try their best to ignore the uneasiness they feel in the pit of their stomach.

Nic appreciates the time with Avery, having never really gotten the opportunity to learn more about each other without someone there. He glances over when the other man stops, following his gaze and smiling to himself, sure that things are working out better for them than they were the last time he was here.
His attention shifts when the door opens, however, and he feels like his heart’s jumped to his throat. He barely registers Avery’s pat on his shoulder, his eyes drawn to Cassi and appreciating every little detail. “Wow.” He says once she’s in earshot.

Avery stood near the door, watching Kimiko walk up to him. He took his time admiring her, grateful to have this incredible creature in his life, and relieved that she gave him a second chance. Avery raised his eyebrows at her news and wrapped Kimiko in his arms. His scent engulfed hers, and he had a brief image of picking her up and whisking her away to the bedroom. He shared this image with Kimiko.
”Did he? Want me to beat him up?”

Caden laughed. ”Not until after the ceremony, Zain. I don’t want to get blood on my shirt.” Caden looked at Nero and chuckled.
”And the same goes for you. There will be no skipping out of the ceremony.” Caden wrapped an arm securely around Nero. ”You two go on ahead with Nic and Cassi. We’ll follow,” he told Avery and Kiki. Once they left, Caden looked down at Nero.
”You’re nervous, still. Is there anything I can do to help ease that?”

”You look wow yourself,” Cassi said. She closed the distance and rested her hands on his arms. She smiled up at Nic, silent while she watched him. Her mind wandered to how much she loved this man, and how she wanted to spend the rest of time with him. Cassi lifted her hand and ran her fingers through his still-damp hair.

When he tells the pair to go on ahead, she teasingly replies, “At what point should we just assume you’ve skipped?” But she still walks out with Avery to meet with the other couple.

He places his hands on her waist and shakes his head at her reply. “You were there to see my try on this whole outfit, even if it wasn’t all at once.” He reminds her, kissing the top of her head before her fingers combed his damp hair.

Avery smirked, glancing back at Caden and Nero before he led Kiki outside. As they walked, he leaned down to whisper into Kimiko’s ear. ”Tu es magnifique, petit renard.” His hand rested comfortably on Kimiko’s hip while he held the door open and followed her outside.
Avery always found it a bit better being around Kimiko, and he was still better when he touched her in some way. The physical connection reinforced the emotional and mental bond they shared.
”Caden wants us to go on ahead. I think Nero is feeling nervous.”

Caden ran their hands back down Nero’s arms while they talked. He nodded, attempting to understand Nero’s nerves. He picked up Nero’s hands and kissed each one in turn. ”I love you, Nero. More than anything in this world. I want to be bonded to you more than I’ve ever wanted anything—and I’ve wanted a lot of things. However, if you don’t want to do this anymore, just tell me, and we’ll take the getaway car.” The last thing Caden wanted was to force Nero into something they no longer desired.

Cassi’s eyes wandered down Nic’s arms and chest. She nodded her head from side to side in agreement with Nic.
”True, but I always think you look wow, even if I’ve seen you wear something already. And today, you look even more wow.” Her eyes made their way back up to Nic’s. ”Even with the wet hair.”
Avery’s voice announced the slight change of plans. Cassi kept her attention on Nic while she answered. ”Mmm, last-minute jitters, I suppose.” She ran a hand down Nic’s arm and intertwined their fingers together.

Kiki feels Avery’s breath tickle her ear and it takes most of her resolve not to squirm or elbow Avery. “Vous aussi.” She murmurs in response, glancing at him sidelong before leaning in closer to him as the two caught up to Nic and Cassi.
“I would too if my mate referred to me as a ‘thing’.” Kiki says lightheartedly in response to Cassi. “Nic, don’t Cassi’s breasts look incredible in that dress?” She shot her ‘older sister’ a wink before turning her head to smile innocently at Avery.

Nic laughs, ears turning red from being caught. “I didn’t want to make Avery late.” He says as the wolf speaks from behind Cassi, his eyes following her hand as it ran down his arm to capture his. “I should’ve borrowed a hair dryer…” He sighs dramatically before Kiki’s comment makes his whole face turn red and nearly choke on his saliva. “Mm, yes, they do, thank you.” He says between some soft coughs as he tries to regain normal breath.
