Accursed Tropes: The Last Airbender (Isekai; Fanfic Cliches infiltrating Canon, Lewascan gave me Permission)

You just died. It could be the cliche way of being hit by a truck, or you could have just fallen terminally ill. What is known is that you are a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and that’s why you were selected for this destiny.

Avatar Aang appears before you just as you are to proceed to the afterlife. He says that he has been replaced by an impostor, one born and given power by bad stories that have been told about him and his friends from your world, and thus he needs people from it to foil the impostor before the latter warps the world to his whims.  

He does not know what the Impostor is, only that someone who knows what ‘Tropes’ are has unleashed him upon the world.

Looking at your souls, the Avatar tells you that you can live again; while he does not understand the ‘narrative energies’ the Impostor uses to warp the laws of his world, he does understand reincarnation. 

So he offers you a deal: He has cracked his prison of hardened memes and materialized cliches long enough to reincarnate you to 12 to 14 years in the past, as infants with memories of your past lives and how ‘Canon’ was meant to go.

Your souls will also carry shards of his ‘Trope Prison’ with you, allowing you a small portion of the power Fake Aang uses. This will allow you to grow up with various powers and abilities that break the laws of Aang’s universe, the universe of Avatar: The Last Airbender; desperate times sometimes ask for equally desperate measures.

When you accept this, you awaken as a newborn, but realize… Now that you have your powers and memories, Real Aang, Avatar Aang, has no hold over you and saving the world is optional.

Should you still do it anyway?

What You need to Know

You, the players, are looking at a Mass-Isekai RP, as a group of reincarnated people who may or may not have forgotten, or disregarded, what Avatar Aang’s spirit said; that his world is no longer the ‘Canon’ one but rather infected by ‘Bad Fanfics’ rife with ‘exploitable tropes and fanon’. 

The tone, despite the seemingly funny premise, is meant to be serious, maybe even dark and edgy at times, because a lot of bad fanfic is generally that. The cliches and tropes have realistic consequences, and even cringe can physically hurt you. So take the world seriously and assume logical consequences if you push too hard, too early.

We are operating in a ‘partial sandbox’; you can treat it as an open world if you want, but you can also follow the main plot, which involves linking up with the others and foiling Impostor Aang. Like in Lewas’ original Accursed Tropes RP, you are given a lot more control over the world than you might expect. This means you can make and control NPCs and be the direct cause of major events (within a certain reason).

Of course, there are limits; GMs control Fire Lord Ozai, other important villains, and most named characters, but you can ask for temporary permission to control them from all three GMs (me, Lewas, Danyel).

If you do not know the Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom, don't feel afraid to join anyway. Playing a reincarnate without metaknowledge or localized savvy is perfectly viable too and adds some extra flavor to the cast. This RP concept welcomes all comers, so don't be afraid to ask questions if you need any quick or dirty lore drops to help participate.

If all that sounds like a good deal to you, here's some more details on how I hope for this to work.

1.) Cooperative storytelling comes first. Above all else, in concept, this RP is preferably more of a collaborative story than it is a proper RP. Everyone has the freedom to do their own thing, but they should at least make it interesting and be aware of how their actions might affect other players' enjoyment. At least, that's how I'd like it to work, but only time will tell.

2.) I won't tell you not to power-game within the bounds of reason, as this setting's power system is rather... flexible at the upper levels. Powerful characters will be permitted. Of course, you need to justify the growth of that power sufficiently IC, but generally speaking "overpowered" isn't a taboo concept, given the party's primary enemy. You just have to work for it, and make sure it's interesting. Be aware that the world won't just roll over for the PCs by default the way it would for a normal "bad fanfic" protagonist; while the PCs have meta-knowledge advantages, they don't innately have fate on their side. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes.

3.) Due to the interesting way I want to run this, I actually intend to give players a lot more freedom than the usual fair, even to the point of allowing limited control of NPCs. As long as they are unimportant, no-name or original entities, you largely have free reign as long as you give us a heads up first before introducing a new notable NPC. Allowing players this sort of control takes much of the burden off me having to run such a massive/expansive world. Beyond that, however, leave the results of actions open ended unless given the go-ahead otherwise. Basically, (if it comes up) no auto-hits/dodges against other players or powerful NPCs unless it's already been hashed out OOC. While you can't just go out and control or kill important figures (like Ozai, for example), to random civilians on the street or nameless OC soldier, you have permission to do whatever... within reason. I'll generally try to leave this up to participants' best judgement, but don't abuse the privilege; the power of hard retcon can and will be used to retroactively nullify anything that steps over the line.

4.) Meta-gaming is discouraged. While the OCs are (unless you choose otherwise) assumed to have at least some level of meta awareness of the Avatar: The Last Airbender setting, they shouldn't be magical mind-readers (unless they have a Trope that permits that), able to adjust themselves to dialogue they shouldn't be aware of, like thoughts or events they didn't personally witness/experience.

5.) Keep it cordial OOC. Nothing complicated.

6.) I generally expect a certain level of writing to help with immersion and legibility for fellow participants. As such, preferred post length is 2-3 multi-sentence paragraphs, but longer posts are encouraged and welcome. That said, a shorter post is better than no post at all, just as long as it moves your character along and responds appropriately to the most critical IC stimuli. At absolute minimum, however, a single multi-paragraph post should be expected to respond sufficiently. In short, avoid one-liner posts or long walls of text.

7.) GM's ruling is final, but that goes without saying. I hope to not need to exercise that much, but the biggest thing I will control wholly is what tropes and world-building the setting has been warped by. Anything that would have major or disruptive setting implications needs to go through me first before being approved.

8.) I won't make any particular posting speed requirements, as in my personal experience, the "obligation factor" can damage motivation severely. I'll simply ask participants to try to respect their fellow writers by not leaving them hanging where possible or finding a way to narratively disengage the interaction so things aren't deadlocked if you need to take a hiatus. In short, at least trying to wrap up an existing interaction, no matter how abruptly, before dipping.

9.) We, the GM Group, will accept only 9 players with one OC each; that’s our limit.

A trope as is relevant to this RP is a specific common narrative theme or occurrence, identified and isolated from the story itself. What is defined as a trope is determined by its presence in the relevant media. It's a replication of a narrative tool or warp slotted into other stories. Tropes are effectively storytelling tools, defined by how commonly they appear, sort of like a meme but in a narrative sense.

It's like "this isn't even my final form" is a trope across ridiculous amounts of fiction, expressed any time the seemingly defeated final boss (or protagonist) reveals another power/transformation under their sleeve. That's a trope.

If you read a ton of Avatar: The Last Airbender (or any fandom's) fanfics and then sat down and listed out several things you read that remained present across all -or many- of those stories, those things would likely be tropes. Like for example, Aang being a possessive, psychopathic manchild, Sokka being stupid, Katara being whiny, annoying, and hypocritical; those are tropes. Same for Multiple Avatars, Fifth Elements (and Fifth Nations), and being Zuko and Azula’s brother or sister who isn’t in canon.

You can create your own tropes, of course, but if you're struggling to understand the concept, we have examples. These have requirements and can't just be chosen like picking a new spell in a video game. Also, unlike in Lewas’ past game, you only have a limited number of slots for Tropes in Character Creation; 2 or 3. 

Not just that, but some Tropes have a limited number of players who can use them for their OCs (only one OC per player, btw!), for example, ‘Another Avatar’ is very limited).
Crystal Memory: Flexible and subjective to the series being used for the insert, this is the trope of the reincarnate/insert somehow always retaining perfect -or at least nearly so- memory of their metaknowledge and past life, unaffected by time and what should be the natural degradation of memories.
Fandom Omniscience: A specialized version of Crystal Memory that covers only Fandom stuff, not your past life memories and past skills. Rather than the author setting the insert's knowledge at a certain level and leaving it there regardless of developments outside the story to the lore, this plays out almost like the character can effectively just read/watch the manga/series/wiki in their head. If you want your OC to know about new facts revealed about the A:TLA Canon after they died, this is the Trope.
Prodigy: Pick only one Bending or Non-Bending Skill (including tech) and you are an immediate genius at it. (Unlimited, but cannot stack with Another Avatar, Daytime Bloodbender/Insert Special Bending Art Here, Fifth Element and some flavors of Crossover Powerset; Dual Element Users have to pick only one Element, and no, you cannot take this twice).
Another Avatar: You break the rule that there should only be one Avatar worse than Unalaq from the sequel series has. You can bend all Four Elements and Energybending (if taught by a Lion Turtle), the ability to enter the Avatar State, and can communicate to Spirits, who refer to you as an Avatar, implying they know something you do not. (Limited to 2 players, assuming 6 overall players, or 4 players, assuming an overall number of 9)
Airbender: You can Airbend despite not being an Air Nomad or being spiritual. (Unlimited)
Daytime Bloodbender before Korra Season 1/Combustionbending without an Eye/Lavabending before Korra Season 3/Insert Special Bending Art Here: You can bloodbend and you can do this in the daytime or combustionbend without a third eye or lavabend/metalbend/glassbend. Or if you’re an Airbender, you can fly without casting aside all attachments (Limited to 2 Players, and you cannot start with Another Avatar or Dual Element User at Character Creation. However, you can teach people with those Tropes how to use those Special Bending Arts.)
Dual Element User: You can bend two of the Four Elements of your own choice. (Unlimited, Prodigy Trope only applies to one Element).
Canon Character’s Sibling: You are Zuko and Azula’s brother or sister and you are not canon. You are Sokka and Katara’s sibling, either older or younger. You are Toph’s twin or some other sibling and not blind. This gives you limited NPC control over your new family, but they will still try and keep to their canon selves. (Player Slots are dictated by the number of Canon Characters, but you can only use 1 Trope Slot for this so you can’t make yourself related to both Zuko and Toph)
Crossover Powerset: You have a powerset from another franchise entirely like Naruto. Use with caution, and we will crack down if this is too powerful. (Unlimited Player Slots depending on the power, but uses up 2 Trope Slots at Character Creation and can only be taken one more time during the RP itself).
Fifth Element: You can bend a Fifth, Uncanonical Element such as Death, Light, Darkness, Animals, or Human Minds. (One Trope Slot per player, also, you cannot have Prodigy, Another Avatar, Crossover Powerset, or any other Trope that affects powers)
Fifth Nation before Korra S1: Your very existence has made a Fifth Nation appear in the world. Avatar Aang is shocked that he has accidentally given you such power. However, you do not get a leadership position in this nation; you are a commoner. (Limited to 1 Player; uses up all 3 Trope Slots. Subject to GM Veto, as well as the Veto of Other Players.)
Existing Nation History Rewrite: You can rewrite an existing nation’s History. Completely. Avatar Aang is shocked that he has accidentally given you such power. However, you do not get a leadership position in this nation; you are a commoner.  (Limited to 1 Player; uses up all 3 Trope Slots. Subject to GM Veto, as well as the Veto of Other Players.)

As far as character sheets go, these may start off fairly basic, but they should be expected to be updated many times as things progress, accounting for any developments to the characters brought about by the IC. I've done my best to cover what should be necessary without bogging things down, but if there's anything in this template you think I've missed that would be particularly important, let me know. I'm open to potential improvements.

Name: The name they were given upon their rebirth (though, you can include their past name too).
Titles: Includes any nicknames they acquire due to their actions, along with their social rank (Royal, Noble, Commoner, etc).
Gender: Self-explanatory.
Age: Self-explanatory. Starts at 0. Update as needed.
Affiliation: List out any factions they might be a part of (Nation, Settlement, Organization).
Physical Description: You can stick with something basic if you like. An image header is an acceptable substitute for this section. There's no particular need to match an image to their age starting out; you can use a FC that depicts how they will most likely grow up too.

Personality: Self-explanatory, but as a guideline? Try the Kakashi method. Likes, dislikes and dreams for the future. It doesn't have to be in-depth, but at least provide a basic grasp of who the character is. Fair warning, Real Aang has seen everything about your lives before reincarnation, and in the pursuit of not actively making the world worse, he will not provide this rebirth opportunity to anyone that would abuse it and his world for unrepentant evil (although he has not anticipated that you would be able to create Fifth Nations or Rewrite Existing Ones. Basically, no effectively Chaotic Evil alignments.

Short Biography: This can be as basic as you like, but it should effectively be a short, clear summary of who the character was in their past mundane life. And it should mention what circumstances they've been reborn into in this new world and life. It should also mention briefly how familiar the PC was with the Avatar: The Last Airbender world/series prior to being reborn.

Inventory: What possessions are important to your character? This can include what they have on them and what they simply have available as an easy asset at home or the like. Most likely starts empty. This would include any weapons, bending scrolls, tools or other materials they have of particular note.
Holder:

Skills: Both Bending and Non-Bending, update this growing arsenal as needed. You can include skills from your past life, which may potentially provide unique advantages; though, naturally, those skills should be entirely mundane, since your past life lacked any supernatural aspects.
Holder:

Tropes: These are special advantages, unique to this world. They are notably distinct from regular skills and are more like "inherent advantages" or "cheats". It encompasses the act of taking advantage of the warps in reality known as "fanfic tropes". When you have successfully done so, a trope should be added to the list you have acquired. You have three tropes under your belt right out the gate, depending on your circumstances.

Bending/Crossover Power: Are you a Bender? If so, what Element(s)? If you have a Crossover Power, list it here too.

Current Goals: Pretty straight-forward. What sort of things are they planning to do with their new life? Optional, but a nice thing to have perhaps; it can help sort of plot out your character's path.

Extra: Any bonus trivia you feel it might be neat to include could go here in this totally optional section. If you have any music you used as inspiration for character creation or other tunes that serve as themes for them, feel free to include them too.

(This next section may be subject to change, as I'm still trying to strike a particular balance of progression that hopefully avoids any real focus on "stats" or anything really "gamer-adjacent". So, I might not be fully happy with this yet.)

Unlike in the past RP, you guys can try and ‘game’ the Character Creation process to get an advantage, but you still start out as a baby for the first round. To avoid a long period of weakness, we will then skip to when you are all teenagers, but you will be allowed to write out how you influenced the world as you grew up.

As newborn infants, lacking fine control of their bodies or speech, you have very little control in all aspects of your lives, unable to influence the world around you in any meaningful way. There's not much to do except focus inward for the first round of posts. 

After that, once you have all grown up… You can train and grow and acquire Tropes if needed.

Affiliation: Reincarnate Alliance, Enormeeta, Earth Kingdom
Physical Description: Coal-black hair and blue eyes, along with a surprisingly smooth and pale complexion in spite of her active, sunny lifestyle. Hair grows to hang straight and be kept roughly chin-length, and she starts to blossom into a rather shapely figure. Under other circumstances, she could perhaps even be defined as a "jade beauty", a somewhat humorous coincidence in light of the meaning of her name. Will likely peak at 5’5-7” in height at adulthood. The secret to her smooth complexion is, in fact, the slow, subtle regeneration effect of her otherwise dormant magic when not transformed, preventing her from being permanently scarred or marred in any meaningful way. Even while dirtied and tired, she is an effortless, unnatural beauty.

Personality: A proud girl with bold ambitions, Yu has decided to take this new life by the reins and build herself the sort of future she's always dreamed of. A glory-seeker and battle junkie, she seeks thrills, adventure and power with an unending thirst, yet retains a sense of self-preservation. At her core, she is a girl of ego, and yet, that ego is channeled more into self-improvement now than it is arrogance. She charges from the front as often as she hangs back with a calculating glint in her eyes. Dream: Immortality... probably. Before, she lived day to day and hobby to hobby, never quite sure where she wanted to end up at the end of it all. She just knew she wanted to be happy in the end. So, maybe if she can just give herself endless time to figure things out, the answer will be revealed to her. In the meantime, she'd like to go on an adventure and truly enjoy her isekai, to explore magic and bending and all the wild twists the future has in store. And at the end of it all? Perhaps she'd like to leave a legacy worth admiring.


Short Biography: She never had much in the way of grand ambitions in her past life. She'd worked a number of minor, mediocre jobs but never really found a true calling in life. One could perhaps call her a drifter, a jack of several trades, master of none, who preferred to indulge online hobbies. Her flighty attitude led her to never want to settle for one thing and fully commit out of a professed desire to "not spend her life on something she wouldn't enjoy". Yet, in the end, she could never find that one thing that sparked her interest and so languished in mediocrity. The things she was truly passionate about didn't make enough money to truly live on or were locked behind time and experience requirements she wasn't able to provide, and she came to believe somewhere in her heart that -in many ways- she was simply born in the wrong era. She was adrift and aimless, struggling to find a path and growing more concerned and downtrodden the longer it evaded her.

The beginnings of depression and hopelessness were beginning to creep in by the time she met her untimely demise and was brought before Aang. And in that moment, she realized that this was something of a dream come true. An isekai to a world in need of saving? Cheat powers? A second chance to truly make something of herself? It was everything she could have ever wanted. Better still, she was fairly familiar with Avatar: TLA; it was a series she had watched to completion in the past, and although her memories were a bit rusty now... that was nothing one of the offered cheat powers couldn't fix. And so, she grabbed onto the opportunity with both hands and leapt into the deep end without hesitation.

In her new life, she has found herself reborn behind the towering, secure walls of Ba Sing Se, capital of the Earth Kingdom, at her own request. Born to a humble, civilian family, she now avails herself of security in obscurity, as she plays the part of the everyday girl on the one hand... whilst donning a magical alter ego in her secret quests beyond the walls on the other.

Inventory:
Evil Transformation Star: The magical device used to most easily transform into her dark magical girl form. Technically, it can be done without through training or enough heightened emotions, but it still remains an invaluable tool and set of training wheels for the purposes of getting familiar with her magical powers. When not in use, she can hide it away inside a pocket of storage magic, preventing it from being lost or stolen.


Skills:
Languages - English and Japanese:
Having a language that (presumably) doesn't exist in this new world allows her the advantage of making unique coded messages that (among other things) would only be immediately legible to other PCs or those she educates. Having learned Japanese, she can potentially hold conversations that wouldn't be understood by anyone but another multilingual PC.
Calligraphy:
While her dexterity has naturally temporarily suffered due to her age and physical abilities, writing was her passion in her past life, and while most of that was done using keyboards, learning Japanese correctly required a steady hand to depict kanji and hiragana. She is therefore a deft, practiced hand with articulating delicate linguistics.
Poker Face/Acting/Manipulation:
A result of roleplaying and being in many customer service industries in her life, when she actually tries, she is an able manipulator and deceiver, having even been told in her past life she was "quite the negotiator". Concealing her true feelings is second nature to her, and "playing a part" is something she can slip into like putting on her favorite shoes, wearing whatever face she needs to in order to get what she wants. And right now? Well, the part she's supposed to be playing is that of one of this world's saviors, she supposes.
Martial Arts: At one point, due to increasing disillusionment with cerebral pursuits, she pursued Tae-Kwon-Do and generally found it to her liking, enjoying the feeling of self-improvement and the ability to vent her burgeoning battle junkie tendencies under controlled conditions. Owing to her nature as a drifter, however, she advanced decently high but never committed enough to reach black belt, bowing out before the finish line. Despite this, she got far enough to successfully attain an instinct for the "flow of battle" as well as largely ridding herself of the burden of hesitation inflicted by a peaceful society. As a result, if she were ever to get into a real fight, especially one of life and death, she would immediately resort to ruthlessly efficient violence, rather than freezing or cowering like the average civilian.
Medieval Tactics: While she was not all that interested in the trappings and finer details of modern weaponry most of the time, she could conversely be described a bit of an otaku when it came to using more archaic or fantasy methods of waging war. Though, she was not much of a wargamer, she consumed much media on the subjects, drawing knowledge from such literature as Lord of the Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire, along with certain roleplaying games. While this does not necessarily translate perfectly, it gives her a strong leg up and makes her an able leader of massed armed forces if provided the opportunity.


Tropes:
Crossover Power - MahoAko Magic (Dark): You have access to the MahoAko magic system, specifically the side of it used by the villains, allowing you to become a dark magical girl (and gradually grow into all the powers that entails) and access your very own interdimensional evil fortress that seems to be a replica of the infamous Nacht Base. Truly, the perfect powerset to rule save the world with.
Crystal Memory: Flexible and subjective to the series being used for the insert, this is the trope of the reincarnate/insert somehow always retaining perfect -or at least nearly so- memory of their metaknowledge and past life, unaffected by time and what should be the natural degradation of memories.


Bending/Crossover Power:
Earthbending: Born in the heart of the Earth Kingdom, you were born with the capacity for Earthbending.
Dark Magical Girl (MahoAko): She possesses the ability to summon and use an Evil Transformation Star, allowing her to awaken her magical potential for the "Power of Feelings" and take the form of dark knight villainess. The transformation device grants powers and an outfit unique to whoever uses it, and Yu's powers tend towards a theme of "Volcano". Her magic also allows her to use a number of omni-magics that anyone of her magical girl type has access to, and the magic typically comes to her very intuitively. The transformation device also grants her the ability to make portals to an interdimensional pocket, where a dark fortress and its resources lie waiting... mysteriously barren of any other signs of ownership.


Current Goals:
Short Term: Gain greater agency, acquire and train new powers, reconnect with other inserts, have good fights.
Long Term: Save the world, become a Legend, live the life she's always dreamed about to the fullest.

His hair is relatively short, growing roughly two-thirds of the way down the neck with long bangs covering his eyes and he eventually grows into a perfectly-shaped lean, muscular build. Peak adult height will most likely be within the range of 6’-6’4. Will maintain youthful attractive features throughout his life.

Personality: A rough-and-tumble kind of guy with a penchant for spontaneity, Yang has taken to his new role in this life with his usual intensity towards everything he attempts. A natural-born fighter, he seeks nothing more than to improve himself without restriction and completely lacks any sense of limits. While possessed of a great drive for conflict to test his strength, he is a generally pleasant person to be around. At his core, Lì Yang is far more than just a simple battle junkie. Analytic and intelligent beyond his seemingly over-expressive countenance, he is equal parts showman and brutally efficient. Despite his often excessive actions and mannerisms, he does strive to create a better future than the one the world is heading towards.

Short Biography: The one who would eventually be known as Lì Yang was a born and raised martial artist. A championship title holder from a young age, fighting had been his lifeblood ever since his talent was discovered by his foster parents. It was an honour very few could claim for themselves, and even amongst them, he alone stood out. Despite all the pressure such a status carried, he never once faltered in his endeavour to become the greatest, tackling every challenge that came his way with gusto. And yet, behind all the cheers and adoration, he wasn’t truly fulfilled, his heart filled with a yearning for something he could never find the words to describe. Martial arts were his passion, but he found himself questioning his thoughts constantly, searching for an answer to a question he could scarcely begin to comprehend. His passion burned as fiercely as always in his every moment, but that nagging feeling never left him no matter what he did.

The feelings had just been starting to fade when he met his untimely demise. The exact series of events that led him to that moment were blurry, but at the end of it all, he found himself face-to-face with an impossible sight; Avatar Aang. To say that he was stunned would be an understatement. What came after was even more of a surprise, if a somewhat pleasant one. A world in need of saving? Powers akin to cheats in that world? And more than anything, a second chance to reach his ultimate goal, and perhaps discover that which had left him troubled for so long? It was a gift greater than any he’d ever received. And, as an avid fan of Avatar: TLA, he was more than ready to take on the task. It was a given, then, that he took the chance without a second’s hesitation

In his new life, he finds himself within the heart of a grand empire, a citizen of the great and terrible Fire Nation, at his own behest. After all, what better way to prepare for a tough battle than to start in the most difficult of areas? No other reason involved....

Martial Prodigy: The product of his previous life, he is naturally adept at multiple forms of martial arts, both armed and unarmed. His martial prowess is such that he is able to easily learn techniques after seeing them in action and almost completely master and even improve upon them after a brief period of practice. Furthering this, he can analyse and instinctively replicate the fighting styles of anyone he meets after only a single encounter. Even in the case of weaponry, his skill remains unmatched, as he can quickly learn and master the use of any weapon he gets his hands on.
Multilingual: Along with his mother tongue of Japanese, he has had to learn several languages in order to excel in his profession. He is fluent in Mandarin and English, as well as Italian.
Acrobatics: Agility and flexibility play a major part in several of his fighting styles, and as such he has trained his natural talents extensively in those areas, attaining a high level of agility. That goes even more so in this life.
Analytical/Intuition: The culmination of his past life experiences; his ability to analyse and understand what is put before him is exceptional. Seeing through people’s words and feints to determine their intentions, recognising patterns to predict what comes next, and learning things at a rapid rate; all are second nature to him at this point. His intuition is good enough to recognise danger before his consciousness even realises it exists.
Medicine: Breaking things came naturally to him, so it seemed only natural that the opposite would be difficult. Of course, such a thing wouldn’t stop him even if it were true, and so he learnt how to fix things as well, particularly people. It was a helpful skill to have in his profession, and he even volunteered in hospitals to further improve his skills. While not quite on the level of a professional, he is a cut above the average amateur practitioner and very capable of both first-aid and further treatment.

Crossover Power - Adaptive Ability (OPM): You possess the ability to grow stronger through trial. The harder the trial, the greater the gain, as long as you survive the ordeal, that is. The more and harder the adversity you face, the faster your growth accelerates. The perfect power for one willing to go through absolute hell in the pursuit of power.
Crystal Memory: Flexible and subjective to the series being used for the insert, this is the trope of the reincarnate/insert somehow always retaining perfect -or at least nearly so- memory of their metaknowledge and past life, unaffected by time and what should be the natural degradation of memories.

Adaptive Ability (OPM): Yang possesses a body that grows stronger in response to adversity, allowing him to dynamically learn from experiences and eventually overcome them. This ability gifts him great strength and resilience that grows ever more when faced with danger. Leading up to their births there was a giant storm, one not seen in the South Pole for ages, if at all. Kya was nervous about giving birth to them in those conditions, but Yuka wasn't giving her a choice. He was ready to enter the world and the world was trying to make itself ready for him. Yuka was born first and instead of crying he entered the world with the closest thing to a giggle he could muster. That alone freaked out everyone involved in the birthing process, but what happened next really left them floored. As if responding to the child's laughter and their birth, the storm outside ceased, the wind calmed, and the snow fell peacefully to the floor. It was clear then that this child was special and would need to be protected. The spirit world sent them a blessing. Sokka's birth was a lot easier and Hakoda and Kya officially welcomed their twins. Word spread to the different tribal villages that the Hope of the Southern Water Tribe was found. They didn't know that Yuka was the Avatar at first. They just assumed he was a powerful bender connected to the spirits, initially dubbing him Silla. It wasn't until the Chief Elders got together that they suggested he was the Avatar and it was the duty of all the Southern Water Tribes to unite once again to protect this bundle of hope for their Tribe and the World.

Yuka was surprised by how fast things were changing with his presence already. His birth jumpstarted the Southern Reconstruction Project about a decade and a half early. What else could happen with this change? Will he be able to save his new mom, Kya? Or will he make things ultimately worse for the Southern Water Tribe?

°Silla's Spear: A spear that manifested into world of Avatar when Yuka was isekai'd. It became part of the world's history as a spear passed down in Hakoda's family from its original bearer, a godlike warrior and one of the first water Avatars. He trained more with a bo staff than a spear in his past life so Yuka mostly uses it like one.

Skills: Both Bending and Non-Bending, update this growing arsenal as needed. You can include skills from your past life, which may potentially provide unique advantages; though, naturally, those skills should be entirely mundane, since your past life lacked any supernatural aspects.
°Martial Arts: In his past life he self-taught himself martial arts so he isn't the best coming out of the gate, but he's pretty good, having actually sparred with people before coming to this world. He mixes quite a number of martial arts.
°Weapon Proficiency: Taught himself how to use weapons like staffs, swords, bows, and guns. Still not a master of any of these, but he's better than your average.
°Muscle Memory(non-comic): In Yuka's past life he had the ability to remember and mimic the things he saw, but limited to what his body was capable of. Just because he could see the perfect split, doesn't mean he could recreate it. He still needed that flexibility. He was also limited by his own doubts about what his body was capable of. He doesn't have those doubts in this world.

👀 Let the Power Twins reign! It was already bad enough that Sokka ended up being twins with the Avatar, but now he's the only nonbending sibling out of 4. I like it. It'll push him to train even harder and grow stronger earlier on to prove to himself and the world that nonbenders can be just as strong, if not better than benders. I can see him creating the Jeet-kune-do of this world. Mixing different bending and nonbending fighting styles together. Maybe even awakening his Chi somehow in a way similar to Rock Lee from Naruto if the GMs allow.

Short Biography: Siku was born into the Southern Water Tribe, as Katara’s twin brother. A family having one set of twins was rare, but two? That was just unheard of.

From the moment they could crawl, he and Katara were inseparable. They shared everything. Their first words, their first steps, their first laughter. And when Katara discovered she could bend water, so did Siku.

But Siku wasn’t just a Waterbender, he was a prodigy. From the moment he touched water, he understood it. He instinctively bent water as if he had done it in another lifetime. While Katara struggled at first, Siku helped her. He learned quickly, but he never bragged.

Instead, he focused on healing. While Katara wanted to master combat, Siku was drawn to soothing wounds, mending bones, and calming spirits. When Sokka scraped his knees, Siku healed them. When a hunter injured his arm, Siku fixed it. When Katara had nightmares of fire, Siku was there to comfort her.

His talent became too obvious to hide.

Word spread to the different tribal villages that the Hope of the Southern Water Tribe was found. They didn't know that Yuka was the Avatar at first. They just assumed he was a powerful bender connected to the spirits, initially dubbing him Silla. It wasn't until the Chief Elders got together that they suggested he was the Avatar and it was the duty of all the Southern Water Tribes to unite once again to protect this bundle of hope for their Tribe and the World.

Yuka was surprised by how fast things were changing with his presence already. His birth jumpstarted the Southern Reconstruction Project about a decade and a half early. What else could happen with this change? Will he be able to save his new mom, Kya? Or will he make things ultimately worse for the Southern Water Tribe?

°Silla's Spear: A spear that manifested into world of Avatar when Yuka was isekai'd. It became part of the world's history as a spear passed down in Hakoda's family from its original bearer, a godlike warrior and one of the first water Avatars. He trained more with a bo staff than a spear in his past life so Yuka mostly uses it like one.

Skills: Both Bending and Non-Bending, update this growing arsenal as needed. You can include skills from your past life, which may potentially provide unique advantages; though, naturally, those skills should be entirely mundane, since your past life lacked any supernatural aspects.
°Martial Arts: In his past life he self-taught himself martial arts so he isn't the best coming out of the gate, but he's pretty good, having actually sparred with people before coming to this world. He mixes quite a number of martial arts.
°Weapon Proficiency: Taught himself how to use weapons like staffs, swords, bows, and guns. Still not a master of any of these, but he's better than your average.
°Muscle Memory(non-comic): In Yuka's past life he had the ability to remember and mimic the things he saw, but limited to what his body was capable of. Just because he could see the perfect split, doesn't mean he could recreate it. He still needed that flexibility. He was also limited by his own doubts about what his body was capable of. He doesn't have those doubts in this world.
°Storyteller: Yuka knows how to tell great stories, whether they're made up or real. He can use this to his advantage when he needs to travel in secret as the Avatar.
°Detective: In his past life Yuka prided himself on his deduction and guessing ability.
°Creativity: Yuka's super creative and uses that creativity to come up with new fighting and bending techniques.

Declaring my interest with Yuka, the Avatar the world didn't know it needed! He's also the twin brother of Sokka because I feel like that leaves room for some interesting changes and developments for the siblings and the Southern Water Tribe before the start of the story.@King Kindred

Finished Yuka! I have some things planned before the start of the canon story, but I decided to wait to add those until the timeskip. Unless we do a 10 year timeskip before the main one.

Personality: In his past life there was never a dream too big or a world too far for Yuka. But because of this he tended to spend most of his time in these other worlds than making something substantial of his own. With dreams and aspirations that were endless he never found the "time" or "resources" to accomplish anything. Though, he was truly held back by a fear of success or things not living up to his grand expectations. Despite this he still was able to enjoy the life that he had even if it felt mundane and repetitive at times. Basically he was a perfect target for Truck-Kun, a person brimming with wasted potential. He plans to do things differently in this new world. Always feeling like he was meant for bigger and greater he's going to apply that theory to practice by becoming the hero of this story and world.

°Likes: Food(the man is a foodie), family and friends, sparring and training, pushing his limits, nature and exploring it, reading and writing and watching movies(though he's unable to do that in this era), defeating evil, brainstorming, creating stories, playing video games and games in general(kinda competitive)

Short Biography: Yuka had so many ideas and goals in his past life that he was essentially frozen as the world passed by around him. Unable to decide on how things would or should start he found it easier to just build these universes in his head instead of seeing them through in reality. This ranged from films and series to book series to whole comic multiverses. He escaped into these realities as well as the realities provided for him through the media he consumed, finding the different ideas and worlds so exciting, and honestly more exciting than his actual life. This led to him becoming interested in martial arts and other things that would help him prepare to live in a world like them, just in case his world became like one. Towards the end of his life he often joked about if Truck-Kun was real he'd be one of his targets. As if testing fate or summoning the blood-thirsty vehicle itself, Yuka was struck by a truck, clinging onto his staff as his life faded. When he died he wasn't sure if he had actually manifested that reality or if he was in some weird coma dream. He decided not to overthink for the first time in his life and just accepted it.

As one of the co-GMs here though, a couple things:

Mainly relating to your character’s backstory, the insertion itself doesn’t actually cause any retroactive or inherent historical changes, like the manifestation of a legendary weapon of an original Avatar. Changing history that way for a nation/the world is actually considered a trope and thus costs trope points to employ.

Secondly, for your background, most of it should be focused on the character’s past life, as the IC will begin with posts at the infant year(s), so very little is actually set in stone past birth until described IC. Keep in mind, your OC and their butterflies do not exist in a vacuum, and there are other OCs out there likely out to plot their own butterflies on history. Thus, it’s best to not actually describe much beyond the circumstances of the OC’s birth at most for now and basically set their starting line.

If you want to actually cause pre-birth historical changes though, that would require starting trope points, the amount depending on how drastic the changes you desire, and keep in mind, this may ultimately be vetoed if those changes are too disruptive.

Oh, I didn't know about the weapon thing. It was just meant to be a basic weapon that was actually his staff transferred over to the next world, but that makes sense that it'd be considered a trope. I'll take it out and he can just get a random one later.

For his background the reincarnated life stuff I put was within week 1 since his birth would've been seen as a big event.
