For my idea, I feel some background on how I got the idea is in order before getting to the main idea having to do with the people turning into dragons lol.
So, sometimes I have a habit of getting into listening to those stories that show up in ads I see on social media and all. Usually they tend to be Werewolf ones (theres a LOT of ad stories that revolve around Werewolves, Alphas, their Lunas (aka Alphess), and becoming mates in general (the Werewolves are supposed to always gain their ability to shift and gain their wolf at a certain age, usually 18). And every time I see ads for these types of stories, theres a common thread that usually the Alpha rejects his mate for one reason or another, but usually its because she's 'wolfless' (aka born of werewolf blood but not able to shift). Sometimes the main female does eventually gain her wolf, just later than others, and sometimes not.
The story I was listening to was along those lines, the Alpha coming back and sensing his Fated Mate (usually involves their mate having a certain irresistible scent, like apples, forests, etc), but comes to find out shes wolfless and rejects her based on pride (this is supposed to snap the bond that they have and is very painful, physically and mentally, for the female).
Anyway, aside from that long background story, it gave me an idea for a rp like that, except instead of werewolves, it a species of people all able to transform into dragons. I'm thinking this wouldn't quite be modern, the people living in villages and such. Think old norse villages I guess for the style? Anyway, these dragon people being basically common place. Like all the characters in it are people that can shift into dragons and there are many villages (basically taking the place of humans haha). With the villages lead by an Alpha and Alphess dragon.
I would like to play the daughter of one of the Alpha and Alphess from one of the villages. But when she reaches the age when she's supposed to be able to shift into her dragon form, they all come to find out, she can't. She would of course feel shame that she can't transform. The daughter of an Alpha and Alphess? Not having a dragon? She would feel so inadequate, and not only that, but a dragonless person wouldn't be able be the next Alphess in most cases because they couldn't protect their village against other dragons. There's no law against it, but obviously an Alphess is meant to protect so that defeats the purpose unless the Alpha is strong enough to protect the village by himself.
Of course, then there's the fact that for the longest time she would think she could never have a mate either. Especially if these dragon people can just sense their mate right away and its thought that its the dragons drawn to each other that make them sense their mate when they are close and go seek them out. I can see her family meeting a bunch of Alphas and future Alphas over time for peace meetings and just general trading, and none even remotely interested (and maybe even cruel) toward her.
I'm thinking, the male character in this rp is an Alpha from one of the strongest tribes. Essentially being a tribe of great warriors that many other tribes fear. Many tribes paying tribute to this particular tribe to avoid getting into wars with them, such as jewels, food and supplies, and for new Alphas prospective females that could make a good Alphess.
For my female, her parents worried about whispers of war against their village, have contacted the Alpha to offer up their daughter to the Alpha, as their village does not have much in the way of jewels and gold, and only enough supplies to help their own survive the harsh winter approaching. They know well enough that if this exchange goes wrong, the Alpha could have their people slaughtered in a matter of minutes.
Which is what almost happens when they bring their daughter before the Alpha, had it not been for one thing. The girl just so happens to be his Fated Mate. So, he is barely able to be convinced to accept her, thus sparing the lives of her parents and people.
I'm thinking that it would be a slow burn thing with her and the Alpha falling in love and coming to find that despite being dragonless (or so they think) that she can still come to be a leader. Perhaps at first maybe their relationship is kind of like Daenerys and Drogo, in that she is at first simply thought of as his mate and someone to bring him pleasure/an heir, but not strong enough to be Alphess. Her being viewed to merely satisfy his instincts, and it kinda grows and develops to more than that as time passes.
I do have a kink list to share and if you have one you can share as well so that we can be on the same page for 18+ scenes. I'm definitely hoping for a 50/50 type of set up with spicy and plot, though it might seem more spicy at first until the two start bonding and the plot gets rolling.
