Mauk Tu strolled around the corridors of the space station as merrily as a robot could, enjoying not only the multitude of beep boops from his fellow computer companions, but also the friendly chatter of the other occupants made out of flesh and blood rather then metal and silicon, or his Mauk's case many more advanced polymers and other materials. Not that he clamed superiority, he was just blessed with parts that allowed him to better help those in need., be it man or machine. So far everything seemed to check out all right. No abnormal levels of stress evident on any of the people's faces. He's wasn't an official guard on the station, but he wanted to be there if something did go wrong. This area occasionally had some run-ins with less then savory individuals, so one had to always be diligent when out on patrol.

"Ohhh! Look at that cool robot!" A little earthling boy exclaimed in amazement, tapping on his flexible blue metal armor on his thigh. It made hollow clanking sounds, revealing that he wasn't solid matter, but was instead hollowed out inside with lots of wires, pistons, and other objects running through it. The boy oohed and awed as he examined his armor from every which way. His happiness made the AI deep inside Mauk feel happy as well. He couldn't explain it, but for some reason he was blessed with the gift of feeling emotions. He had them so he had to put them to good use one way or another.

"Western area is secure, sir!" He said, playing along like this kid was his commander. He saluted with his left hand, and with his right he had his arm bent upwards at the elbow to point his arm canon towards the ceiling at the "ready" position. The kid's face brightened up at this, his day officially made. The boy pointed eagerly down the hallway. "Go that way, Mr. Robot! The evil forces of the Zorg may strike at a moment's notice!"

"Yes sir!" Mauk replied, storming down the hallway, his sleek metal form and powerful machinery allowing him to cut through the air, which was being artificially pumped through the station, like a knife. He slowed back down to a steady pace once he turned the corner and got out of sight. He didn't want to accidentally run into someone at that speed, after all. Kids were always so interesting. He didn't know his true meaning in life, but he at least knew that kids should be protected. He continued hearing in his eastward direction to scan the rest of the ship for danger, and if nothing showed up then he'd leave for someone else.

Rocky's cruiser edged its way above the station carefully. The station wouldn't have much of a radar, as it was just a civilian station, orbiting another star in the galaxy. His cruiser was a Mk. 1 Turtle Cruiser, named for being slow, but very tough in battle. It only fit one person and could use a bit more storage, but it was home. Soon he began to get his EVA gear on, he began strapping his space suit on, the armor and suit making it a tight fit. Adjusting the meters on the suit he picked up his helmet, it slid into the required spot with ease, and then a nice 'Shunk' sound was heard as it fastened to the rest of the suit. Grabbing an air tank and fastening it to his suit Rocky felt a great breath of fresh air as he began being fed oxygen from the tank. Finally he put on a backpack full of his tools and approached the airlock.

The airlock door shut behind him and began to depressurize the room he was in, as to not suck him into space extremely fast. Finally it finished with a beep of a red neon sign at the top saying Depressurized. He slowly crawled across his ship to its bottom, and the crouching upside down under the ship, and then springing back as he began smoothly gliding towards the ship. No sound at all in space, it was peaceful for him as he slowly hit the station, and re-adjusted to face right side up. He grabbed at a small bit of wire atop the ship and used it to propel himself further south of the station.

Coming across another airlock, solar panels and lights flickered as they got their power for the ship. Opening the airlock he moved in, the airlock closing behind him, he suddenly found a ton of weight as it opened up to the ship and pressurized. He quickly took off his helmet and undid his suit, looking for a place to store his items while he was on the station, he quickly found a closet, and stuffed it into the quickly, picking up his bag once more he put it on and walked through the empty maintenance shaft, lights flickered on and off, clearly stating it wasn't in good shape, a mouse ran between his feet and past giving him a slight shudder.

Finally he approached a door, he knew that it would be a door to the escape bay at the far east, and he had been walking northeast from the solar panels, this was quite a good feeling, as he knew he could begin the journey of taking the stations materials. Pulling his energy sword out, a nice purple glow was given in the dark shaft, he opened the maintenance door and walked inside. A few people were near, as the escape bay wasn't often used unless their was an emergency and the escape shuttle was on its way. He quickly attracted attention from a man in orange clothes. He raised his sword and yelled "Stand down! Or be cut down!" the man turned and ran as fast as he could to alert the crew. "Well....That could have gone better I guess..." he said walking down where the man ran to, passing science wing and nearing medical wing.

"Stand down! Or be cut down!" He heard a voice that clearly belong to a tough sounding male shout out far down the hallway, echoing into his audio sensors faintly but still detectible. Those were unmistakable fighting words. In the past he had misinterpreted what people were saying at times, getting involved in fights that were never there to begin with, but such a statement was not to be ignored. Sure, he supposed it was possible that it was a friendly warning, but not likely. He rushed forward, nearing the end of the medical wing when what was perhaps the source of the noise darted into view. Or maybe he was just a victim due to how frightened he was appearing.

"What seems to be the matter?" Mauk questioned in a calm voice. His arm cannon faced forward just in case the threat was following just behind him. He was ready for anything, be it an invasion of rabid squirrels or Godzilla, although they were a long ways from Tokyo and he reckoned that Godzilla couldn't fit on a station such as this regardless. But still he was ready for anything.

Rocky walked slowly down the hallway, noticing the mans orange, almost neon clothes standing next to a....Cyborg? Robot? Whatever it was it was pretty damn advanced, due to the cannon poking from its arm. He turned his glowing sword off and instead took his laser pistol and aimed it near the bot. A sizable distance, stationing next to the morgue door, and he was terrible with a pistol. 'Bad plan bad plan bad pl- His thoughts were removed as he fired three shots at the robot, he confirmed that he missed twice but the third one he couldn't pinpoint.

Turning and having to jab a door open likely bringing much attention to himself, he stood in the morgue. He looked around at the morgue before rushing to the door that entered med-bay, this time it wasn't budging. He quickly hid behind one of the individual iron coffins, and waited for a knock at the door.

"Halt, kind sir! You'll poke an eye out with that thing!" Mauk warned the newcomer, holding up his left hand in a "stop what you're doing" kind of pose. Apparently this man didn't have good manners at all because he unleashed three shots anyways. At least he wasn't attacking the civilian, who managed to dart to safety down another hallway with a panicked yelp. As for himself, despite being advanced he still couldn't underestimate a weapon no matter how puny it looked. The mechanics in his legs shifted into high gear to allow him to sidestep out of harms way of the first two shots, but the man was able to make somewhat of a correction and glanced the last laser off of Mauk's left shoulder, leaving a nice little burn mark. He did a quick system check, glad to see that he still had all of his functions. He put his focus on catching up to his retreating opponent. He knocked his metal hand against the side of the damaged door.

"Anyone home?" He questioned, knowing the answer already. He surveyed his new surroundings. Nobody was alive besides the suspect. He could probably afford to let loose a little more then if the fight had continued out in public. He switched his arm cannon to the ice ball function so that he could freeze his opponent and not kill him or do permanent damage to any dead that may be resting within the coffins. They'd just have to thaw out a bit before the funeral service.

Without knowing his exact position, he let loose a blast at a random coffin, then another, then another. Eventually he would get to the right one or his opponent would rush out to greet him.

The bot walked through the door, the clacking of its footsteps alerting Rocky to its presence. An odd flicker, and then BANG CRASH. As balls of ice smashed into the coffins one after another after another. Turning to the door he quickly decided to shoot the lock on it, the blast of cold getting closer he shot the laser putting a small hole in place of the doorknob. Standing up he jumped at the door and it blasted open allowing him entrance now with ease. Quickly, but not quickly enough he jumped behind the wall he had just passed his leg, almost frozen solid, he stood against the wall as cover. He put his gun away and pulled out his glowing purple sword once more, trying to forget about his leg while he got ready. The sword flickered to life and once more gave its slight, almost silent sound. The only idea of what the bot looked like, was some sort of bald helmet, or face thing and a cannon for a hand. It was a bit blue in color, but from what he usually saw the bots were. This one must have been the station's security or something, because usually he encountered and officer or something along those lines. He raised his stiffened foot, freezing cold, and tried to fix it a bit before giving up and deciding to deal for a moment or two.

"Hey you, Bot, thing. What are you?" he said finally looking at where he was, noticing to late that three doctors had stopped what they were doing to look at him. "Get outta here!" He shouted, waving his sword as they all turned back to their jobs in a hurry. He waited to get an attack on the, advanced, bot, for if he had killed it he could possibly reprogram it to his liking. He still wasn't terribly injured, so that meant something I guess, but a frozen leg was a setback.

"What am I? I am justice! I am the day!" Mauk replied dramatically. "I...am MaukTu!!!" His visor gleamed heroically as he finished. His right boot was placed firmly on a stool, his left hand on his hip, and his arm canon pointed straight ahead where the man had been...had been, given the key word. While he was giving this speech the man had managed to escape through a doorway. Oopsy.

"Well anyways, I gave you my name, so you shall give me yours! It is only polite!" He demanded as he placed his boot back down on the ground and began to stroll towards the doorway. "Or better yet, tell me what you are doing here. Or best yet, put down your weapon and surrender. The best, best scenario yet is if you do all three at once, but I suppose that would be wanting one's cake and eating it too. Not that an android such as me can eat cake..."

He was rambling now, so he decided that he didn't want to bore his opponent so he stopped in order to wait for a reply. Perhaps he shouldn't worry about causing boredom when the fight could easily lead to far more injuries, but even the small things could lead to vastly different impressions as he had learned while interacting with humans. Who'd want to be known as that annoying robot who never shut up? Such as C-3PO? But his robotic mind shouldn't be wasting processing power thinking about this, which was the main reason why it was best to concentrate on the battle at hand for now. He would continued to walk forward until he got a reply. If he managed to get all the way across the room then he would brace himself against the wall and peak around the corner to see what was going on. Hopefully he hadn't miscalculated and his opponent had managed to escape while he was talking.

Rocky listened to Mauk's rambling on, guess he is station security or something! He thought, putting a hand on his slightly frozen leg. It was cold, and would likely slow him down, but for now he had a robot problem. "Yes yes, I am Rocky! Sadly, I will not surrender as I am a pirate!" He said aloud, as doctors ran past him to genetics, or shuffled out of med-bay all together. He watched as a doctor who had passed him began leaving genetics, he quickly grabbed him, and put his blade to him as to have him shut up.

"I may just be a pirate but I am sure we can talk things out. Of course, you can surrender, then the possibility of lives being lost will drop a ton, you can give me the valuables of the ship, and I leave. Nobody will have to die that way. Then finally, if you do not accept to these terms, then it is likely a man will die! At your hands!" He tried simply to avoid combat for a bit longer, figure out a strategy against the borg before rushing in. This one was 10X as strong as any random security officer, hoping the hostage could persuade the bot, possibly even give him a chance to attack, any help would do great in his scenario, especially an easy hit. The doctor struggled, but not enough to break from Rocky's grasp, he only tightened the more the doctor struggled.

A hostage? His mechanical mind was working overtime trying to find out a solution to this problem. He didn't want to allow any unnecessary casualties, but could he really give in to the demands of a pirate? This was a difficult dilemma to anyone, far less a robot such as himself. What was the most logical choice of action? The best one? If he wasn't so well built then smoke could be coming out of his metaphorical ears.

"Yes, let's talk. But I cannot remove my weapons, so I cannot really surrender unless I shut myself off, which I will not be doing," he replied at last, still positioned by the doorway. "So...what do you want to talk about? Your favorite television show? The meaning of life? It's 24, isn't it? I never could really figure that one out..."

As he talked his arm cannon morphed into a glowing blue sword made out of plasma. He might have to jump in at close range given the situation, so it was best to prepare while he was able.

Hearing that Mauk was open to talk Rocky began to slowly move past the morgue door, to the entrance of med-bay. It could give him a back up plan to escape. Finally he stopped backing up, as he neared the way out. "Alright then Mauk, if you won't be shutting down, I'de like to know what exactly you are. What type of bot exactly? I don't recognize you." He said. his leg still cold, still wet from the ice that grazed it while the bot shot down coffins.

The hostage continued a struggle, and Rocky was not up to letting go as of yet, he thought of some sort of clever way to get an attack on the bot, he didn't know how to attack it, and he needed a strategy. The talk Mauk spoke of, it made him chuckle slightly, and got him to finally say. "The answer is 42, not 24, you should know that. Anyways, slowly, make your way out of the morgue while you talk, please." He said finally, getting ready for an attack on Mauk, in an attempt to stab or slash at it.

Mauk paused for a matter of seconds, processing that tough question that he often asked himself. What was he? He was designed as a weapon of war by an organization independent of any military, but he didn't let that define him. He abandoned his ways long ago and would never look back to such a life of forced violence upon the innocent. Therefore, that was not the correct answer to the question. Then what was?

"I am...a lone ranger. Protector of the innocent and one who is traveling alone within the cold, dark expanses of the universe in search of my purpose. I don't have any other allegiance or purpose then that," he answered at last. "Perhaps if I had a soul this answer might come easier to me, or perhaps not."

He did as the man requested, backing away from the morgue slowly until he was standing out in the hallway just outside the doorway. He didn't have a mouth, but one could swear he had grinned when the man corrected his intentional error on the meaning of life being 42. So this man knew his stuff. This "meaning of life" was apparently wide spread knowledge, so perhaps it was true after all? But how did that robot come to such a conclusion while Mauk couldn't? Perhaps he didn't have enough time or processing power. He was completely at a loss. Oh well. He'd have time to contemplate the meaning of life later. For now he had a hostage to free.

"All right, I'm outside of the morgue. Release the hostage," he demanded.

Rocky nodded, knowing the bot wasn't of his usual thoughts he knew he would need to do it a little different, but whatever he could try his usual tactics. The bot spoke of itself as though it was some sort of cowboy, running around saving the lives of everybody it felt fit, but then again, it wouldn't concern him, most bots did, they were just confined to a single station, bound by laws people uploaded into them. It was even better when the bot asked that the person be released, a slightly chuckle in his words "Well you see, I can't exactly release them, you see, they are always going to be confined in this metal deathtrap of a station." He said quietly.

"But I guess I can release them now, you did what I said." He said getting ready to rush the robot, it would be a large risk, as it wasn't what he usually encountered in the line of bots, and that's to say he ever ran into robots, it wasn't often at the very least. He yawned slightly, the robot was quite demanding with his words, completing his thoughts that the bot wasn't bound by any rules in his code. Finally he pulled his sword down slashing the hostage, they fell to the ground, they would bleed out in only a few moments Rocky thought as he pulled his sword back up.

He raced towards Mauk slashing towards the bots left arm, in an attempt to take it off, first the arms, then the legs, then the bot will be, mostly useless he thought while he raced for the bot.
