Charlotte stood by the vending machine, pondering for a moment, lost in thought. After a moment or so, she dug a few coins out of her pocket and pushed them into the machine, pressing a few buttons and letting her choice fall down, grabbing the water bottle after it landed. Smiling to herself, she unscrewed the cap and took a deep swig of the icy liquid, letting it run down her throat, soothing the dryness forming from the nerves she felt. Turning around, she made her way to her locker, grabbing a few books, ensuring her personal notebook was included in the pile, hoping she got the chance to spend a few moments collecting her thoughts or the chance to work on some creative writing.

"Who are you?" A voice spoke out, causing Charlotte to jump suddenly where she stood. Shutting the locker, she turned out, eyes meeting the taller girl's as she gazed upon her. "I'm talking to you, you need to answer me NOW!" She demanded, stomping her foot on the ground in a childish manner. Inwardly, Charlotte wanted to laugh at the other girl's actions, put in mind of a toddler having a tantrum. Instead, she kept the giggles buried, opting to give a friendly smile instead.

"My name is Charlotte. I'm new.. obviously. And your name is?" Charlotte offered a way to try and seem friendly, though to be left alone would have suited her just fine at that moment in time. Not that she was anti-social, she just wanted to get to lesson on time.

"I'm Felicity. Now, I'm going to offer you a choice. You can be who you are SUPPOSED to be, or keep up the act you have." The taller girl spoke in a dangerous tone, and the implications struck Charlotte like a runaway freight train, but she knew the best option was to remain calm at that moment in time.

"I don't have a clue what you mean. I'm not hiding anything from anybody. I am who I am, nothing more, nothing less." Charlotte felt her wall quaver under the imposing glare, and the next sentence sent chills through her spine.

"I know you are a boy. I have connections in other towns, and this town is small, my dear. Be careful, or this secret might get out." Felicity purred, smirking coldly at her.

"Oh, piss off you overgrown Barbie doll." Charlotte snapped, mentally kicking herself as the girl clicked her fingers, two of her "friends" appearing by her side, one making a motion to punch Charlotte, which the girl dodged, only to be hit in the gut by the other female, the two attackers flanking Felicity once more.

Alex stifled back a yawn behind her hand. She didn't get much sleep the night before. Oh well, it was her own fault for staying up late for watching that action movie. Still, it's worth it, in her opinion anyway. Adjusting the backpack straps that she slung over her shoulder slightly, Alex grumbled slightly over the extra weight she could feel within her backpack.
Really, is it too much to ask for the materials she needed to be covered in just one or two books? But Noooo... they need to be spread over other books which also referred to another book, and referred to another book again... GAH!

She could take 5 books with her from the library, which already 3 books too much for her. Especially considering that what she needed from the books aren't that much. Continuing to grumble and bitching under her breath, she turned the corner towards her locker, and stopped short.
She just saw three girls ganging up on another girl, practically beating her up. Alex saw red. She didn't know what their problem was, all she could see was that they're bullying another girl. And if there's one thing she couldn't stand, its bullies.

"Hey!! What do you think you're doing??" She yelled at them and pushed the crowding girls away. Putting her arm around the bullied girl, she glared at the bullies. "What the heck you're thinking? You could seriously hurt her!"

Charlotte gazed up feeling an arm wrapped around her, blood pouring from her nose and down her face. Trembling where she stood, the young woman found herself leaning into her slightly, in an attempt to keep stood straight and to not end up passing out. Her nose and chin both ached dully, sharp pains jolting from her left hand side, roughly where he ribs sat. She knew something had happened to them, though quite what, she didn't know. Wheezing a little, Charlotte looked back to Felicity as the woman began to speak once again, her rude, haughty tones filling the otherwise silent corridor.

"That was the point, Alex. I don't think you quite realise that people like.. it.. shouldn't be allowed to happen.. People like...him allowed out of their houses, in OUR school." She replied coldly, looking down at the duo. "Anyway, I shouldn't waste anymore time." She turned to poke Charlotte in the chest, delivering one last slap across her face, leaving a mark on Charlotte's skin. "You. Don't ever come near me, you freak." She spat at them, retreating along with her friends.

"..Ow.." Charlotte spoke quietly, coughing harshly. "My ribs.."

At first Alex was stunned when Felicity had the gall calling the girl in her arm as 'it'. She was so stunned by it that she didn't react in time to stop Felicity's hand from slapping the already injured girl. Growling angrily, Alex stood quickly and kicked Felicity right on her butt, sending the girl sprawling forward in an undignified heap. When her two stooges turned towards Alex, she swung her heavy bag in horizontal arc like an athletic hammer throw, with the desired result of hitting one which crashed to the other and joined their 'master' on the floor.

"You! You listen, you little b*tch! If anything, I think YOU are the kind of people that shouldn't exist!! Bullies like you make me SICK!" She spat at them angrily, "Now, get lost before I REALLY show you just how much I dislike bullies!"
Waiting until after the bullies were out of her sight, Alex turned her full attention to the injured girl and winced when she saw how bad it was. "Hey.. Are you okay?" She groaned and shook her head at her own question. "No... Stupid question, of course you're not okay. I'm sorry I wasn't fast enough to stop her slapping you." She apologized and helped her stand up. "Come on... Let's get you to the infirmary. Your side look a little too tender for comfort."

Following Alex to the infirmary, Charlotte gave her a small, nervous smile. Her ribs ached dully, an ocassional sharp pang shooting up her side, causing her to gasp in shock, stopping where she was to recover for a few seconds. Reaching the nurse's office with much effort and struggling on her behalf, Charlotte got onto the bed. Coughing a tad, the young woman smiled at Alex. "Thank you for defending me back there, dear. I'd have been so much worse off. You, quite literally, kicked Felicity's ass for me."

Removing her top to show the bruising on her ribs, Charlotte crossed her arms across her non-existant chest, blushing. "I hurt, so much."

Alex held the injured girl's arm to help her staying up and walking. She looked on worriedly whenever the girl needed to stop from the pain, unfortunately short of getting a wheelchair, she didn't think she could do anything more to help her. Upon reaching the nurse's office, Alex couldn't help but sigh in relief. It was frustrating to see the other girl in pain the whole time they're walking, and knowing that she couldn't do anything to help reduce her pain. She hated to see others in pain.
Well, unless they're bullies who get their comeuppance, then she might have just point at them and laughs.

Alex smiled back at the girl. "You're welcome. I would have done much worse than kicked her butt, literally, if they dared to stay. I don't like bullies, and that's what they are." She replied and turned to put her bag on a chair while the other girl removed her top. Turning around to look at her again, Alex grimaced when she saw the girl's bruised side. "Ouch! That looks painful. Let me get the nurse." Alex hurriedly went to the door connecting to an adjoining room and called the nurse inside before looking back.
"Oh, by the way, I'm Alex."

"Charlotte." She replied softly, kissing her on the cheek. "Thank you, dear." She replied softly, pushing her glasses up her nose. "Man, I ache." She whispered, leaning back on the bed. As the nurse entered and began to check her over, Charlotte turned her head to face Alex. "I know you don't like bullies, but not many people would stand up for me, regardless of the circumstances." She replied softly, leaning back a little. Her back and side hurt a lot, and she needed pain killers urgently, but knew she might not get them straight away.

Smiling over at Alex, Charlotte closed her eyes softly, ending up passing out on the bed.

"I don't see why, really. Those people are idiots." Alex grumbled upon listening to Charlotte saying not many people would stand up for her. As the nurse started to check on the girl, Alex walked out of the room, telling the nurse that she'll be back soon. She quickly went to her locker, replacing her shoes and taking her jacket along with her gloves. She had no more classes today and she had planned to go straight back to her rented house. The plan just changed with what she just witnessed.

Jogging back to the nurse's office, Alex entered the room quietly and greeted the nurse. "How is she?" She quietly asked the nurse.
