Retracted after reading NewSun's sheet.

So other than my character, are there any other enchanters? If so that's cool, I just want to make sure we're different enough.

Yeah, my post on the first page stated my intent, but if you just have some enchanted items, that doesn't necessarily make you an enchanter so there's no real conflict there :)

I'm fine with having a magical being or two in the party, but the character I'll be playing will essentially be a guide like wizard character who's purpose will be to push the plot forward.
Oh and I'll be playing villains too. Anyone interested in playing the otherside, PM me.

The edits add a lot of reading to this post, don't be afraid, I know people love text walls
Edit::

Here is the Race, and specific character that I mentioned. Might get other people's creative juices flowing.

EDIT 2.0 ::
Here is a combined location/faction sheet.

Eeha Cathur & Fola Shlua

Essential Information
Location: Nestled atop Olc Cairn sits a city almost as old as the mountains themselves. Whilst not on a peak of the mountains, the city of Eeha Cathur sits far above the shores of the Encircling Ocean and only nary few treacherous paths exist to reach it.

Purpose: Currently serves as the home of the Fola Shlua.

History: Eeha Cathur has its origins in the very earliest days of Enduwin as a land without gods. When life began to become more self-aware and the various races of Enduwin came into their own, the Olc Cairn, or Black Mountains in the common tongue, were surprisingly one of the first places settled.
So long as there have been humans, elves, orcs, dwarves and every other kind of creature, there have been those with a perverted attraction to power and evil. There is no greater symbol of hatred or malice in all of Enduwin the Olc Cairn, and as such the mist covered crags attracted malcontents and miscreants from all over the land.

Initially the area where Eeha Cathur sits was dotted with habitations little more than villages, outposts from whish raiders struck the plains and shadowing nooks where criminals hid from those pursuing them. Over time, crime began to pay and many tradesmen took notice, realising the potential of wealth being hoarding between the mountains spurs. These factors attracted more people, a wider range of people from all across Enduwin. Within decades what had once been dozens of unconnected bandit camps and smuggler’s dens became a thriving village that in turn developed into a bustling stone built city. No matter how many others have inhabited the area, regardless of how long has passed, Eeha Cathur still retains its dark roots, and to this day is a haven to criminals and death worshippers alike.

The Fola Shlua is a new iteration of an ancient sect that was born in the mountains along with the beginnings of Eeha Cathur. The city and the Shlua are synonymous to most people outside the city, and within its walls only the prudish citizens care to point out the difference. The Shlua occupy almost every key position in the city; councilmen, merchants and soldiers alike. The Fola Shlua is based around the key tenet that death can be circumvented. Many people beyond the mountains derogatorily refer to them as ‘necromancers’, ‘necros’ and ‘deathies’.

For hundreds of years the Shlua were an open active organisation mostly consisting of the bandits and sellswords that lived in early Eeha Cathur. Death was a part of everyday life for these people and they become absorbed with the concept of preventing it. No records remaining that name a propagator or point of origin for what has become a religion, but there are accounts of figures spreading the word through the mountains, these men were known as Crea. Over time as more ‘civilised’ people came to settle the mountains, in search of a piece of its fortunes, the ways of the Fola Shlua faded. Worship of other deities and belief in nothing began to seep in and take over, yet there was always a noticeable percentage of those living in Eeha Cathur who believed in the immortal promises of the Crea.

It was about two centuries ago, although the precise date, like much to do with the Fola Shlua is a little ambiguous, a new Crea arose in Eeha Cathur. An elf, by the name of Sachras began to gain a following, small at first as he whispered word of everlasting life and sowed seeds of belief once more. In the decades the followed, the Fola came to the fore once more, extending its tendril like grasp over many influential figures in the mountain society. Sachras was a proactive thinking man and understood that preaching and promises wouldn’t be enough. He began manipulating the Shlua as he saw fit, and hoarded the gold used as indulgences. This new Fola Shlua was much more organised and posed a far greater danger than any iteration before it.

It has been three decades since Sachras passed. Now the Fola Shlua is led by numerous Crea of varying power and influence. Some continue to preach the assurance of living forever, but others manipulate their followers like the very earliest settlers of the Olc Cairn, employing them as sellswords and bandits.

Optional Information
Key Members: There are currently several dozen Crea throughout the mountains each considering themselves to be a key figure.

Advantages: The Fola Shlua have one of the largest collections of knowledge on the subject of death. The Crea who lead their congregations in a warlike fashion are known to be brutal and intelligent.

Disadvantages: There is incredible stigma surrounding the Shlua and Eeha Cathur throughout the rest of Enduwin.

Ranks: Each Crea tends to organise their followers differently.

Well gunpowder is ideally 1500's-tier, so it wouldn't be anything more than early flintlocks and matchlocks.

I can accept it as being a 'thing' for a particular faction.

Would it be in any way useful to make a faction sheet for the Winter Knights mentioned in my CS, or is it an optional extra if you want to add more fluff to a backstory?

First: Don't use Gandalf as an example of an all powerful wizard. My mom and I have this argument all the time. He is a lucky old man that likes to get too high and run off on fact finding missions. He isn't powerful. Sorry. That had to get out.

Second: Yes please.

Third: You said dragon. I'm running with it.

Fourth: I don't know if there is a fourth but it is there. Oh right. May I have a second character? Until you say no, I'm planning it as a yes.

I'll mock up a couple character sheets and send them to you shortly.

UPDATE: One sheet down and posted. I will make a dragon shortly. I feel like it is going to do a lot sleeping and sheep eating. The volcanic island seems like a great place for it to sleep. Ideas, ideas.

So, SharkDarkmatter, any ideas where we will need to start our characters geographically to make the group coming together work a little smoother? Or do we just start anywhere and work independently until we're lucky enough to encounter each other? Or (sorry, so many questions) will there be specialised introductions for each character giving them something to start with?

Character Sheet

Essential Information

Name/Aliases: Vrikdarok / Lord
Sex: Male
Race: Olc Cairn Mountain Orc
Age: 30 (In Human years)

Appearance: Marred with scars from battle, the iron-hued Orc stands as tall as the mountains he was spat from. Each hand is tipped with jagged nails that are cracked and as broken as the rocks they crumble to dust. Like most of the Olc Cairn orcs, his body ripples with strength. Pools of crimson rage peer from deep sockets, deepened further by high cheekbones that plunge to a strong, slightly rounded jaw. Bone shattering tusks protrude from an extended lower jaw and come to rounded points at either side of a broad nose with large nostrils. A trio of deep scars, trophies from breaking his steed, stretch from the upper right side of his forehead to the lower part of his left cheek and upper left quadrant of his chest, distinguishing his commitment to having the meanest, most battle ready creature at his side.

Coarse black hair, tied back and grappled by a leather thong, hangs low on his back.

Personality: Born in the Black Mountains, Vrikdarok is as cold and rough as the land he inhabits. He does not speak kind words. He issues orders to subordinates and laughs at the weaknesses of the other races. Unlike other orcs, the Olc Cairn Mountain Orcs do not have a rich history or intricate hierarchy of power. He speaks and others listen. Arrogance is a trait this orc revels in. Born to battle, Vrikdarok knows death and pestilence.

History: His birth shattered his mother's heart, killing her on his exit. His father, controller and lord of the Black Mountain Orcs, died by his hand when Vrikdarok came of age and was trained well enough to usurp power from his father. The head of the former lord was displayed for a full summer at Vish'Kar's entrance (Black Mountain Orc Keep).

At the head of standing army of nearly twenty thousand troops, Vrikdarok has ruled with cruelty and a system of rewards. What one kills, one attains. If a fellow orc kills another in battle, the fallen's possessions, including mate and homestead, become the victor's property.

The Black Mountain Orcs exist to bring Dúv's rage to the rest of Enduwin. They raid, rape and pillage with the ferocity of wild animals and cunning of the most educated elves.

Optional Information

Equipment: The mines of Vish'Kar produce strong iron and steel. Vrikdarok is clad in it from head to toe. His helmet's horns were harvested from the claws of a mammoth Black Mountain wolf. It is closed face and forged to resemble a snarling wolf's visage. The rest of his armor follows suit. Spiked pauldrons, bracers, and jointed gauntlets with one inch spikes at the knuckles. Leg plates and iron greaves coat his lower half.

He is well versed with a battle axe, bow, and sword and board.

A thick cape, refined from the hide of a mountain wolf, covers his back and falls just short of his heel. The head of the wolf that it was taken from is still attached to the cape.

He rides an enormous mountain wolf with fur as dark as the hair that dons Vrikdarok's head.

Faction (If any): Black Mountain Orcs
Marital Status: None
Magic (Mundane or Arcane): Mundane
Skills: He forged his own armor.

Faction/Organization Sheet

Essential Information

Name: Black Mountain Orcs
Location: Olc Cairn Mountains
Purpose: Greed

History: The Black Mountain Orcs have existed as long as the men that try to slay them. They were spawned from the wrath of Dúv when he split the earth and tore the landscape asunder. They have spread the chaos of Olc Cairn to the rest of Enduwin ever since. They do not have a divine purpose and do not strive to take over the rest of the land. If they love anything, it is Vish'Kar and Olc Cairn.

Optional Information

Advantages: The number of orcs that are solidified under Vrikdarok's rule have forced the rest of Enduwin to realize that they are more than a nuisance. More suitably stated, they are a plague of terrible power that has cut a scar into the otherwise beautiful face of Enduwin's land and refuse to be driven back to Dúv's paradise, Ifreann.

Disadvantages: The devout nature of their loyalty provides a single minded approach to any situation. While the individual commanders interpret the meaning of Vrikdarok's words, few have spoken out against his methods and retained their head.

Rules/Laws: OBEY THE LORD!

Note: 20,000 sounds op. I get that. But I have no intention of playing it like that. An army less than 20,000 is a gathering and not an army though.

@NewSun it'll all come together so don't worry.

@inspector you're first character is accepted. Welcome aboard.

And on a side note, no Gandalf is not some old man. He is a Maia, an immortal spirit sent with four Others to combat sauron. Here see this http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maia_(Middle-earth)

Gandalf features to some extent in all five main middle earth books which far far far outreach the extent of the films. I hope you're judging this based on the films because if you've read the books and think he's even remotely human, you need to read it again.

Now let's stop bickering and be friends forever :)
